00:00And I want to say just one final thing, and I'm going to end this on a somber note.
00:10We've had some fun here, but I'm very mindful of the fact that we're just a couple of minutes
00:16away from the Minnesota border.
00:18And of course, we had this terrible, terrible school shooting yesterday in Minneapolis.
00:24And I imagine like a lot of you all, it hits pretty close to home, very personally, because
00:29though you may not know anybody who's affected by it, I think a lot of us know people who
00:34have been taking their kids the last couple of weeks to their first day of school.
00:38And in fact, my son, my little five-year-old, I love him so much.
00:41And if you're watching, buddy, daddy loves you.
00:45He started his first day kindergarten just two days ago.
00:49And again, we're very proud of him, and we love him very much.
00:52But I know that there are a lot of families who were in their first week of school just
00:56outside of Minneapolis, and that was pierced.
01:00That incredibly pure and wonderful moment was pierced by a very vicious and a very evil
01:06person.
01:07And so I just want to say a couple of things.
01:09The first thing that I want to say is, remember, we're an American family.
01:15And the people who lost children, they are your fellow Americans.
01:20And those children who lost their lives and lost their future, they are your fellow citizens.
01:26So think about them.
01:28And say a prayer for them.
01:30And remember that they are as much us as our neighbors right here in this wonderful community
01:36in Wisconsin.
01:37And the thing that they need, most of all, is they need their fellow Americans to reach
01:42out and care about them.
01:43And I know that every single one of us is going to do that.
01:45That's the first thing that I wanted to say.
01:47The second thing that I wanted to say is, when I first heard the news, I was worried
01:53that the death toll was going to be higher based on what the media reports were saying.
01:58Right now, there are still a couple of kids, some of whom in very critical condition, who
02:04may yet survive this.
02:08And I think they would appreciate your prayers and their families would appreciate your prayers
02:11as well.
02:11So if you are the praying type, I'd ask you to say a prayer tonight for those kids that
02:16are still recovering, that they may recover fully and go on to live a full life, a life
02:21that was deprived from a couple of their classmates.
02:25And, you know, the stories, I'd encourage you to read some of the stories about what happened
02:30yesterday, about the violence, about the fact that you had 10-year-old kids laying over
02:34their friends to look after them and to try to protect them.
02:38And while yesterday was an unspeakable tragedy, I'd ask you to remember that we also saw the
02:44very best of the United States of America.
02:47And to every person who protected a friend, to every first responder, to every paramedic
02:52who made it so the death toll wasn't higher, we love you, we're proud of you, and we'll
02:57never forget the great American spirit that you showed yesterday.
