00:01So, James, obviously the season is now here.
00:03Obviously, the summer window has been incredibly interesting for Spurs.
00:07They've been involved in a few sagas, the likes of Eberichi Eze,
00:10obviously choosing Arsenal in the end.
00:12But, I mean, in terms of Spurs, at the start of the window,
00:15when we caught up and we sort of named some of these players
00:18who you'd like to come in, obviously one of the names you mentioned
00:22was Jaupel Inja.
00:23He's made a fantastic impact coming back to the Premier League
00:26already with Spurs.
00:27They've also signed a few big names as well and been linked.
00:31I mean, it shows massive intent from Daniel Levy and the board.
00:35They seem to be real backing Thomas Frank and this new sort of Tottenham era.
00:39What have you made from the window and how exciting has it been?
00:43You know, actually being linked with these players is something.
00:47But then actually being able to get players over the line
00:50and have that pull to get them to come and join Spurs
00:52is a completely different kettle of fish.
00:55And it's something that maybe Spurs have struggled with in recent years.
01:00Yeah, I mean, it's certainly been a window of ups and downs, hasn't it?
01:03As is always the case as a Spurs fan, you know,
01:06starting off very positively getting Mohamed Koudas through the door.
01:09He started really, really well.
01:10Going to be a fantastic addition to the squad.
01:13You know, a real sort of Premier League ready player.
01:15He's already shown in the first couple of games two assists against Burnley
01:18and a fantastic performance against Manchester City.
01:21His work rate was absolutely outstanding.
01:24So, you know, big tick in the box for Koudas.
01:26I think the best is still to come as well, which makes things even more exciting.
01:30We spoke about Joe Pelinha, you know, that sort of number six protector enforcer
01:35that we needed.
01:36Job done there.
01:37A lot of Spurs fans were sceptical about Pelinha,
01:39thinking he was maybe sort of second choice, you know,
01:41the loan signing.
01:42Is he over the hill, et cetera?
01:44He's come in and, you know, he's not even fully fit yet.
01:47And the performance against Manchester City was outstanding.
01:49Man of the match, obviously, got a goal.
01:51He was celebrating the tackles, but really sets the tone
01:54in terms of that protection in front of the back four
01:57with Rodrigo Bentonka.
01:59So, signs definitely promising there.
02:00So, two big ticks in the box in terms of, you know,
02:03Premier League proven, ready players to come in now
02:05and improve the squad.
02:07We then have this lull, this disappointment,
02:10this public embarrassment, whatever you want to call it,
02:11around, you know, Morgan Gibbs-White.
02:14I think I'd give, probably, Spurs a pass on that.
02:16It just feels like a set of, you know, extenuating circumstances
02:19that no one's ever seen before.
02:20It was pretty extraordinary, wasn't it?
02:22He ends up signing a new deal.
02:24And then we move on to, obviously, Aberecciese.
02:28I think all Spurs fans were fearing Arsenal to come in
02:31and hijack that one, sadly.
02:33And, obviously, that proved the case.
02:35I think, you know, it shows Spurs are shopping,
02:38you know, in the league above,
02:39which is a really good signal of intent and ambition
02:41from the board, which is exactly what we want to see
02:43after winning the Europa League.
02:45Albeit, you know, it probably shows the sort of failings
02:48that Spurs still drag their feet, they still haggle.
02:51We had enough time to get that Eze deal done
02:53before Arsenal came in.
02:55Albeit, depending on sort of the reports that you believe,
02:58it sounds like Arsenal had obviously done a lot of the groundwork
03:00pre-August, and Eze was always holding out for Arsenal.
03:04And, you know, as Thomas Frank says,
03:05if players don't want to play for Spurs,
03:07then we certainly don't want them at the club.
03:09It's not a good look, is it?
03:10So, a couple of embarrassments in terms of the Eze and the Gibbs-White.
03:15And then it looks like, you know, fingers crossed,
03:19we're going to be absolutely thrilled with the signing of Yavi Simmonds.
03:22I think we're just crossing the T's, dotting the I's on that one.
03:26Hopefully, he will be a Spurs player before the Bournemouth game on Saturday.
03:30So, if we get that deal over the line,
03:33I mean, what a fantastic signing it would be.
03:35He was actually a priority signing for Spurs at the start of the window.
03:39We never made a move for various reasons.
03:41I think a lot of people feared Chelsea would come in.
03:43But if we get that done, I mean, he fits the Tottenham profile perfectly, doesn't he?
03:47He's 22 years old, but he's a quality, quality addition.
03:50He's ready now, you know, can play off the wing, but ideally as a number 10.
03:54And, you know, doing a little bit of research ahead of this on his numbers.
03:58And 25 games for Leipzig last year, 17 goal involvements, I think it was.
04:0532 appearances the previous season prior to that, and 21 involvements as well.
04:10So, you know, he's a real lock picker, got an eye for goal,
04:13real low centre of gravity.
04:14We'll enhance this Tottenham team no end.
04:16And, you know, fingers crossed, we're not done either.
04:18I think we're still in the market for a centre-back, which would be my priority now,
04:22bearing in mind the fitness issues around Romero and Van der Venne,
04:26and possibly a left winger.
04:28I think we're still looking at Savino.
04:30If we've got that deal over the line, that would be absolutely fantastic.
04:33I think it looks like Adama Luckman might be the sort of second choice on that list.
04:38But, you know, he's been pulling up trees, you know,
04:40performing very, very strongly in Atalanta.
04:42So, again, could be a very, very good signing.
04:45So, potentially, you know, it could be a really, really strong window.
04:49I mean, if we got the players in we've just been speaking about there,
04:51we'd be looking at an 8-9 out of 10, which would be fantastic.
04:55Tottenham's best year, you know, for a long, long time,
04:57and a real, real signal of intent.
04:59And, you know, nice to see the board investing in the team at last
05:02with real Premier League-proven quality players.
