00:00I personally think that Patrick Hamley is going to end up on this team.
00:03He's 5-2-1 in the Ryder Cup.
00:06He's got a partner in Xander Schauffele.
00:09His iron game is too big of a strength.
00:12He's a plus distance guy.
00:14He's been so clutch over the course of his career in the Ryder Cup,
00:17President's Cup, made big putts.
00:19I just don't see how he doesn't make this team.
00:22The stats are really solid for the most part.
00:24He just hasn't kind of broken through.
00:27Sure has not been a banner season for him.
00:30It hasn't been a bad season by any means.
00:31I have more confidence.
00:34I have Patrick Cantlay above Colin Morikawa for me.
00:37If it came down to picking between those two right now,
00:40I'm taking Patrick over Morikawa because of his pairing.
00:44He pairs up with Xander Schauffele.
00:49He's got a plus record in the Ryder Cup.
00:52Morikawa, on the other hand, sure, he was dominant back at Whistling Straits.
00:57He went 3-0-1 with Dustin Johnson as his partner.
01:00But Dustin Johnson is not going to be on this team.
01:02And the form that Morikawa has been in has been a little bit kind of all over the place.
01:07Like, you know, you're changing caddies, changing putters,
01:11you know, trying all these different things where you're taking your glove off or your long irons.
01:15There just seems to be a lot of change with Morikawa right now
01:18to where if I had to, you know, put guys ranked higher or lower on the list,
01:23I would probably put, you know, Cantlay just above
01:28because Morikawa didn't inspire too much confidence the last time he wasn't in form in Rome.
01:33He was, you know, very off.
01:35Wasn't really a key asset like you would think Morikawa should be for the United States team
01:41with how good he can be, the potential that he could play to with his precision iron play.
01:46You would think that he would be a perfect four-since player.
01:49Yeah, I mean, and the playoffs are going to be very telling.
01:52I mean, obviously, he's played great at Eastlake, you know, in recent years.
01:56And so if you have a nice stretch here, it shouldn't be hard for Keegan to make a pick
02:01and have anyone really protest that too vehemently.
02:04And it would be interesting.
02:05Yeah, like you're talking about with those, the partnering with the best players on the team,
02:10you kind of feel like Henley is bumping Burns right now.
02:13And if you take Cantlay to partner with Xander, that leaves you one spot that does feel like it goes to a rookie.
02:19And it feels like the guys that are trending the strongest right now would be Chris Goddorup and Cam Young.
02:25Yeah, those would be the two, 100%.
02:27And so, and it's tough because we're having Chris Goddorup join the show later this week,
02:32had a great conversation with him.
02:33We love his game.
02:34And Cam, you know, just went out and won a tour event.
02:37Do you have, where do you think Keegan lands on that right now?
02:40Or is it really the next three weeks you're going to, you know, play a huge role in defining that pick?
02:45I think that Goddorup, Young, and Burns, right, to me, I think those three guys,
02:50I'm going to be looking at them in a bucket to see kind of who plays really well over the next three weeks.
02:56I don't think either one of those three guys can play poorly.
02:59I think they all need to be, you know, consistently inside the top, you know, 15, top 20,
03:04every single one of these three weeks.
03:06You can't have a poor week, got to make it to Eastlake because they all bring plus assets.
03:11You can, you can find, you can find issues in all of their games.
03:16You really can.
03:18Burns has a little bit more experience on these teams.
03:22He's been on more teams.
03:23Cam Young has only been on one team on just the President's Cup and didn't play a ton of matches that week,
03:28or at least didn't feel that way.
03:30It wasn't a big part of the storyline.
03:31Chris Goddorup's never been on a team.
03:33So there's, there's ways to pick apart all of these guys.
03:37And then, and then outside of that, like, I, I think some wild cards that,
03:40that could play their way into the conversation.
03:43I still feel like the, the stats will say that Jordan Spieth still has a chance to make this team,
03:51but he hasn't done what Chris Goddorup, Cam Young, Andrew Novak, maybe Ben Griffin, Sam Burr.
03:59I would say that he just hasn't had that, that boom moment to where it just feels like he's kind of made his stand to where he feels like he should be a part of the, of this team.
04:11But right now he just hasn't had that boom moment, if you will.
