U.S. stock futures declined on Thursday following a mixed close on Tuesday, with only the Nasdaq 100 index ending in green.

However, investors remain highly vigilant regarding headline risk. The U.S Supreme Court could make a ruling on tariffs imposed on other countries by President Donald Trump as early as Friday, Jan. 9. The Supreme Court has said it will hold an Opinion Day on Friday, with the justices back from a break.

Additionally, investors also await the December jobs reports, slated to be released on Friday as well.

Meanwhile, the 10-year Treasury bond yielded 4.15%, and the two-year bond was at 3.47%. The CME Group's FedWatch tool‘s projections show markets pricing an 88.4% likelihood of the Federal Reserve leaving the current interest rates unchanged in January.

The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE:SPY) and Invesco QQQ Trust ETF (NASDAQ:QQQ), which track the S&P 500 index and Nasdaq 100 index, respectively, were lower in premarket on Thursday. The SPY was down 0.20% at $688.19, while the QQQ declined 0.29% to $622.35, according to Benzinga Pro data.

00:00futures under pressure ahead of Thursday's open here today. S&P futures down 0.2 percent. Dow
00:12futures down 0.38 percent. And the Nasdaq futures down 0.29 percent. It's about sideways. I guess
00:20it was a little bit lower in the after hour session, but really has made no significant move
00:25yet as of today or as of this morning. Let's go ahead and take a look at some cues from last
00:31session. Materials, utilities and industrial stocks recorded the biggest losses on Wednesday,
00:37though health care and communication services bucked the trend, closed the session higher.
00:43However, investors remain highly vigilant regarding headline risk. The U.S. Supreme Court could
00:49make a ruling on the tariffs imposed on other countries by Trump as early as Friday. So that
00:56would be tomorrow. The Supreme Court had said it will hold an opinion day on Friday with justices
01:01back from break. Additionally, investors also await the December jobs report slated to be released on
01:07Friday as well. Meanwhile, the 10-year Treasury bond yielded 4.15 percent and the two-year bond yielded
01:143.47 percent. Also worth noting, since we've been talking about rate cuts quite a bit going into
01:202026, the CME Group's Fed Watch Tool projections are showing markets pricing in an 88.4 percent
01:27likelihood of the Federal Reserve leaving the current rates unchanged in January. And this should
01:33be no surprise. I'm pretty sure a majority of the group was on this side for this next one. We're not
01:39really expecting a cut, and I would imagine the market feels the same on that. First stock in
01:45focus is going to be AZZ. I guess that's AS. It was 2.8 percent higher in the pre-market on Thursday
01:53after the company reported upbeat earnings for the third quarter. The next stock on our list here is
01:59one we've traded before off of some PRs in the morning and off the relative volume scanner. It's going
02:04to be Immunaring. That's ticker IMRX. Shares tumbled 22.93 percent after it announced updated
02:11overall survival and safety data from its ongoing phase 2A trial of one of its drugs in combination
02:18with modified another drug in first-line pancreatic cancer patients with over 13 months of median follow-up
02:26time. So looks like not good data on that. Stock is slumping as a result of that.
02:32Northrop Grumman is the next stock on our list. That's ticker NOC. That jumped 6.84 percent as
02:39shares of defense companies traded higher following President Trump's social media report where he
02:44proposed increasing the 2027 military budget from $1 trillion to $1.5 trillion. Phantom Pharmaceuticals
02:52is the next stock on our list here. Ticker is PHAT, FAT. It dropped 14.22 percent after announcing
03:00the pricing of $130 million public offering of common stock and pre-funded warrants.
03:07The last stock on our list is Constellation Brands. This was a stock on our list yesterday.
03:12They're on the list again today because shares were 2.32 percent higher after posting better than
03:17expected earnings for the third quarter. It's also worth noting that STZ has maintained a strong
03:23short and medium-term price trend has not yet converted that long trend over.
