00:00well the first feed of 2026 i figured i'd do something a little different here i want to
00:11take a look at europe if you're looking for cold and you're looking for snow europe is the place
00:17to look here over the next uh week or so as we're going to be looking at rounds of cold and lots of
00:24snow here all right let me show you the surface panel here uh this morning you've got this big low
00:30up here in the scandinavian countries in here there it is let me put this on it's right in here
00:37now what this do is doing is putting all the cold south even in the northern parts of france into
00:43italy into the ukraine uh into romania now not a whole lot on the precipitation uh mark right now
00:51but watch what's going to happen here i want to show you the upper air now here's the key you've
00:56got this upper low in here uh near finland and sweden and what that's doing is little pieces of
01:02energy is going to be rotating down here this is this evening again east coast time and watch what
01:09happens here this is the time frame that gets interesting look at this energy coming down
01:13as we get into sunday and monday right into here this brings the next surge of cold coming you can
01:20see it coming across the uk here and in fact this piece of energy right here this is going to be on
01:25tuesday i think this is the shot tuesday night into wednesday for even london to get a little snow you
01:33see that upper low right in here over uh east england here right there all right this is your shot for snow
01:42in london and then this energy comes around the base and you're going to get a storm that's going to go
01:47up into here from italy um across romania uh and into the ukraine actually with some snow you can
01:56see it on the surface map watch this piece of energy where it comes right down in here and here's
02:01your snow look at that area of snow pushing into southern poland in toward belarus and even in the uk
02:07and getting some that's your first storm in here note what's going on here you have another storm up
02:13here north of scotland this is going to be your next surge of cold air coming in but look at this
02:19look at this cold in here especially by this point late this week across eastern parts of europe in
02:27here all right let's show you the upper air so that goes by there's a little break in the action
02:32as we get into friday and then here comes your next surge it begins first with this upper low
02:37going towards sweden and finland in here and then watch this is your next surge coming in so this is
02:45this upcoming weekend coming south watch this come south right into here there comes in the early next
02:52week right across france into germany in the poland and with this you're going to get your next storm
03:00watch this come across the area right into here here comes here comes and then there it goes
03:05another round of snow and cold in here now here's the good news you have one last this is your last
03:12shot as we head into the weekend so this is going to be on the 15th next weekend after this goes by
03:20it should start to warm up right in here as you get more of this uh an atlantic flow coming back in now
03:27the cold will stay locked in across eastern europe but western europe you're going to start warming up a
03:33little bit here i mean this is a lot of cold i'm trying to look at the um uh seeing if those numbers
03:39are in yet this is through monday and you could see where all the cold is again this is the cold
03:45snap look at that across the uk see all that blue that's relative to normal or historical average so
03:52this is where the cold's going to be early in the week and then this will spread in the eastern europe
03:58as we head into the middle and latter half of this week very very impressive cold surge you're
04:05going to be hearing about that doesn't look like looks like the biggest storms are going to be earlier
04:10in the week here's that first one i was talking about monday tuesday wednesday into thursday that
04:15goes by and then there's your next storm that's going to be more across germany than in the poland but
04:21what that's going to do then while there's not a lot of snow with it it brings a lot of cold down
04:27and then there's your next cold surge a week from now on the 12th 13th 14th and 15th not a lot of
04:35storms with that though at least that's certainly good news but at least for the next into the 15th
04:42you're going to be looking at a lot of cold let me show you how the snow breaks out with this this is
04:47snowfall accumulation here's that first storm as we get in the monday and tuesday look at the snow
04:53in here some high amounts here especially in the mountains and uh that's going to be uh pushing
05:00toward romania and then up in the word ukraine in here and then you have the snow in the northern part
05:06across the scandinavian countries let's go forward here watch how the snow continues to grow look at
05:12this snow starting to grow as we get into a week from now so this is later this week on the 9th and
05:2010th what that storm is that's this one let me go back that's this upper low right in here you see
05:25that on the 9th and 10th coming into friday that's coming across the netherlands northern germany
05:32and up into the scandinavian countries you see that right in there let's go back to the snow map
05:36and watch that snow build here it is thursday into friday watch the snow start to build
05:42right in there we go look at the snow building in there and then as we go forward as we get in
05:49the sunday monday and tuesday a week from now you start building the snow mostly though across eastern
05:56europe as the trough swings by and then this is what the snowfall looks like here so this is the
06:03accumulated snow from now all the way until the 15th and you can see a lot of scotland and again i think
06:13there's a shot for snow in london tuesday night into wednesday scandinavian countries get a lot of snow
06:18but look at how far south the snow is here certainly in the italian mountains here but even even close to
06:26here look at in this area in here getting all the snow as well so again this is the accumulated snow
06:33from now through the 15th take a look at how much snow is going to be covering europe you're going to
06:40be hearing about the cold and the snow in europe uh over the next week to 10 days we'll keep you
