This week on the Inside Elland Road Podcast, Graham Smyth and Chris O’Connor dig into the big questions facing Leeds United as the international break arrives.
Top of the agenda is the ongoing Dominic Calvert-Lewin conundrum — what is and what’s not clicking? The lads also debate the one key change they’d make as judgement time looms.

00:01Yeah, I think what I took from it is that this Leeds United team doesn't crumble.
00:09I mean, Arsenal obviously still remains an outlier, which is good.
00:13You don't want to see that often.
00:14But I remember when Leeds went out of the Premier League,
00:18I remember watching a team who would concede a goal and that was that.
00:20In fact, they played Spurs, didn't they, on the final day?
00:24And Spurs scored an early goal and everyone in the stadium knew that was it.
00:30Leeds were down.
00:31You know, they were not going to come back and win that game
00:32because they didn't have enough about them.
00:34They didn't have a particularly great reserve of courage or character
00:39and they would crumble.
00:40They crumbled at Bournemouth away.
00:42There was other games where they conceded and heads just went
00:45and it was like their punch resistance had gone entirely.
00:48Whereas this Leeds team, at least so far this season,
00:52at a fairly early stage, has shown a really decent chin, like a granite chin.
00:57You know, they concede the first goal to a very, very good team
01:00and yet they stick in it and they come back and they score a good goal.
01:07Well, a well-worked goal, but slightly fortunate, I guess, with the finish.
01:13Aronson, again, getting into a really, really good position.
01:16He does seem to pop up, like he did before Longstaff's goal,
01:19pops up in great areas.
01:21He just doesn't seem to have either the luck or the shot par
01:27or the technical acumen to turn that into a goal for himself.
01:31But he does make the keeper make a save
01:33and then Okafor's in exactly the right place.
01:34And yeah, at 1-1, you're thinking, God, they really are in a game here, Spurs,
01:38and this is not going to be easy for them at all,
01:41which is just Leeds United ticking boxes that we really wanted to see ticked
01:45before a ball was kicked this season.
01:47And we wanted to see a team that had character, that had resilience,
01:50that could compete, that could stick in games and give themselves a chance.
01:53So, let's get that.
01:58So, let's get started.
02:00I mean, we'll be in the middle of the year.
02:02So, let's get started.
02:03Let's get started.
02:04Let's start.
02:05Let's start.
