00:01:00Thank you, ma'am. And hoping you are as well, Mr. Mayor. Where's your scarf? Wouldn't want you to get windswept after all.
00:01:07I appreciate the concern. I'll have to wrangle one up.
00:01:10Now, you just take one of mine. We have plenty of extras this year at the store.
00:01:18Very sweet of you. Thank you. And you know what? That reminds me, I haven't gotten my staff anything for Christmas yet. Would you please put a couple of these on hold for me?
00:01:25I can. Okay. Merry Christmas, Mr. Mayor. Merry Christmas.
00:01:30Hey, Mr. Mayor. Hey, Sadie. How's the bakery?
00:01:36The bakery's great. Outside the bakery, not as great.
00:01:40Oh. What's the problem?
00:01:41There's a big crack in the sidewalk. It's only gotten worse by the day. Any chance you...
00:01:47Oh, I'm adding it to my list of city repairs right now.
00:01:49Thanks, Mr. Mayor. I'll save you a box of gingerbread muffin.
00:01:53You spoiled me, Sadie.
00:01:54I got you.
00:01:55Morning, Mr. Reynolds. What's the morning traffic report?
00:02:04Mayor Ortega, look at this.
00:02:07I'm looking at what? I'm not sure.
00:02:10The traffic lights, they keep flickering. We don't want it to cause any accidents.
00:02:14Well, these gorgeous Long Grove winters can wreak havoc on the bulbs.
00:02:18Did you say havoc? There's no place for havoc in Long Grove.
00:02:22You're absolutely right about that, Mr. Reynolds.
00:02:23I'll add streetlight maintenance to the budget inquiry.
00:02:26Until then, thank goodness you're here to lend a helping hand.
00:02:28And what about the tree? The town tree?
00:02:31It's on the docket for today's city council meeting.
00:02:33We should buy a big one, like Rockefeller Center. Now that's a tree!
00:02:37Yes, sir.
00:02:42Lee, hey. Did you hear from John? Do we got the numbers yet?
00:02:46He's here right now, actually.
00:02:49He says he needs to talk to you, and he seems...
00:02:52Worried.
00:02:54Not bad, huh?
00:02:55All right, tell him I'll be right there.
00:02:57After you go to the school.
00:02:58The school? I'm headed to the office right now.
00:03:01Oh, the interviews this morning.
00:03:04You pushed it twice already.
00:03:05What's this journalist's name again?
00:03:07Joey DeLuca, and he is quite insistent on getting his time with you.
00:03:11All right. Head into the school now.
00:03:13Long Grove, huh? Who knew this place even existed?
00:03:34Fifty miles from New York, but a world away.
00:03:41New York or not.
00:03:43Watch your steps. Don't go bust it here. You just got here.
00:03:47Merry Christmas.
00:03:48Thank you. Merry Christmas.
00:03:49Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot.
00:04:01Oh, I forgot, too.
00:04:03I am so sorry. I couldn't make the trip to the city this year.
00:04:07Oh, my goodness. Don't be.
00:04:08This is a wonderful excuse for me to come home.
00:04:10It's been way too long.
00:04:11It is so good to have you back.
00:04:14Oh, wait. My bad.
00:04:17Good one, Pop.

00:05:04Hey!
00:05:05Mr. Mayor!
00:05:06Bravo!
00:05:08Mrs. Colvin, I had to see what that joyous sound was.
00:05:11I thought you had a professional choir in here.
00:05:13Mayor Ortega used to stand on those very same bleachers when he was in the Christmas show.
00:05:18Actually, I was really working backstage.
00:05:22It looks a little different back there. You might have to check it out?
00:05:25Of course not. You take a stroll down memory lane while we rehearse.
00:05:28Okay, kids, Silent Night.
00:05:32Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright.
00:05:46Ladies and gentlemen, Miss Nina Mackie
00:05:49Holy infant so tender and mild
00:06:00Sleep in heavenly peace
00:06:07Sleep in heavenly peace
00:06:13Silent night, holy night, shepherds quake at the sun.
00:06:29Glorious stream from heaven afar, heavenly home.
00:06:39My fourth-grade Christmas list.
00:06:39My fourth-grade Christmas list.
00:07:02My fourth-grade Christmas list.
00:07:09Dear Santa, can you make me dance like Fred Astaire?
00:07:13My mom loves him.
00:07:15Mr. Mayor, you must be looking for me.
00:07:18I'm Joey DeLuca.
00:07:19Joey DeLuca?
00:07:21Yes, of course. Joey DeLuca.
00:07:23I was looking for you for our interview, right?
00:07:26Yeah. Follow me.
00:07:28Okay.
00:07:28Oh, nice.
00:07:33Have a seat.
00:07:38So, Mayor Ortega, I'm interested in doing an article for our Christmas Day edition about what makes you you.
00:07:44A snack?
00:07:45I'm an open book, and no thank you.
00:07:47Eh, maybe some juice.
00:07:49Before I begin, I'll tell you what I tell all of my interviewees.
00:07:52It's best to speak from the heart and not to think too much before you answer.
00:07:55Think of vulnerability.
00:07:58Got it.
00:07:59So, you ready?
00:08:01Hope so.
00:08:03Do you believe in the spirit of Christmas?
00:08:06I believe.
00:08:08Go on.
00:08:09Uh, yeah.
00:08:10Yeah, I believe in the spirit of Christmas.
00:08:12And I love how this community comes together to really show that spirit.
00:08:18So, what is the part of Christmas that makes you the happiest?
00:08:24It's making sure that every Long Grove resident enjoys the holiday season as much as possible.
00:08:29If they're happy, I'm happy.
00:08:32Uh...
00:08:33Why aren't you ready?
00:08:35Trust the process.
00:08:37So, your family has a lot of history in Long Grove, correct?
00:08:40Yep.
00:08:41My grandfather opened the very first general store here.
00:08:44And my dad painted a lot of the murals that you see on Main Street.
00:08:47As a matter of fact, he painted that one over there.
00:08:48Nice.
00:08:51And my mom.
00:08:55Yes?
00:08:56Well, anyway, uh, there's a lot of history.
00:08:59I'm proud to be part of this special town.
00:09:03So, what makes this town so special?
00:09:06What makes Long Grove so amazing?
00:09:15I'm sorry, what was the question again?
00:09:17What makes Long Grove so amazing?
00:09:20Um, well...
00:09:26Uh, well, because, uh, uh...
00:09:31Maybe you should think about it and get back to me.
00:09:35Wait, it's over?
00:09:37That's it?
00:09:38For now.
00:09:40Hey, Joey.
00:09:41Last call for letters for the big guy.
00:09:43Oh, hey, Hannah.
00:09:43Actually, just throw this in there.
00:09:46Thanks.
00:09:46Mr. Mayor?
00:09:50Um, okay, uh...
00:10:01Uh...
00:10:17I'll be in touch.
00:10:19Okay.
00:10:20See you soon.
00:10:22See you soon.
00:10:22See you soon.
00:10:50I'll be in touch.
00:10:52I'll be in touch.
00:10:53I'll be in touch.
00:10:54I'll be in touch.
00:10:55I'll be in touch.
00:10:57I'll be in touch.
00:10:59I'll be in touch.
00:11:00I'll be in touch.
00:11:01I'll be in touch.
00:11:02I'll be in touch.
00:11:04I'll be in touch.
00:11:06I'll be in touch.
00:11:07I'll be in touch.
00:11:08I'll be in touch.
00:11:09I'll be in touch.
00:11:10I'll be in touch.
00:11:11I'll be in touch.
00:11:12I'll be in touch.
00:11:12I'll be in touch.
00:11:13I'll be in touch.
00:11:14I'll be in touch.
00:11:15I'll be in touch.
00:11:16I'll be in touch.
00:11:17I'll be in touch.
00:11:18I'll be in touch.
00:11:19I'll be in touch.
00:11:20Oh, that looks nice.
00:11:22Do you do this sort of thing when you plan those events?
00:11:25Sometimes.
00:11:26Last week I had a Fortune 500 conference.
00:11:28Oh.
00:11:29The hours are crazy, but I'm making really good contacts.
00:11:32Do you ever find time to sing anymore?
00:11:35I barely have time for a home-cooked meal.
00:11:38I mean, a thing in the shower, but not much anymore.
00:11:50I'll be in touch.
00:11:51Oh, I'll help you out.
00:11:52No problem.
00:11:53No problem.
00:11:54Here we go.
00:11:55Okay.
00:11:56I'm gonna take that around.
00:11:57There it is.
00:11:59Okay.
00:12:00Make sure that's good.
00:12:01Got it.
00:12:02Hello there.
00:12:03Whoa.
00:12:04Uh, hi.
00:12:05Uh, I don't think we're here.
00:12:19Uh, I don't think we've met before, Mr. Kringle.
00:12:24Chris Kringle?
00:12:26How'd you guess?
00:12:29Okay.
00:12:30So, Chris, you, uh, new to Long Grove?
00:12:35Uh, just visiting?
00:12:36Oh, I try to make a trip here at least once a year.
00:12:40Of course you do.
00:12:42Well, glad you're back.
00:12:44I'm Mayor Ortega.
00:12:46Anything you need, here to help.
00:12:48Actually, this trip was unexpected.
00:12:51Do you know a place I could stay for a couple days?
00:12:55Uh, yeah.
00:12:56The, the Holly Inn is, is a nice place.
00:12:58It's right over there.
00:13:00Well, thank you, Brian.
00:13:05Uh, that, that's my alarm for the city council meeting.
00:13:08I, I should get going.
00:13:09But again, if there's anything you need, I'm here to help.
00:13:13That's funny.
00:13:14I was going to say the same thing.
00:13:16Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho.
00:13:24He's really going all out this year.
00:13:26Did that Santa guy put you up to this?
00:13:36Hey, you guys are good.
00:13:37Hey, you guys are good.
00:13:54You guys are good.
00:14:24Yes!
00:14:54What just happened?
00:15:24Hey, excuse me, Mr. Reynolds.
00:15:28What was that?
00:15:30What was what?
00:15:31The music and the dancing.
00:15:33What just happened?
00:15:34What happened is, I need a place to put all these wreaths.
00:15:38Should I hang them on the new gazebo?
00:15:41Uh, why don't you try the fence over there?
00:15:44All right.
00:15:45Just give us the date and I'll make sure I'll put it in.
00:15:56Yes, I got you.
00:15:57You put it in the calendar?
00:15:58Dear Santa, can you make me dance like Fred Astaire?
00:16:11My mom loves him.
00:16:16Actually, this trip was unexpected.
00:16:18There's no way.
00:16:26Look.
00:16:29Huh?
00:16:32Not a lot of guests these days.
00:16:34I think those are the same exact jars from when I was a little girl.
00:16:37Probably.
00:16:41If we have time, we should...
00:16:43Time.
00:16:44I'm going to be late.
00:16:45For what?
00:16:46The city council meeting.
00:16:48Oh.
00:16:48I'm a business owner.
00:16:50I attend every one.
00:16:52Okay.
00:16:53Okay.
00:16:53Hey, John, talk to me.
00:17:02How bad is it?
00:17:03Well, as you know, the past two years, we've seen a decrease in all areas.
00:17:09You know, but those years were supposed to be just a blip.
00:17:11The blip is still very much still blipping, Mr. Mayor.
00:17:16Tourism is down again.
00:17:19And city maintenance is up.
00:17:21So, those ads in the upstate magazines and tax incentive not working?
00:17:25It's hard to compete with a spa resort they just built in Holly Falls.
00:17:29Everyone loves a spa.
00:17:30Does everyone love a spa, though?
00:17:33I know I do.
00:17:34Look, the numbers don't lie, Brian.
00:17:36We need to go in there and turn this around and reverse it.
00:17:39But also go forward.
00:17:41And, okay, we need to take what we have and make what we have fit what we need.
00:17:44So take what we have, make what we have fit what we need.
00:17:46Look, I don't know what you're saying, but meeting's starting.
00:17:48Gotta get in there.
00:17:49Let's not sound the alarm until we can figure out some solutions moving forward.
00:17:55Let's put on a good face.
00:17:56Let the town know we're on top of it.
00:18:00Yeah.
00:18:02So, uh, busy here, everyone.
00:18:04Uh, lots of goings-on that, uh, that continue going on.
00:18:14Well, we-we have gotten your requests to add to the budget.
00:18:20Numbers upon numbers.
00:18:24Do I have a fever?
00:18:26You feel okay to me.
00:18:27The budget is full.
00:18:29Of fullness.
00:18:31Well, um, no, the numbers are busy.
00:18:33No, we-we are-we are working.
00:18:35We-uh, we are-we're stretching.
00:18:37Yes, yes, yes, we are.
00:18:39Thank you so much.
00:18:40Really appreciate that.
00:18:41Yes.
00:18:42I may, uh, translate.
00:18:43I think we have a lot of budget requests for this coming year.
00:18:46Brian Ortega?
00:18:48I went to elementary school with him.
00:18:50Now, with Christmas, uh, around the corner, I'd like to ask if we have any volunteers who'd spearhead this year's, uh, tree donation.
00:19:01Anyone?
00:19:06Okay, thank you.
00:19:08Mr. Kringle, my assistant, Lee, will be in touch with the details.
00:19:11Huh.
00:19:12Well, it sounds like next year is gonna be one for the record books.
00:19:15A time where we can really see some growth in-in areas that-
00:19:19Uh, Mr. Mayor, may I, uh, address the town for a moment, please?
00:19:22Yes, Randall, of course.
00:19:26Thank you, thank you.
00:19:27Uh, hi there.
00:19:28Uh, you all probably know me.
00:19:30I'm Randall Withers of, uh, Withers Development Company.
00:19:33Long-time and proud resident of Long Grove.
00:19:36Uh, by the way, I hope you all have been enjoying the gazebo that I recently installed in the, uh, town square, yes?
00:19:46Ah, ah, please, please.
00:19:47Uh, Withers Development Company recently bought the plot of land just south of Main Street,
00:19:55and I have a proposal that I think will ultimately bring some increased revenue into Long Grove.
00:20:02And that plan is this, a luxury outdoor pedestrian mall, complete with, uh, mainstream brands and, uh, chain restaurants and, uh, wait for it, a spa.
00:20:17Ah!
00:20:17And all I would need to do in order to achieve this is buy the five properties on the southernmost part of Main Street.
00:20:25Isn't the inn on the southern side of Main Street?
00:20:29And, of course, I will, uh, remunerate all of these shop owners handsomely to do so, yes.
00:20:35So we have all seen what Holly Falls has done with their outgrowth and their expansion.
00:20:41And I see no reason why Long Grove shouldn't take a page out of their playbook and also make a little, uh, moulin for ourselves, right?
00:20:49Do something.
00:20:51Uh, Randall, thank you, thank you.
00:20:53Really, really appreciate your time.
00:20:55And we'll, uh, we'll definitely consider the, uh, possibility.
00:20:59However, I don't think we need to make any decisions right away.
00:21:02We have Christmas ahead and, and, and, and I'm proposing a big bonanza, a Christmastown festival.
00:21:29I'm glad I'm here for this.
00:21:31Yes, yes, it could be a, a fundraiser of, of sorts, but also a way to get some, uh, publicity out there for all Long Grove already has to offer.
00:21:41The money from the ticket sales will be a nice little boost, and it's a great way to celebrate this town.
00:21:46We can have festive food, uh, holiday games, and, and that thing, uh, you hammer and it hits the bell.
00:21:51The High Striker!
00:21:53Yes, the High Striker.
00:21:57Yeah?
00:21:59I know.
00:22:01Yes, the, the, the High Striker.
00:22:04Thank you, Nina Matt.
00:22:06Look, we have a lot to plan, but I hope you're as excited as I am for the, uh, the, the clause for celebration.
00:22:18Great name!
00:22:20Thank you, everyone.
00:22:21Oh, Mr. Mayor, I think we should, uh, talk soon.
00:22:37Yeah, why don't you come by my office tomorrow afternoon.
00:22:39All right, excellent.
00:22:40You give me progress equals profits.
00:22:43Yeah.
00:22:45Brian!
00:22:46Nina.
00:22:47Sorry to catch you off guard up there.
00:22:49I was more caught off guard than anyone knew the name for the High Striker.
00:22:52Oh, yeah.
00:22:53You, uh, home for law?
00:22:55I'm visiting my grandmother at the inn.
00:22:57I was overdue for a Long Grove Christmas, so.
00:23:00Oh, that's great.
00:23:01So you'll be in town for the new festival.
00:23:03Yes, and I love the name, by the way.
00:23:05Oh, the clause for a celebration?
00:23:08Yeah, that just sort of came to me.
00:23:10Mayor Ortega, I need your signature on these.
00:23:12Oh, sorry to interrupt.
00:23:14Oh, no worries.
00:23:14I have to get back to my grandmother anyway.
00:23:16I just wanted to say hello.
00:23:19Glad you did.
00:23:19Mr. Mayor?
00:23:22Yes?
00:23:22I didn't hear anything in the city council meeting about those flickering traffic lights.
00:23:28It could be they just need to replace the boulder, or maybe it's just some grime and gunk that got back there over time.
00:23:49Hi, again.
00:23:52Anna.
00:23:53Are you looking for Joey?
00:23:55Actually, I was looking for you.
00:23:57Today, you had that box, that letters to Santa box?
00:24:01Right, I painted that myself.
00:24:03The stripes took forever.
00:24:06Do you want me to make you one?
00:24:07No, thank you, though.
00:24:09I mean, it was lovely, but, um, I...
00:24:12What did you do with the letters in the box?
00:24:14I put them in the mailbox and sent them to the North Pole.
00:24:18The North Pole?
00:24:19How else would Santa get them?
00:24:21You can't just make a wish list.
00:24:23You have to send it off.
00:24:24It's a two-step process, from what I understand.
00:24:27True.
00:24:28Merry Christmas, Mr. Mayor.
00:24:31Let me know if you'd change your mind about the box.
00:24:34Merry Christmas, Anna.
00:24:35When you're here at 30, you can't even remember what you had for breakfast.
00:24:57Reminder, you have dinner with your dad tonight,
00:24:58and we need to track down that Kris Kringle for the Christmas tree donations.
00:25:05Silent night, holy night.
00:25:16All is kind, all is bright.
00:25:26Round yon virgin, mother and child.
00:25:32Holy infant, so tender.
00:25:41Sorry, I didn't realize I had an audience.
00:25:44Please, don't stop singing on my account.
00:25:46You sound amazing.
00:25:47Thanks.
00:25:49Uh, let me help you.
00:25:50It's, uh, it's kind of a strange thing to brag about,
00:25:53but I'm actually really good at Christmas decorations.
00:25:55The key is you gotta twist the branch.
00:25:57Let me, boom, pop up like that, see?
00:26:00Nice. Well, it's amazing to see the talents you've learned since I've been gone.
00:26:03Never mind the whole mayor thing.
00:26:05Eh, never mind that.
00:26:07So, what have you been up to for the last...
00:26:09Oh, please do not calculate the year since the fourth grade.
00:26:13Way too many to count.
00:26:14Good point.
00:26:16What have you been up to the last few years since you moved?
00:26:18Uh, let me guess, uh, lead singer in a band, married, dog named Hamilton.
00:26:25Ah, not even remotely close.
00:26:26Single.
00:26:27I gave up singing a few years ago, and I primarily focus on event planning,
00:26:32and a cat named Hamilton.
00:26:35Seriously?
00:26:36No.
00:26:37His name is Romeo.
00:26:39You haven't changed.
00:26:40A little help?
00:26:45Oh, thank you.
00:26:48Got you, Rump.
00:26:48What you doing here, Mr. Mayor?
00:26:51Oh, I'm just grilling your granddaughter about her beautiful voice.
00:26:54I say the same thing.
00:26:57How's your dad?
00:26:58I haven't seen him in ages.
00:27:00He's good.
00:27:01I'm on my way there after this, actually.
00:27:03Uh, please tell him I said hi.
00:27:05I will.
00:27:07Now, uh, how's your arm?
00:27:08Uh, what do you need?
00:27:09Well, after today, I need all the strength I can find after hearing Randall's plans.
00:27:14Just try to take the in from me.
00:27:17Oh, you tell him, Gami.
00:27:19Mm.
00:27:19You have nothing to worry about.
00:27:21He can have all the big plans he wants, but ultimately it's your choice.
00:27:24We may not be full every night, but as long as we have guests, I'm not going anywhere.
00:27:30Actually, uh, that's why I came by to see you.
00:27:32I had a question about a possible guest of yours.
00:27:35Oh, not to help me decorate?
00:27:37I too.
00:27:38What guest?
00:27:40Uh, this may sound kind of funny, but is there a Kris Kringle staying here?
00:27:45Who?
00:27:47Room 21.
00:27:48Wait, really?
00:27:50He's a lovely guest.
00:27:51Very tidy.
00:27:52Big fan of my cookies.
00:27:53Oh.
00:27:53Well, he volunteered a Christmas tree for the town.
00:27:57Wait.
00:27:57If you need a tree, you are welcome to check the back property here at the inn.
00:28:02That's where we got this beauty.
00:28:04Oh, that's a good-looking tree.
00:28:05Oh, we've got three acres of woods back there.
00:28:08Glenn and I always talked about adding some hotel amenities at some point, but we never
00:28:13got around to it.
00:28:14No, it's okay.
00:28:17Uh, are you free tomorrow, perhaps, for a Christmas tree adventure?
00:28:22Sure.
00:28:23Yeah.
00:28:23Tomorrow morning, I'll bring some hot chocolate for your troubles.
00:28:27Hmm.
00:28:28Extra marshmallows.
00:28:29See you tomorrow morning.
00:28:31Extra marshmallows.
00:28:32Don't forget.
00:28:32Hey, Dad, it's me.
00:28:40I got cheeseburgers.
00:28:42I'm in the studio.
00:28:45Wow.
00:28:48You been busy, huh?
00:28:49Yeah.
00:28:50Yeah, lots of commissions this time of year.
00:28:56People love giving paintings as Christmas presents, you know.
00:29:00I have two ready to be shipped.
00:29:02I mean, if you want to swing by the post office for me.
00:29:05Of course, I'll take them, Dad.
00:29:06I just thought maybe you'd like to get out.
00:29:08Decorations are going up.
00:29:09The town looks beautiful right now.
00:29:12I'll take your word for it, you know.
00:29:14Once I get in the zone with my work, I just want to hunker down, you know?
00:29:21Yeah.
00:29:22I know, Dad.
00:29:25Hey, you know, I was at the elementary school earlier today, and I saw the festival painting
00:29:30of yours.
00:29:30I just don't eat that.
00:29:33Yeah, a couple of years ago, when I was, you know, cleaning stuff up after your mom down.
00:29:38She always liked that one, too.
00:29:46I said she wanted to just jump in there and dance forever.
00:29:51There's something you want to tell me?
00:29:58Well, uh, remember, uh, remember when Mom and I used to watch those old Fred Astaire dance
00:30:05movies when I was a kid?
00:30:06Yeah, of course.
00:30:09All right, well, let's start there.
00:30:10Randall.
00:30:19Just the man I wanted to see.
00:30:21I thought we were meeting this afternoon.
00:30:24You bringing me some wrapping paper?
00:30:25Uh, not exactly.
00:30:28Uh, I just thought we could get a head start.
00:30:30Uh, future of Longrove can't wait, after all.
00:30:33Huh.
00:30:35Is that coffee I smell?
00:30:36Let me get your cup.
00:30:39Thanks.
00:30:46So where is all this?
00:30:48Well, uh, after your very, uh, timely announcement of the festival the other day, something interesting
00:30:54has come up.
00:30:56I went down to the surveyor's office and had Longrove's lot lines rechecked.
00:31:02Okay.
00:31:04Were you aware that this piece of land right here, my recently purchased land, uh, has
00:31:10been used as Longrove's unofficial events grounds for years?
00:31:14It's, it's, it's true, you can see it right there, see?
00:31:20No, I, I, I wasn't aware.
00:31:23Oh.
00:31:25And I'm, I'm just, uh, assuming that's where you're planning on having the festival, right?
00:31:30Yeah.
00:31:31Oh.
00:31:34Brian, look, we're on the same team here, right?
00:31:39We both grew up in Longrove.
00:31:41Look, I want people to enjoy this town for generations to come as much as you do.
00:31:45And I think this will help.
00:31:50Just, just take a look.
00:31:53Yeah?
00:31:53Yeah.
00:31:53Mm.
00:32:10Mm.
00:32:12Wow.
00:32:13I told you.
00:32:14Hell's has the best in town.
00:32:16Nair's not supposed to choose favorites, so you didn't hear that from me.
00:32:19Uh, you know, I'm not surprised, by the way.
00:32:23That I chose the best out of chocolate?
00:32:25That you're the mayor.
00:32:26Hmm.
00:32:27You're always the first one to raise your hand, to collect the lunch trays, or wash the chalkboard.
00:32:32Eh, what can I say?
00:32:33I like to help out.
00:32:35I didn't realize there was so much property back here.
00:32:37I know, right?
00:32:38I played out here all the time when I was a little girl.
00:32:43What a cool place to be a kid.
00:32:45You know, my grandparents bought this the week they got married.
00:32:50She's not going to give it up.
00:32:53I got a visit from Randall this morning.
00:32:56He thinks he has a plan that can really help Longrove, but I'm not so sure.
00:33:03He's trying to derail our festival plans.
00:33:05Is there anything that you can do?
00:33:09I'm working on it, but getting new permits for the rides for a new location is...
00:33:14Who needs rides?
00:33:15I mean, we could bring in gorgeous ice sculptures, or hundreds of poinsettias, or maybe even one of those...
00:33:22I think you may be misjudging our budget just a bit.
00:33:25Okay, okay, so we'll get creative, okay?
00:33:27I love a challenge.
00:33:29Well, we need a venue first.
00:33:32Hey, Brian!
00:33:33What about this one?
00:33:35What?
00:33:37What?
00:33:40Has this always been here?
00:33:41It's perfect, actually.
00:33:43Yeah, great find.
00:33:45It's sort of my thing.
00:33:47Kris Kringle, it's good to see you again.
00:33:50Do you want me to get this tree into town for you?
00:33:53By yourself?
00:33:54Not a problem.
00:33:55I do it all the time.
00:33:57That would actually allow us more time to go look for another venue.
00:34:00Yeah, okay.
00:34:03Uh, great.
00:34:04You kids run along.
00:34:06Enjoy the ride.
00:34:07I'm sorry?
00:34:08I said enjoy your time.
00:34:09Oh, watch it.
00:34:17Oh, thank you.
00:34:19Sorry, but...
00:34:19I'll put it in the back.
00:34:20It's on the list.
00:34:21Well, I guess you better add this to the list as well.
00:34:33Unbelievable.
00:34:34Yeah.
00:34:36What's one more thing?
00:34:37I'll call a tell.
00:34:38Let's go, Brian.
00:34:42Yeah.
00:34:42Your alternator is messed up.
00:34:44I can get it back to you two days tops.
00:34:47Days?
00:34:48Well, not exactly what I was hoping to hear.
00:34:50I'm not going to leave you hanging.
00:34:51I got you covered.
00:34:52I got you a loaner.
00:34:53Look at those keys.
00:34:54All right.
00:35:02Did you hear that?
00:35:04The doorbell?
00:35:06Oh, I...
00:35:08I thought it was something else.
00:35:10All right, check it out.
00:35:11Just got her in a day.
00:35:12A little paperwork nonsense,
00:35:14but I think it's going to do just fine.
00:35:20A 57 Chevy Corvette?
00:35:23Ooh, I love the candy cane red.
00:35:26This is my childhood dream car.
00:35:28Like, exactly.
00:35:30What a coincidence.
00:35:38Drive a 57 Chevy Red Corvette?
00:35:48Oh, I love that.
00:35:57Oh.
00:35:59Oh.
00:36:00Okay.
00:36:00Seeing how it feels.
00:36:01You don't care if I drive it first, do you?
00:36:03I've never driven a classic car yeah sure you can go first hey what's another 15 minutes after I've waited 30 years
00:36:16Have I mentioned how much I miss long girl once or twice
00:36:22Why is this so good this Christmas and everything tastes better at Christmas
00:36:33You know that Christmas morning feeling when you open a gift. It's like a mixture between
00:36:38curiosity and
00:36:40Exhilaration
00:36:44I'm sorry I searched for a venue today turn into a total a greasy garage
00:36:49You mean you're sorry I got to hang out with you in an awesome car and have the best fudge I've ever had
00:36:56Don't be
00:36:59I should get you back to the end
00:37:02However this time I'm driving. Oh, okay. We'll see no no no no no
00:37:07I'll make sure you get in the passenger side
00:37:10After you miss
00:37:12Wait is that?
00:37:15No way you got that here all by himself
00:37:20Hey Chris
00:37:24That looks great, okay, well that's one less thing we need to worry about now. We just need a venue
00:37:31Oh
00:37:36Randall
00:37:37My late husband and I built this business from the ground up
00:37:41It's an amazing offer. It really is but the end means too much to me
00:37:47Of course course Ratha I understand
00:37:50But you do have to remind yourself what this place is gonna feel like when you go from virtually no guests to
00:37:56No guests at all
00:38:01Is everything okay got me anything we can help you with Randall
00:38:05No, but thank you very much. I'm just talking to my friend Ratha here. Oh, have you had a chance to consider that proposal?
00:38:11I I mentioned actually I've been a little too busy with a festival finding ways to
00:38:15Celebrate this town rather than change it
00:38:19The the festival your little thing count me in for several tickets anything for Long Grove, right?
00:38:25Just uh, just let me know where and when
00:38:28Emphasis on the where of course
00:38:34It's going to be here
00:38:36The clause for celebration is going to be here
00:38:41Hey, there we go
00:38:44Location handled. How many tickets would you like there Randall?
00:38:48I'll I'll get back to you on that
00:38:50Offer still stands miss Madden
00:38:53Have a good one
00:38:55You too
00:38:57Okay, I've started a list so you'll get the permits in order and I will work with Gami to get the property ready to host and then
00:39:14You don't have to do this Nina. I I appreciate it, but I know you're here to visit your grandmother not help me. I
00:39:21May have moved to the city, but Long Grove will always be my home. So like I was saying
00:39:25Let's make a list
00:39:31List
00:39:34Nina
00:39:35Do you by chance happen to remember your fourth grade Christmas list?
00:39:41fourth grade?
00:39:43I'm sure it had something to do with singing
00:39:46Did that ever come true for you? I did for a little while
00:39:50But then I became an adult and I had to get a real job
00:39:53So you started planning events?
00:39:55It's a much different life than I had imagined, but it is what it is
00:40:00You still sing?
00:40:03Only when I'm happy
00:40:05What about you mr. Mayor what's on your fourth grade Christmas list?
00:40:09This is crazy, but

00:41:46But close
00:41:47Well, don't worry dad. I've already got some inspiration. We're moving the festival to wrap this property

00:43:50We'll talk later
00:43:51Hey

00:44:51Oh
00:44:57Oh
00:44:59Let's hear it from Mayor Ortega and a $5,000 donation to the Anna Ortega Dance Foundation.
00:45:14What was that?
00:45:16A little Christmas spirit, I guess.
00:45:20Oh, yeah.
00:45:23Oh, my gosh.
00:45:29I'd make a basket from half-court in front of the whole school.
00:45:39Hey, you disappeared.
00:45:40I just kind of had to soak that up for a minute.
00:45:43That was wild.
00:45:44Right?
00:45:45Yes.
00:45:48Wait a second.
00:45:49Is that the...
00:45:53Oh, how does it smell the exact same?
00:45:58And, like, piano keys and...
00:46:00And painted plywood.
00:46:02Hey, here we go.
00:46:03That's better.
00:46:13You know, my parents used to sit right there, front left.
00:46:18My mom would always wink and wave at me through the crack in the curtain.
00:46:23I bet she's so proud of you.
00:46:28You know, I've been back here for two days, and all I see is how much you take care of others.
00:46:36Kind of comes with a job.
00:46:38No.
00:46:39It comes with the person.
00:46:43You know, I didn't get a chance to ask you yesterday what...
00:46:46Just something that makes you happy.
00:46:48Real cokes.
00:46:55Classic cars.
00:46:56Classic Christmas movies.
00:46:58Putting away my cell phone and putting on some music and, uh...
00:47:02Watching my dad paint.
00:47:05Good stuff.
00:47:09You know, being here on stage with you...
00:47:11Makes me pretty happy also.
00:47:13Cue the spotlight.
00:47:26Cue the spotlight.
00:47:28Actually, I think it might have went a little more like...
00:47:42Duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh.
00:47:45Duh-duh-duh-duh-duh.
00:47:47Turn.
00:47:48And...
00:47:48Okay, stage crew.
00:47:52You learn a thing or two after watching so many rehearsals.
00:47:54Dance with me.
00:47:55No, no, I couldn't keep up.
00:47:57Yeah, you can.
00:47:57Come on, just try.
00:47:58Come on, just try.
00:47:58And...
00:48:23Sorry, I got carried away a little bit.
00:48:35You should have tried out for the show.
00:48:38Yeah, no, I like to be backstage.
00:48:40Yeah, always taking care of others.
00:48:44Brian, they're waiting for you to take photos with the student council.
00:48:48Right.
00:48:51Coming.
00:48:53What's come over me?
00:49:19Everything I see, the colors seem brighter for sure.
00:49:28The old I see and new, I haven't got a clue why I couldn't see it before.
00:49:38The comfort of home, I feel such a thrill.
00:49:46The best that I've known, I've lived and filled.
00:49:51I've never felt this kind of bliss.
00:49:56Oh, what have I missed?
00:50:00Oh, what have I missed?
00:50:18As I reminisce, I can't figure it out
00:50:30Why seeing all this is touching me now
00:50:37I've never felt this kind of bliss
00:50:43Oh, what have I missed?
00:51:04They just don't make them like that anymore.
00:51:07They sure don't.
00:51:08They just don't make them like Fred Astaire anymore, either.
00:51:10Oh, come on. It was one of a kind.
00:51:15So, what's next on the list?
00:51:21I wish I knew.
00:51:24Oh, Dad, I wanted to ask you a favor.
00:51:28What's up?
00:51:29Well, we need a local artist for the ornament station
00:51:33to help people paint the ornaments
00:51:35and hang them on the tree, you know.
00:51:37Well, let me think about that a little bit.
00:51:43I mean, that's a lot of people.
00:51:46Take your time.
00:51:47It's all good.
00:51:50By the way, I forgot to tell you
00:51:52that I went to the school auditorium yesterday
00:51:54and saw the backdrop that they have in the corner
00:51:57for the Christmas show,
00:51:58and, oh, man, it didn't look good.
00:52:01It was oof.
00:52:04What do you mean?
00:52:06The snow wasn't right,
00:52:07and the painting was cracked,
00:52:09and it just looked real run down,
00:52:11like they'd been using the same one for ages.
00:52:14A run down, huh?
00:52:15Mm-hmm.
00:52:18Well, I'm almost finished with my commissions
00:52:20for the end of the year.
00:52:21Maybe I could see if Mrs. Colvin
00:52:25could use a little help.
00:52:27That's a great idea.
00:52:29I never thought of that.
00:52:30Yeah.
00:52:31I'm on to you, pal.
00:52:42Hey, Nina.
00:52:43You down for some crepes?
00:52:45Who's Nina?
00:52:47I don't pick you up.
00:52:48No, who's Nina?
00:52:49See you later, Dad.
00:52:50Who's Nina?
00:53:05Here you go.
00:53:07Ooh.
00:53:16Huh?
00:53:17Mm.
00:53:20Seriously?
00:53:22It's good.
00:53:22Better than New York.
00:53:24I mean, maybe because I'm not eating on the go.
00:53:28I'm sitting and savoring each bite,
00:53:31appreciating the atmosphere,
00:53:34enjoying my company.
00:53:35You forget how great Long Grove is.
00:53:38You've been in New York for too long.
00:53:40It was just a matter of time.
00:53:41Hm.
00:53:49Are you okay?
00:53:52Yeah.
00:53:56No.
00:53:57Not really.
00:53:58Are you worried about the festival?
00:54:00Not just the festival.
00:54:02Beyond the festival.
00:54:04I love this town.
00:54:06It's just that these other towns,
00:54:08they have these big spas and these,
00:54:10these brand new shopping centers and
00:54:12it's just getting hard to keep up.
00:54:15I'm not sure I'm doing what's best.
00:54:18I get it.
00:54:19You, you want to keep Long Grove as it's always been
00:54:22and how it, how it should always be.
00:54:23Just trust yourself.
00:54:26Don't give in to...
00:54:28Randall.
00:54:28Yes, Randall.
00:54:30No, Randall.
00:54:44Say coffee.
00:54:46Good morning.
00:54:48We'd really love to get you on board too.
00:54:51Enjoy your breakfast.
00:54:52It's time to make this festival great.
00:55:03We need to get the word out.
00:55:05Joey.
00:55:06Joey.
00:55:22Okay.
00:55:38So this is where you come to think.
00:55:40I have a little brother and he needs a Christmas present.
00:55:43Don't read too much into it.
00:55:44Could you, uh, print this flyer in your school newspaper?
00:55:50Trying to get the word out to all the families in town.
00:55:53Of course, but it doesn't get you out of your Christmas piece.
00:55:55Hey, you scratch my back, I scratch yours.
00:55:58Deal?
00:55:59Deal.
00:56:01So where's this shindig gonna be held?
00:56:03The Holly Inn.
00:56:04It's the perfect place to host a festival for this amazing town.
00:56:07And what makes Long Grove so amazing?
00:56:13Well...
00:56:14The only place in the world that has a sock bookie museum?
00:56:16Exactly.
00:56:21Mr. Mayor, I'll be in touch.
00:56:28Well?
00:56:29How'd it go?
00:56:29Well, Joey's gonna get the word out to the kids and parents.
00:56:32And we can distribute the rest of these.
00:56:34Great.
00:56:36I'm doing the right thing, right?
00:56:38Yes.
00:56:39I'm not gonna let Withers take over this town, right?
00:56:42No.
00:56:44Okay.
00:56:45Good.
00:56:46This town is lucky to have you.
00:56:49I am the mayor.
00:56:51I've already told you.
00:56:53It's the person.
00:56:54Oh, come on, stage crew.
00:56:55We gotta get this town excited for a festival.
00:56:58Thank you, and you have a glorious day.
00:57:11Mr. Mayor, how's the peppermint soap feeling?
00:57:14My Christmas morning.
00:57:16Hey, Winston, would you be willing to put up a soap booth
00:57:18for the Claws for Celebration Festival?
00:57:20Your homemade soaps are next level.
00:57:23I'd love to.
00:57:24Nice.
00:57:24Nice.
00:57:24I have to try and figure out what scents
00:57:29that festival-goers would like.
00:57:31Oh, maybe cinnamon ginger.
00:57:34I'll leave you to it, Winston.
00:57:35Thanks for the suds.
00:57:36Oh, vanilla sugarplum.
00:57:39Oh, maybe some winterberry bubble bath.
00:57:42Ryan, here to collect your scarves?
00:57:52That, and to see if you'd be interested
00:57:54in setting up a booth for the store at the festival?
00:57:56Maybe really get some of this inventory moving?
00:57:59I love that idea.
00:58:00We're in.
00:58:02Nice.
00:58:03Sure.
00:58:04I'll take this one in red if you have it.
00:58:08Good choice.
00:58:08Oh, what a day.
00:58:14It sounds like you could use this.
00:58:23Ah, okay.
00:58:25So you can always keep a long row of clothes
00:58:40after you leave and go back to New York.
00:58:45Yeah.
00:58:47You okay?
00:58:49Yeah.
00:58:51No, not really.
00:58:53I'm just thinking what life would have been like
00:58:56if we hadn't moved.
00:59:00Yeah.
00:59:05I've thought about that, too.
00:59:06I wanted to tell you something.
00:59:16I have something to tell you, too.
00:59:19You can go first.
00:59:21I just found out we're moving at the end of the year.
00:59:25My dad got a job in New York.
00:59:28Oh.
00:59:29What did you want to tell me?
00:59:37Nothing as exciting as you news.
00:59:39I'll miss Longrove, though.
00:59:41I'll miss you.
00:59:46Ryan, the curtains!
00:59:47Nina, you're on!
00:59:49Ladies and gentlemen,
00:59:51Miss Nina Madden.
00:59:52Wait!
01:00:13Bye!
01:00:14Hey, Lee.
01:00:29I'm not sure I can hold down the fort without you much longer.
01:00:32Yeah, I'm so sorry.
01:00:33We've just been busy with cluster celebration stuff.
01:00:36Well, I had about 12 calls today
01:00:38adding to the list for maintenance.
01:00:40All right, I'll be right there.
01:00:42Sorry, but...
01:00:44I mean, it's okay.
01:00:45Go ahead. I have to go see Mrs. Colvin anyway.
01:00:48See you later.
01:01:09The most famous artist to come out of Long Grove.
01:01:12My family's favorite painter.
01:01:16I have a Michael Ortega original
01:01:19hanging in my apartment right now in New York City.
01:01:22Every time I look at it,
01:01:24it reminds me of home.
01:01:28Art.
01:01:29It always seems to do that, doesn't it?
01:01:33I mean, it's beautiful.
01:01:35I love how you captured the Long Grove Bridge.
01:01:40But you can't forget about the new town tree.
01:01:44You know, I don't think I've seen it yet.
01:01:46I'm Nina Madden.
01:01:49Young Nina Madden.
01:01:51Most famous singer to ever come out of Long Grove.
01:01:54And you're my family's favorite artist.
01:01:57Well, I didn't have quite the same success.
01:02:01I'm successful because I get to paint every day.
01:02:05No matter where or for whom.
01:02:07It's what I am.
01:02:09And without it,
01:02:11it wouldn't be me.
01:02:14You're a singer.
01:02:16You love to sing.
01:02:19Success
01:02:20is finding a way to do it.
01:02:24No matter where you are.
01:02:25Oh, yay, Nina's here.
01:02:34Yay, Nina's here.
01:02:36Well, I think that's my cue.
01:02:38Get a better look at that town tree, huh?
01:02:49Our friend Nina is here today
01:02:51to help us sing
01:02:52and get our voices in great shape.
01:02:53Okay, let's warm up.
01:02:55Repeat after me.
01:02:56La, la, la, la, la, la, la.
01:02:59La, la, la, la, la, la, la.
01:03:02Good.
01:03:04All right.
01:03:06I just need you to, uh,
01:03:07I don't know if you're also.
01:03:13Maybe it's just a sign.
01:03:17Right there.
01:03:23Perfect.
01:03:26All right.
01:03:38Hey, there it is.
01:03:44You've got other things to do.
01:03:46Let me finish up here.
01:03:47You sure about that?
01:03:50Trust me.
01:04:08What's going on?
01:04:09It's like a movie.
01:04:31It's like a movie.
01:04:31Wish number four.
01:04:45A white Christmas dance solo.
01:04:46It's like a movie.
01:06:13The light looks great.
01:06:25It's like a movie.
01:06:41It's like a movie.
01:07:11It's like a movie.
01:07:42Sure.
01:07:44You can speak freely.
01:07:45Okay.
01:07:46I tried everything.
01:07:47Okay, the numbers are not numbering them the way we want them to.
01:07:50There are several numbers.
01:07:51Whoa, whoa, whoa.
01:07:52Slow down.
01:07:54We still have hundreds of tickets left.
01:07:57This fundraiser, it's not even going to be able to cover the cost of the maintenance budget for the next year.
01:08:04And we're nowhere near that.
01:08:06So, none of the outreach to Holly Falls, Redmont, Hammond, Greenwood, none of that worked?
01:08:12It's going to take more than a festival to fix our problems.
01:08:14We need something drastic to change.
01:08:22We are out of options.
01:08:24What are we going to do?
01:08:25Am I the only one in this town that wants to keep it as it is?
01:08:38Maybe I'm the one that needs to change.
01:08:40Ryan.
01:08:40I just...
01:08:41I just need to think right now.
01:08:45We'll see y'all later.
01:08:49Even when he's sad, he's really handsome, you know?
01:08:51Do it for Longrove!
01:09:14Ryan?
01:09:18Hello.
01:09:18I was, uh, pleasantly surprised to get your call.
01:09:23Thank you, Lee.
01:09:48Hi.
01:09:55I was on my way home, but I feel like we need to talk.
01:10:09Is this about your meeting with Randall?
01:10:12Please tell me you did not make a deal with him.
01:10:15It's not as simple as it looks.
01:10:18If you sign those papers and the last shop agrees, it'll just be Ratha against all of you.
01:10:25Actually, it'll be Ratha and me against all of you.
01:10:29I don't know what to do other than embrace the reality.
01:10:32This town's not going to be able to keep up.
01:10:33Even with the clause for celebration, even if I fix every streetlight by myself, it's not going to work.
01:10:44So that's it, huh?
01:10:47Well, Mr. Mayor, you do what you gotta do.
01:10:50Hi.
01:11:03This young man wanted to interview me because he's doing a story on you.
01:11:07I'd suggest that we all talk.
01:11:09I don't think this is a good time.
01:11:11Let's talk about why.
01:11:13Because I'm in way too honest a mood.
01:11:15So, you're telling me Santa's here and your fourth-grade wish list is coming true?
01:11:30Item by item.
01:11:33And even though it's fun and exciting and even a little crazy,
01:11:38it's not really giving me what I want anymore.
01:11:40And worst of all, the woman I love is mad at me.
01:11:44So, if you can make your wish list now, as a grown-up, what would be on it?
01:11:55Good question.
01:11:59First of all, I'd wish that everyone could see the charming gem that Longrove is
01:12:05before it becomes another high-end shopping center.
01:12:08It's quain and unique and beautiful, and the people here are some of the best you'll find.
01:12:14All the hot chocolate isn't from France, and the scars aren't cashmere, and we don't have a spa.
01:12:19But I wish there was a way to remind people that bells and whistles aren't what make something special,
01:12:24or so much more than all that, especially during the holidays.
01:12:27We're like that more happy Christmas feeling all year long.
01:12:32Well, that is a great wish.
01:12:36And next, I make the town's clause for celebration of success without stretching the town's non-existent budget.
01:12:42I wish these people could see that they don't need to have a big festival for others.
01:12:46They alone are reason enough to celebrate.
01:12:48It's all the love they pour into everything and into everyone they meet.
01:12:53That's enough reason to celebrate right there.
01:12:54This community deserves so much more than I can give it, and I just, I just wish I would have figured it out in time for Christmas.
01:13:04And finally, I wish I had the courage to tell Nina Madden how I really feel about her before she leaves again.
01:13:14Great!
01:13:16Great!
01:13:17Great?
01:13:18That was awesome!
01:13:20This is what I was talking about when I said to speak from the heart.
01:13:23Listen, Mayor, I can't solve your problems, but I can say that you are doing a great job, and I wish that you saw that.
01:13:30Thank you for taking the time to speak with the Long Grove Elementary School newspaper.
01:13:34Wait, I, I kind of blacked out. What'd I say?
01:13:37Sounds like you finally figured out what makes Long Grove so amazing.
01:13:40Like you said, the people of this town are the best there is.
01:13:43Go talk to your people. They'll understand.
01:13:51Dinner at my house, one hour.
01:14:08Joey!
01:14:09Hi, I made copies.
01:14:11I'm sorry?
01:14:12Brian's interview, we finished, and I thought before I published it, you'd want to see it first.
01:14:17Yeah, these are cool.
01:14:37Oh, hey.
01:14:38Maybe I'll take them to the festival, you know, sell them at the ornament station.
01:14:46That'd be great.
01:14:49I've been thinking a lot about you and your mom this Christmas.
01:14:53I can see why you like being involved in the community.
01:14:56Dad, I don't know what I'm going to do about this class for celebration.
01:15:10We don't have enough attractions.
01:15:12We haven't sold enough tickets.
01:15:13We don't...
01:15:14Let me stop you right there.
01:15:16What do you mean by saying that you don't have?
01:15:18What do you have?
01:15:22We got Hal Bakery's gingerbread muffins and hot chocolate.
01:15:26A cup of gold coffee.
01:15:27It's a great start.
01:15:29We basically have everything that Longrove has to offer.
01:15:33Exactly right.
01:15:37That's enough.
01:15:37Oh, my God.
01:15:56Hey.
01:15:57I need a favor.
01:15:59Are you familiar with the town of Longrove?
01:16:01Well, have I got a story for you.
01:16:07Nina!
01:16:24Nina!
01:16:25Bonnie, are you okay?
01:16:28We're fully booked.
01:16:29What?
01:16:30The inn is fully booked.
01:16:32The papers.
01:16:32I'll have this article.
01:16:33You won't believe what it says.
01:16:35Well, I saw a sneak peek.
01:16:36So many big tins.
01:16:38So many bookings.
01:16:44Nina.
01:16:45You were right, Nina.
01:16:47I can't wish away these problems or take them on myself.
01:16:50I need to tell everyone what's going on.
01:16:55Look at this.
01:16:58It looks like the story got out about Longrove.
01:17:00Joey's story went national.
01:17:03Wow.
01:17:04I guess I underestimated Joey.
01:17:06But you had a little help.
01:17:07The best part about being an event planner are all the contacts that you make.
01:17:11So, if you read the article, then you know...
01:17:16Yeah.
01:17:17I'm kind of crazy about you, too.
01:17:20But right now, we need to figure out how we're going to fit all these people into Longrove.
01:17:26There's people coming?
01:17:27Yes.
01:17:27For the Claus for Celebration.
01:17:29The inn is booked from Christmas through New Year's.
01:17:32And Fourth of July is booking up fast.
01:17:35Brian, you did it.
01:17:39Not yet.
01:17:42Hey, Lee.
01:17:44We need to call an emergency city hall meeting.
01:17:46That's right.
01:17:47So, I'm sure you've all seen the papers.
01:17:54Well, first of all, I'd just like to apologize.
01:17:56I haven't exactly been honest with you on how much trouble this town has been in.
01:18:03And I was wrong.
01:18:05What makes Longrove so amazing?
01:18:14A really talented journalist and a close friend of mine has been asking me why I think it's so special.
01:18:21And I couldn't really answer that until today.
01:18:25I realized that what makes this place special is the love within the community and the authenticity of our town.
01:18:39This, this is the place that people go to take a break from the daily grind.
01:18:46And it took all of you to remind me of that.
01:18:50People want to get back to the simple, happy pleasures that Longrove is so abundant in.
01:18:59And that's what we're going to remind them of with this festival.
01:19:05And you know what?
01:19:06They're going to come back the next time they need to feel that connection.
01:19:10And they're going to tell their friends that Longrove is the town that isn't trying to keep up.
01:19:15We may be 50 miles from New York, but we are very proudly a world away.
01:19:29However, I'm going to need your help.
01:19:35I could bring my new litter of kittens for people to pet.
01:19:39Yeah, I love that.
01:19:40I could decorate my tractor like a sleigh and give rides.
01:19:47That'd be great.
01:19:49All right.
01:19:51Who's with me?
01:19:51Who's with me?
01:20:10Was all this on your wish list?
01:20:20Oh, you read about my wish list?
01:20:22Uh, yeah.
01:20:22Yeah, that's true.
01:20:24Hey, how you doing?
01:20:27Please, please come in.
01:20:29Merry Christmas, everyone.
01:20:30As promised, your favorite.
01:20:43Oh, thank you, Sabine.
01:20:46Mmm.
01:20:47Yes.
01:20:55Hey, hi.
01:20:56This is great.
01:21:00Oh, cheers, too.
01:21:03Ooh, you got nice coloring going.
01:21:05Yeah.

01:21:07Look at that.
01:21:08Look at that.
01:21:09Wow, I'm so happy to see you.
01:21:25Have a fun time.
01:21:30Hey there.
01:21:32Merry Christmas.
01:21:33Merry Christmas, Brian.
01:21:35Merry Christmas, Randall.
01:21:36No, I see a lot of faces here I don't recognize.
01:21:40I like it.
01:21:42Well, word must have got out that Long Grove's the perfect Christmas town.
01:21:47As is.
01:21:48Yes.
01:21:49Oh, which reminds me, at some point I would love to bend your ear about how to best use my lot.
01:21:55Oh, well, my grandmother has always wanted to expand tennis court, pool.
01:22:01That's interesting.
01:22:02Or maybe an art gallery.
01:22:05Ah, I like the sound of that.
01:22:10I wouldn't even mind how to get it off the ground.
01:22:13Withers Galleria d'Arte.
01:22:17What?
01:22:17Dang it.
01:22:18Eh, spitballing.
01:22:20Either way, we'll be talking soon.
01:22:22Lots of exciting things to discuss, yeah?
01:22:25Absolutely.
01:22:25Have a good night, guys.
01:22:34Hey there, Mr. Journalist of the Year.
01:22:36Hey there, Mr. Mayor of the Year.
01:22:39I don't know what to say, Joey.
01:22:40Uh, thanks for getting it out of me.
01:22:44A good writer knows the story will always reveal itself in time.
01:22:49Couldn't have done it without you, kid.
01:22:51Stop it already.
01:22:52I gotta go find Hannah.
01:22:53She promised me to do that thing with the, uh, the hammer, the, uh...

01:23:21Very happy.
01:23:22Great.
01:23:24Do you...
01:23:25want...
01:23:26to do the cotton candy with me?
01:23:30I'd love to.
01:23:31Come on.
01:23:32No, wait.
01:23:34Okay.
01:23:38Congratulations, Brian.
01:23:39Thank you for all your help.

01:23:55Is this yours?
01:23:55I don't need that anymore.
01:24:04All my wishes came true.
01:24:06Well, almost all.
01:24:09Ladies and gentlemen, Miss Nina Madden.
01:24:12This is for you, stage crew.
01:24:14Oh, what's come over me?
01:24:29Everything I see.
01:24:32The colors seem brighter for sure.
01:24:37The old I see anew.
01:24:41I haven't got a clue.
01:24:43Why, I couldn't see it before.
01:24:49The comfort of home now feels such thrill.
01:24:55The best that I've known, uplifted and filled.
01:25:01I've never felt this kind of bliss.
01:25:05What have I missed?
01:25:09I see it's so clear.
01:25:28I figured it out.
01:25:30I'm staying right here.
01:25:34Cause I can't live without
01:25:38The feeling of this kind of bliss.
