00:06Now you'll be very aware if you keep an eye on any of our content how much we try our best to show love and support to local businesses with great messages and missions.
00:13And one of our favourite places in the entire region announced earlier this week that they will be closing their doors.
00:19Feel Good Club in the northern quarter has been open here in the city for nearly five years now and they announced this week that they'll be shutting their doors in just under a month.
00:26The final day of operation will be the 23rd of September and they're joining a long list of popular Manchester businesses that have found themselves forced to close over the last four or five years.
00:36The changeover that we're seeing across the city can be attributed to a difficult time for businesses across the country, sort of initiated by the coronavirus pandemic, made worse by the cost of living crisis.
00:45And with less and less people going out and spending money, the pressure is now on the government to try and find a way to find a solution to the deepening hospitality crisis.
00:53The team at Feel Good Club have put out a statement online stating that they've had to prioritise their employees and suppliers who would have been at risk if they continued to keep the northern quarter venue open.
01:02There are plans for the team to do pop-up shops and cafes in the future, but for now the city really should be mourning the loss of one of the safest places in the city for all.
01:10I did a video there a few months ago as part of our dog-friendly Manchester series, and as much as I loved my food and my experience, the joy that was obvious on Cooper the dog's face when she was offered a few little sausages is something that I'll never forget at all.
01:23The attitude towards dogs is bested only by the attitude towards people.
01:25As I say, this was a safe space for all. They didn't even require visitors to buy anything, so long as they were using the space in a respectful manner and felt comfortable there.
01:34Its presence in Manchester will be missed by all, but by me particularly.
