00:00Reaching the T20 World Cup semi-final might be an achievement in itself but
00:04West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews is hungry for more and hopes that the ladies
00:07in maroon can repeat the feat of 2016 but the first step is to get the better
00:12of New Zealand before thinking about the final. Yeah I think we're really proud of
00:16what we've been able to achieve so far like you said and like I've been saying
00:20as well no one kind of had us to get to this stage so I think we're all pretty
00:24happy that we've made it here but like I keep saying the jobs just not finished
00:28yet we've definitely got our eyes locked on the game tomorrow ready for New
00:33Zealand and hopefully ready to play a really big game because we do want to
00:37win and we don't want to just come to this World Cup to say hey we've made the
00:40semi-finals and we're happy with that we want to take it even further. The game
00:44between the West Indies and New Zealand takes place in Sharjah Matthew says it's
00:49difficult to predict the nature of the wicket at that venue. I think we have
00:52seen quite contrasting wickets in Sharjah watching the games we have seen
00:56some wickets where the balls have turned massively and kept really low and then I
01:00think when we played there it actually kind of slid on a bit it was a pretty
01:03good wicket to bat on so I think it probably will come down to tomorrow what
01:08the wicket looks like when we do get there so hopefully there is a good one
01:11lined up for us like like there was last time. Matthews is pleased that players
01:15other than herself Stefanie Taylor and Deandra Doughton have been able to
01:19perform in this tournament she says it has to do with putting in a lot of blood
01:23sweat and tears. The girls underneath us probably didn't have much opportunity to
01:27be any better than they were but they've sacrificed a lot and they've been
01:31training really hard and you see them and the results and the performances
01:35coming out now and that has so much to do with all the hard work they've put in
01:40and seeing players like Kiana Joseph even Aaliyah Alleyne the way she's been
01:45bowling Karishma Ramarak she's someone else who kind of came into the spotlight
01:50last year in the World Cup and she's been able to play some massive roles
01:54again for us this year so I think that makes us even more dangerous.
01:58Matthews cannot say if Stefanie Taylor will play the semi-final match following injury
02:01which saw her missing the last group game against England.
