Shadow business and trade secretary Andrew Griffith says that businesses are bleeding out all over the high street, as he responds to the news that the Government is to backtrack on business rates and will provide new financial support for pubs.

00:00well yet another u-turn but this would be welcome it's something we've called for right since the
00:22budget it was very foreseeable that this was going to have a huge increase on businesses
00:26many of them are facing multiple hundreds of percentage increase in business rates
00:32and an already difficult time after a number of other tax rises so we welcome this it's got to
00:37go much further than pubs this is an issue that affects all of our high street businesses
00:41the chancellor should be coming out laying out what is going to happen
00:44end the uncertainty and make sure it goes much wider than just the pubs
00:49businesses are bleeding out across our high streets when you present yourself in a and e with blood
00:58gushing you don't want someone to throw you a pack of plasters it's got to be a substantial change
