00:00Let's check in now with Rochelle for the weather forecast.
00:03Thanks, Tisha. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago. It's now time for your weather.
00:09Here's what happened today. The Trinidad and Tobago Med Service officially declared the start of the 2026 dry season.
00:17During the dry season, the country experiences significantly reduced rainfall amounts as compared to the wet season.
00:25However, the dry season is not totally devoid of rainfall.
00:28The initial part of the dry season, January to March, is expected to be mostly wetter than normal and warmer than usual as well,
00:38which may result in less vegetative stress, a positive impact on surface and groundwater recharge and stream flow rates,
00:47an increase in the breed areas for insect vectors such as mosquitoes,
00:51a decrease in the potential for bush, forest and landfill fires, especially during January to March.
00:57So, that's some good news there.
01:00Now, let's head on over to conditions tonight.
01:02Tonight will be generally fair, with a few party cloudy spells and isolated showers likely.
01:09We have minimum temperatures at 24 degrees in both islands.
01:14And tomorrow, expect a mix of sunshine and variable cloud cover.
01:18Occasional showers are also possible, especially from mid-morning, favouring southern half of Trinidad.
01:24Conditions should settle before nightfall.
01:27Maximum temperatures are expected at 31 degrees in Trinidad and 30 degrees in Tobago.
01:33And you can just copy and paste those same conditions into Saturday because it will be the same.
01:38That is, a mix of sunshine and party cloudy spells with occasional showers.
01:42Sunday, on the other hand, will be generally sunny.
01:45Both days will have maximum temperatures of 31 degrees in Trinidad and 30 degrees in Tobago.
01:51Now, let's check in on our sun times.
01:55In Trinidad, sunrise is at 626 and it will set at 559.
01:59Over in Tobago, sunrise is at 624 and it will set at 554.
02:05So, everyone deserves a day at the beach.
02:08Even the doggies, brownie here, will agree with me.
02:12So, if you're heading there tomorrow, seas will be moderate with waves 1.5 metres to 2 metres in open waters and below 1 metre in sheltered areas.
02:21It's now time for your Thai times.
02:23Well, that's all for weather tonight.
02:36Don't go anywhere because there's more news when we come back.
02:38If you're in there.
02:39Let's check.
02:40Let's check.
02:40Until then.
02:42Let's see.
02:42Let's see.
