00:00You're out of touch, and I would like you to consider an offer.
00:05I am not for sale.
00:07The first trailer for The Gentleman is coming in hot,
00:09showcasing Matthew McConaughey as a serious crime boss,
00:12alongside fellow stars Henry Golding, Hugh Grant, and Charlie Hunnam.
00:16The film from Guy Ritchie centers on American Mickey Pearson,
00:19played by McConaughey, who has built a marijuana empire in London
00:22and is looking to retire.
00:24The news that Pearson wants to cash out sparks a series of schemes
00:27and infighting among those around him,
00:28as they seek to take what he's built.
00:30Now, I can't be specific about the heroes and zeros,
00:34but our protagonist is a hungry animal.
00:38There is a lot of money hanging in the balance.
00:41The Gentleman harkens back to earlier works from Ritchie,
00:43who is known for comedic crime movies such as Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels,
00:47as well as the Sherlock Holmes films.
00:49It does make a considerable difference to me,
00:51having someone with me on whom I can thoroughly rely on.
00:54It was nice to see you, Watson.
00:55Most recently, Ritchie crossed the $1 billion mark with Disney's Aladdin over the summer.
01:01In The Gentleman, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Eddie Marzen, and Colin Farrell, also star.
01:06If you smell smoke, it's because there's a fire.
01:09So you're going to have to stamp that out quickly.
01:12These people are going to clean house, and you are part of that house.
01:17The Gentleman busts into theaters early next year on January 24, 2020.
01:21To see more of Matthew McConaughey not in a Lincoln, check out the full trailer on THR.com.
01:25Until next time, for The Hollywood Reporter News, I'm Tiffany Taylor.
