00:00Demonstrations have continued during the weekend inside and outside Venezuela in rejection to U.S. imperialist aggression in the region, including the kidnapping of President Nicolas Maduro.
00:24And Cuba held its National Defense Day amidst actions and threats of U.S. interference.
00:30And the Iranian government asserts that it would not allow foreign groups to undermine the country's stability.
00:40Hello, welcome to From the South. I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Delezu Studios in Havana, Cuba. We begin with the news.
01:00Venezuela remains in the streets for the eighth consecutive day in defense of national sovereignty and to demand the freedom of President Nicolas Maduro and First Combatant Celia Flores.
01:10This is how the hundreds of citizens marched through the streets of the states of Trujillo, Miranda, Guarico, Nueva Esparta, Cogedes and the capital city to demand that Washington respect international law and the United Nations Charter in light of the recent U.S. military attacks.
01:25Social movements, workers, and community members call for the safe return of Venezuelan leaders and denounce Donald Trump's war actions in the South American nation.
01:35Venezuelans will remain on the streets until the United States ceases its aggression on national territory.
01:40U.S. citizens mobilized in several cities in solidarity with Venezuela and condemned the murder of citizen René Nicole Good.
01:53With an attack on the sovereign country and peaceful people in Venezuela. Can we say shame?
02:04Shame!
02:06Just last week they killed two of our brothers and sisters here in this country, René Nicole Good. Can we hear her name?
02:15René Nicole Good. And they killed a brother here, Mr. Porter.
02:22In Los Angeles. Can we hear his name?
02:27He's Porter. Can we hear his name?
02:30He's Porter.
02:31What do we want for them?
02:33Trump!
02:34When do we want him?
02:35Now!
02:36And let me tell you, every day I wake up, every day I wake up as a formally undocumented person, as a brown skinned socialist, as a person who lives...
02:47So, Trump is waging this war against Venezuela. He is illegally bombing a country that is sovereign and he has kidnapped their president because he's using racist fear-mongering to make us think that that's somehow going to make us more safe.
03:02But we don't have a Maduro problem in this country. We have a Trump problem. And his vendetta against Maduro has nothing to do with the drug trade because if that was the case, he would be locking up the CEOs of Purdue Pharma and those who manufactured the opioid crisis.
03:16Instead, he's going after the president of a nation that's independent and he's using our tax dollars because he wants to make his billionaire friends richer in the oil industry.
03:26So, we're here. He continues to caricature us as criminals. He's using the same talking points to terrorize Venezuela as he is to terrorize our communities here domestically.
03:35He's using the same emotional mass, homeless vehicles as they ideas as they can call Mariah Spears in the militarized expression of Western ŃĐ”ĐșŃĐ”Ńarily and toute maĂźtris seafood.
03:40Let me hear you! I saw for good!
03:43I saw for good!
03:44I saw for good!
03:46One more time, I saw for good!
03:47I saw for good!
03:48One more time so the fascists in Washington, D.C.
03:54can hear you! I saw for good!
03:56I saw for good!
03:58I saw for good!
04:00And in the United Kingdom, Monsardite members of the British chapter of the anti-fascist
04:12international joined the Venezuelan Solidarity campaign protest in London standing against
04:17growing imperialist aggression in Venezuela. Activists are denouncing the fact that Britain
04:22is not just a bystander as it actively backs the US sanctions regime change and economic
04:27warfare with attacks against Cuba also ramping up, resistance in the heart of the empire
04:33is vital. The protest was a vibrant display of international solidity where different groups
04:38gave powerful speeches chanting in English and Spanish and maintained high energy levels
04:43from start to finish.
04:51Alongside the imperialist political parties, trade unions, associations and French citizens
04:56from various sectors of society denounced the US aggression against Venezuela and the
05:00US false arguments to justify. Hundreds of people gathered on the slogan not to imperialism.
05:06They held banners and flags identifying the organizations they represented and condemned last week's
05:11attack during which President NicolĂĄs Maduro and first combatant Celia Flores were kidnapped.
05:17Demonstrators warned of the threat to humanity posed by US President Donald Trump's interventionist
05:22policies and said that after Venezuela, other countries and territories could be subject to military
05:27aggression.
05:29And thousands of people mobilized on Saturday in Italy in solidity with Venezuela and rejection
05:39of the United States policies against that South American nation. Protesters marched through
05:44the streets of Rome to condemn Washington's actions in Latin America and Caribbean. The mobilization
05:49brought together citizens from across the country in front of the US Embassy in the capital. The
05:55participants also demanded an end to the aggression, respect for Venezuela's sovereignty and the
05:59release of President NicolĂĄs Maduro and his wife Celia Flores.
06:09In Spain, demonstrators have demanded respect for Venezuelan sovereignty and they have rejected the
06:13U.S. aggression against its people. In Galicia, people demonstrated in support of Venezuela expressing
06:19solidity with the struggle of the Venezuelan people and demanding the release of President NicolĂĄs Maduro and
06:25First Lady Celia Flores. Demonstrators said the sentiment of brotherhood knowns no borders and they raised their
06:31voices against foreign intervention, reaffirming global resistance against imperialist terrorist attacks. This demonstration is
06:37part of an international mobilization movement in support of Venezuela's self-determination and in rejection of
06:43destabilizing attempts promoted by the United States.
06:53We are defending ourselves above all for the following, the right to live in peace, the constitutional right to be a country that makes headway, the right to be free, to continue with this participatory democracy.
07:05But above all, the right to be independent. We don't ask for more. We've never asked for anything else. That's the only thing we ask for. Respect for ourselves, as we have done for everyone else.

07:31Welcome back. In the face of the latest threats from U.S. President Donald Trump against Cuba, President Miguel Diaz-Canel took to his socials to provide a clear response.
07:49President Diaz-Canel said, those who turn everything into a business, even human lives, have no moral authority to point fingers at Cuba for anything, absolutely anything.
08:11Those who aesthetically rail against our nation today to do so out of rage over the sovereign decision of these people to choose their political model.
08:19Those who blame the revolution for the severe economic hardships we suffer should be ashamed to speak because they know and acknowledge that these hardships are the result of the draconian measures of extreme suffocation that the U.S. has been imposing on us for six decades and now threatens to be intensified.
08:37Cuba is a free, independent, and sovereign nation. No one dictates what we do. Cuba does not attack. It has been attacked by the U.S. for 66 years. It does not threaten. It prepares itself, ready to defend the homeland to the last drop of blood.
08:59As well on Sunday, the Cuban government responded to the threats and false accusations made by U.S. President Donald Trump.
09:05The social media ex-foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez posted, Cuba does not receive nor has it ever received monetary or material compensation for the security services it has provided to any country.
09:16Unlike the United States, we do not have a government that engages in mercenary activities, blackmail or military coercion against other states.
09:24Like every other country, Cuba has the absolute right to import fuel from those markets willing to export it and exercise their own right to develop their commercial relations without interference or subordination to the illiteral coercive measures of the United States.
09:37Right and justice are on Cuba's side. The United States is behaving like a criminal and uncontrolled hegemon that threatens peace and security not only in Cuba and this hemisphere but throughout the entire world.
09:56The statements by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez responded to the warnings and threats made by U.S. President Donald Trump published on the Truth Social platform in which he stated there will be no more oil or money for Cuba.
10:09Cynically, Trump accused Cuba of receiving large amounts of oil and money from Venezuela for years in exchange for security services provided to recent governments.
10:17The White House tenant said that Venezuela now has the United States, the most powerful military in the world, to protect it and assured that Washington would assume that role directly.
10:27In a threatened tone, Trump recommended that the parties involve to reach an agreement before it's too late.
10:34And in this context, Venezuela's acting president, El Rodriguez has categorically stated in recent days that the Venezuelan government rules its country and that no external agent governs Venezuela.
10:54Rodriguez has thus affirmed national sovereignty in response to Washington's statements of interference in its internal and economic affairs.

13:10And in Honduras, President Xiomara Castro signed a legislative decree instructing the National Electoral Council to conduct an immediate recount of the votes cast in the November 30 elections.

13:32The head of state has stated that the electoral authority has refused to process 4,774 voting records.
13:38She stated the omission violated the constitution, which she would defend until the end of her term.
13:43In a direct message to U.S. President Donald Trump, the Honduran president also pointed out that his social media posts in favor of candidate Nasir Villas-Fura
13:51had a negative impact on the democratic process in the country and called to engage in dialogue regarding his interference.
13:57And the growing of Nicaragua continues to promote and strengthen the development model of the creative and entrepreneurial economy.
14:09According to recent reports, the Sandinista executive gave priority to the implementation of policies and programs aimed at promoting and strengthening local enterprises,
14:17with the objective of generating opportunities and employment as part of an economic strategy.
14:22National trade fairs were held with the intention of positioning integral development.
14:28Over 19 years, the Sandinista government is promoting inclusive policies focused on advancing and providing opportunities for Nicaraguan families.
14:41And in Nicaragua as well, the Central Bank presented an economic report that shows the consolidation of the development model
14:48of the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity led by Commander Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.
14:53The report highlights that economic policy focused on generating wealth to reduce poverty has yielded concrete results.
15:00In this regard, overall poverty fell from 48.3% in 2005 to 24.9% in 2016, while extreme poverty fell from 17.2% to 6.9% over the same period.
15:12This trend has been sustained with continuous improvements in access to housing, education and services.

16:19emphasizing that legitimate protests should not turn into sabotage of public and private property.
16:25Critics can also call on citizens to cooperate in maintaining public safety and preventing demonstrations from turning into sabotage and riots.
16:40We want people in every neighborhood to come together to prevent troublemakers from causing chaos.
16:46If people have concerns, we will listen to them.
16:50It is our duty to listen to them and resolve their problems.
16:56At night, we have an important duty to prevent troublemakers from disrupting society.
17:03The Iranian parliament expressed its unity in the face of threats of aggression by Israel and the United States.

17:27The Islamic Republic of Iran is in a state of declared and continuous war against the Sionist and American enemies on four parallel fronts, the economic, cognitive, military and terrorist levels.
17:48These confrontations are happening all at once.
