00:00Hello and welcome back. Today we are going to unbox the 55 millimeter digital
00:08UV filter from Waka. Waka Waka. Let's go ahead open this thing up. Now the reason
00:17why I got this is because of the lens I got on the Canon R10. Now generically
00:28speaking they are less expensive than the R series excuse me RF series because
00:35they have RFS lenses and they are supposedly cheaper but for me they're
00:42still expensive so I want to protect the lens as much as possible and also
00:48because it's a UV filter it does take out some of the weird glares and things
00:52like that supposedly. So this is 16 coats evidently at least that's what the
01:00advertisement said. I don't know if you can see it but it does say Waka ultra slim
01:05MC UV 55 millimeter and if anybody is wondering it is made in Japan. Now it does
01:14come with a really nice case. I don't like that very much. Snaps into place and
01:22doesn't look like it's too hard to open up but it's not gonna just fly open on you
01:26so I like that as well. So let's go ahead and see we can put this thing on the
01:33camera and with a video metric. Ta-da! There it is. We're gonna open up the lens
01:43cleaner that I got separately. This did not come with the lens. I mean the filter. So
01:52what came with the filter is just the filter and the case. Take off the hood. Now I
02:01do normally have another filter that goes on there which is a Alora digital HD 55
02:11millimeter CPL. You turn a little ring there it gets lighter and darker. Well
02:16sometimes especially when I'm working inside it can get a little interesting
02:23to use this. Set that off to the side because what happens is obviously when
02:31you're inside it's a little darker. That even makes it darker yet and I know the
02:35camera is supposed to be able to compensate and it does a little bit. I just thought I
02:40need something clear. Oh and by the way I am cleaning these off just to make real real
02:49sure. I don't have dust on the lens or on the inside of the filter. Double check. Yep everything is good.
03:02Let's go ahead and put that on. Make sure we don't cross thread. Oh that's really super
03:12duper thin. That's nice. Okay. So now I feel a little better. It's protected. Should have
03:23threads on the end of it as well. Oh there we go. Had to play with a little bit but I think I still have the lens hood. There we go. Okay let's see. And yep.
03:48Auto focus does work. Even in dim light. So that UV filter does not interfere.
03:57That's good. That's what I wanted to see. Alrighty. Well let's see if it interferes with the macro
04:09function of the lens. Nope. It does pretty darn good. Now let's go outside and do some testing out
04:17there. And also looks like it does well outside in bright light.
