Farmers oppose a controversial renewable energy project over environmental and safety concerns in eastern Victoria.

00:12The main concerns for the project are fire and potential contamination of soil

00:35and waterways within the catchment area that go out to the Gippsland Lakes.

00:38If there is a toxic gas or release or a fire it will basically make us have to evacuate our house.

01:02As farmers we're concerned about our security for future food and fibre production. I'm not

01:07opposed to renewable energy. I think that it's finding the right siting for these things

01:11where they're not affecting community and farmland.
