00:00Now, Bristol City have been away on a warm-weather training camp in Portugal in the last few days or so,
00:07and Gerhard Struber has been speaking about the experiences that they've had so far under his regime.
00:13Obviously, brand new to the club, Gerhard Struber, following Liam Manning heading off to Norwich City,
00:18a championship rival, which of course wasn't good for Bristol City.
00:21It certainly was a bit of a kick to them.
00:23Liam Manning going to a club like Norwich, who also will be vying for the top spots in the championship next season.
00:28But they've brought in Gerhard Struber, and certainly he's got straight down to work.
00:32In fact, John Lansdowne, the chairman, said when he arrived that he was the perfect fit for the club.
00:37And now he's got his feet under the table a little bit with the pre-season getting underway for the Robins,
00:42and he's been speaking about that pre-season with, of course, the club going off to the warm-weather training camp in Portugal.
00:48He's been very pleased with the group as a whole and the attitude that they've shown to pre-season training so far.
00:54And he also said, of course, in the warm-weather training camp they've been working very hard.
00:58They're all a little bit exhausted, but he says they're a great group to work with.
01:02Now, that can only be a positive for Bristol City supporters, hearing those types of words.
01:07Because, of course, they were so encouraged by the team that they had by the end of last season,
01:11who were really able to win a lot of games in the championship and score some really good goals
01:16and were playing some really attractive football under Liam Manning.
01:18And yet, for them, that to be gone and for Liam Manning to depart,
01:22it was sort of a, well, where do we go from here for Bristol City?
01:27But certainly, hearing those words of a manager who's actually come from the Bundesliga in FC Köln
01:32to a championship club in Bristol City certainly represents the fact that Bristol City are a club moving in the right direction.
01:39There was certainly doubt over that because, of course, you've lost your head coach to a rival club in the same league.
01:45But, in fact, hearing those words, I think, will be very inspiring to all involved or all associated with the club going forward.
01:53Of course, the key is now Bristol City coming back to England and getting on with pre-season as well.
01:59They'll obviously have some games to play before the championship gets underway.
02:02But I think it's a positive for Bristol City that Gerhard Schubert was able to say these things
02:07and be so complimentary about his players.

02:23We made, I would say, very good steps in our principles, how we want to play together.

02:43And I think, yeah, we used the time in a very good direction.
02:46What did you want to achieve from this week?
02:50Of course, that we make steps in our style of play, in our identity.
02:53And I think we did good steps and we can complete tomorrow with a game.

03:09So my feeling is the boys are very learnable, very, very inspired about the new things.

03:31So this makes my work so much easier that I have a group around me.
03:38They have a super attention about all the new things.
03:42And, yeah, I think we made good steps.

03:46But I'm happy right now what will learn together.
03:52So you seem really pleased with how the players have responded to you
03:54and your thoughts on what you want to implement going forward.

04:14And also I can see in the training the execution was on a very good level.
