00:00So the alliance talks within the NDA picking up hours after the PMK, Anbhumani Ramados met with EPS and finalized, sealed the deal essentially.
00:15Edapadi Paraniswamy is in Delhi and is likely to also meet with Home Minister Amit Shah.
00:23The idea for the NDA is to get as many leaders together to ensure as many parties come together to be a part of the alliance.
00:31They're trying to pitch it as DMK versus others.
00:33But the big challenge is in getting some of the bigger faces like a Vijay on board as well.
00:38I want to bring in Piyush Mishra who's joining us live from Delhi.
00:41We also have Apoorva Jay Chandra joining us live from Chennai.
00:44Piyush, to you first on what's on the agenda.
00:46EPS in Delhi, has he got a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah?
00:50Well, as of now, the meeting has not taken place.
00:55What we are told is that the meeting will take place late in the night.
00:59Yes, EPS is in Delhi and he will be meeting Home Minister Amit Shah.
01:03And this meeting is very crucial.
01:05Why?
01:06Because you would remember that Home Minister Amit Shah was on his visit to Tamil Nadu where he has held meeting with BJP and AIA DMK leaders.
01:14And after which this pact has been signed where PMK has also decided to join hands with NDA.
01:20After that decision, now EPS is in Delhi and he is going to brief Home Minister Amit Shah about the developments those have taken place.
01:28What we are also told is that HM Amit Shah had asked BJP and AIA DMK leaders to ensure that there is an alliance firm up by Pongal.
01:38So, we can expect more parties also to come into the fold of NDA in a few more days.
01:44What is more important here that on 10th and 11th, BJP's National Working President, Nitin Nabeen, is also going to visit Tamil Nadu where he will be holding various meetings with the other parts of NDA and with senior leaders of BJP.
01:58So, BJP has started strategizing for upcoming polls and it is trying its best to get more and more party in its fold.
02:05Okay, let me bring in also Apoorva Jayachandran who is joining us live from Chennai with more updates on this.
02:09Apoorva, the idea of the AIA DMK BJP will be to bring in as many parties as possible into the NDA fold.
02:18But as far as PMK goes, look, this is a party that has been ridden with a whole lot of factualism.
02:23The father and son are fighting it out.
02:25Why does this really matter for the NDA?
02:28What does PMK really bring to the table?
02:35See, the long-standing alliance that is there between PMK and the kind of politics that they bring into the demographics here in Tamil Nadu,
02:46they play quite a major, important, you know, vote bank here in Tamil Nadu.
02:51And that's, you know, something that, you know, AIA DMK will covet for and in fact BJP will covet for when it comes to this particular alliance that we are talking about.
03:00Yes, there is the father and son now, you know, who are not on talking terms and there is a, you know, tussle that is ongoing there.
03:07But most importantly, what is to be seen is that, you know, not only is there going to be AIA DMK, PMK and the BJP that is going to join into alliance.
03:16In fact, EPS has very categorically stated that even, you know, be it the siege-sharing alliances or, you know, which party is going to get, you know,
03:24MLAs or MPs or whatnot, should they win the upcoming elections, it is going to be all decided further on.
03:30This move by EPS, that is him finishing up, wrapping up the alliance with the PMK and then going on the very day to Delhi to finalize the further talks with the BJP is not only a strategic move here,
03:42but the BJP also wants the same.
03:44Let me remind you, you know, BJP has already, sources do tell us, they are trying to look into roping in, you know, OPS and TTV within the current also, you know, be brought back into AIA DMK.
03:55Remember these two, all of them, you know, all of these people fringe, you know, as they are, all of these leaders individually,
04:02they do have quite a fair majority in terms of vote bank that we are seeing and the kind of, you know, affinity that people have towards them.
04:09So, you have EPS and PMK on one side, you have OPS and TTV within the current, which the BJP wants to bring in.
04:16It's not the AIA DMK that wants to bring in.
04:16Let's see, let's see if they are successful because that will also largely rely upon how they managed to convince an EPS to bring them on board.
04:23But thanks very much, Apoorva, thank you, Piyush, for getting us all of those details.
