00:00It's exciting at the start of the school term for parents and for children alike and my message is
00:05that all of us, government, parents and schools, we've all got to pull together because it's the
00:10chance for us to get off to a strong start, especially around attendance. We know if children
00:15miss a day or two at the start of their term, they're more likely to go on to be regularly out
00:20of school during the year. That has a big impact on children, on their life chances and we know the
00:25evidence is clear about what it can mean, for example, about getting good, strong, exam
00:29grades. So we're investing more as a government in support for families, but let's work together
00:34on that effort to get more children in the school and on a regular basis.
