00:00Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel denied any ongoing negotiations with the United States following Trump's statements on the matter.
00:06On his social media, President Diaz-Canel said there are no talks with the U.S. government except for technical contacts in the area of migration.
00:13We have always been willing to engage in serious and responsible dialogue with various U.S. administrations,
00:19including the current one, on the basis of sovereignty, equality, mutual respect, principles of international law,
00:24mutual benefit, without interference in internal affairs, and with full respect for our independence.
00:30The origin and extreme tightening of the blockade have no connection with Cubans living in the U.S.,
00:35who were driven there by the failed policy and by the privileges of the Cuban Adjustment Act.
00:41They are now victims of the changing policies towards migrants and the betrayal of Miami politicians.
00:47As history shows, for relations between the U.S. and Cuba to move forward,
00:50they must be based on international law rather than hostility, threats, and economic coercion.
