00:00Yesterday around 5.45pm, police received a triple o call in relation to some gunshots being discharged in Rossmoor Avenue
00:07at Punchpot. Emergency services responded to that scene. We found an individual 32 year old man with gunshot wounds. Unfortunately
00:17he succumbed to his injuries and he was an air statiste at the scene.
00:21At this stage it's believed that this gunman approached the victim, a lone gunman, discharged a number of shots and
00:30then fled in a stolen Lexus from the scene, bar scene on Canterbury Road. That Lexus was later recovered in
00:37Bass Hill by the Raptor Squad that night. That vehicle is now currently being intrinsically examined and we have a
00:43number of minds of inquiry as a result of the seizure of that car.
00:46We're out in force today with the canvassing in regards to that. It's something that we've become very successful in
00:52in regards to the tracking of the vehicles across Sydney. I hope to think that we will be successful with
00:59this murder as we have been with other murders.
01:01It was a targeted attack. We do not believe that other persons were at risk. However, obviously in a public
01:07place like this, those actions cannot be tolerated as it potentially endanger innocent members of the community.
