00:00 Police erected screens around the Togo Place unit, leaving neighbours wondering what went
00:07 wrong.
00:08 We have a lot of elderly in this area. It's usually quite quiet apart from all of the
00:13 dogs on the strip, but usually nothing happens around here.
00:16 It was reports of a disturbance that prompted police to conduct a welfare check just after
00:21 7am.
00:22 Unfortunately soon after arrival, police located a 78-year-old female deceased at the location.
00:30 Detectives say they arrested her husband, 86-year-old Manfred Yule, at a property in
00:34 Fatton a short time afterwards.
00:36 He's currently in Canberra Hospital undergoing medical assessment for a possible cardiac
00:41 episode.
00:42 Police are yet to lay charges, but they don't suspect anyone else was involved.
00:47 All I'd say is for people is to look out for your friends and family. If you think there
00:52 are issues with mental or physical health, particularly as people get into their elder
00:57 years, that they reach out and talk to somebody, get the assistance they need.
01:01 A post-mortem is scheduled for next week to determine cause of death. Meanwhile, police
01:06 are urging anyone with information to come forward.
