00:00The coaching cycle so far has been quite quiet.
00:04We've only seen Mike Vrabel get a job.
00:07We still have six remaining.
00:09And I'll just start with Mike Vrabel quickly
00:12as we've had a little bit more time to digest that news,
00:16Leecey, do you find yourself thinking kind of one way
00:19or another about that move by New England?
00:21No, I mean, it makes sense in the sense
00:23of you wanted a patriot, you know, the patriot way.
00:27You wanted to maintain, you know,
00:28the level of integrity and the discipline
00:32that the Patriots had in the middle part,
00:34early part with Bill Belichick,
00:36obviously they tailed off in the last couple of seasons.
00:39And you thought you had that in Gerard Mayo,
00:42but from the coaching perspective and resume,
00:44Mike Vrabel has more experience and has done more.
00:47And again, does that mean Gerard Mayo
00:49couldn't live up to those expectations eventually?
00:52No, it's just that I think Kraft and the organization said,
00:56we have an opportunity to get our guy.
00:58We have an opportunity to get our guy now
01:00and get back quickly to at least becoming
01:03a winning football organization.
01:05And that's what they did.
01:06Do I agree with it?
01:07No, the way it played out, it's unfortunate.
01:10I thought Gerard Mayo was given only one year.
01:12He should have been given at least two or three
01:14with that roster, but that's what we see right now.
01:17And I think Vrabel will get this team to a certain level.
01:20I'm not so sure they get back to the playoffs
01:22and be a contender like the Chiefs.
01:24Very safe pick.
01:25And I agree with this pick.
01:26You just had an absolute abject disaster at head coach.
01:30You can't afford to take a shot on another up-and-coming
01:32coordinator to see how it's going to turn out.
01:34You had to go for the sure thing.
01:36One thing you know about Vrabel, he
01:37understands the Patriot way.
01:38He won in Tennessee at a high level
01:40that you need Super Bowl champion?
01:41No.
01:42But he's going to come in and steady those waters here.
01:44And as we said, they have really good draft capital
01:46and a ton of money to spend.
01:48This should work out.
01:49They could not afford to take another risk on a head coaching
01:52hire.
01:52Yeah, I understand that they couldn't take a risk.
01:56But I don't think that Ben Johnson would have been a risk.
02:00I don't think that Joe Brady would have been a risk.
02:02I think it would have been a, let's
02:04try something different here.
02:05And that's my issue, hesitation, if anything, with the hire.
02:10Honestly, Vrabel could end up being good.
02:12And I just, it's just doing the same thing now for 25 years.
02:18It's a lot.
02:19And you could say, well, why wouldn't we want a carbon cotton?
02:22It was a mess for a decade.
02:25However long it's been since Tom left,
02:27it was a little bit of a mess towards the back end there.
02:29Tom left for a reason.
02:31And that just kind of bombed to me.
