00:23Chile's National Service for Disaster Prevention and Response said heavy rain caused the flooding,
00:30with normally dry creeks and mountain ravines filling rapidly during downpours.
00:36Authorities declared a yellow alert for the region, allowing additional resources to be deployed as needed
00:42to prevent the situation from escalating and reduce risks to people, property, and the environment.
00:48The alert will remain in effect until weather conditions no longer warrant it.
