00:39that but here they are back again well the reason i hate them is because i can't figure out how

01:02believe they gave him a job on tv he's not liked by people how long is it going to take

01:15he's not somebody i want to listen to i didn't enjoy watching him play football the whole siara of it

01:43dangerous and they're annoying their personalities were hard or i guess i could say easy to sort of
01:51put in the position of a rivalry now this group here they come and what's ticking me off about
01:58this group essentially is that they're really really freaking good and i cannot figure out
02:05how the the 49ers have not been able to figure out how to consistently move the ball on them
02:11but their head coach mike mcdonald well really good coach seems like a good dude i watched some
02:18hard knocks i'm like you know what i kind of dig the way this guy goes about his business

04:21somebody wrote on social this week they're like this kike hernandez bit that they do every year
04:27is really annoying where you know you don't hear from him for five months ever and then he shows up
04:33in the world series and he's like pow homer bing bong running around doing the hands helmet flying off
04:41you're like dog go away so even if you didn't hate the dodgers on principle you could hate them because
04:47they have some hateable pieces easy the sea uh the seahawks one is interesting because like the
04:53players that you want to hate are either you know pretty nice and swell guys or they're just really
04:59good at what they do i mean i'm glad you brought up the dodgers and i'm like there's actually and
05:03it's funny because i know so many dodger fans with all the la and the family and everything and
05:08um they think that their team is incredibly likable which is hilarious but i'll meet them halfway i'll go
05:15you guys gotta understand there's pieces and levels to this i actually find mookie betts if
05:20mookie betts wasn't in a dodger fan or in a dodger uniform i'd love him mookie betts like he does

06:24sport to shut down for maybe an entire year i mean look they're incredibly easy to hate i am bothered
06:32by the seahawks right now because i can't find where i'm bothered and and i hate that i i'm disliking
06:42them because they're good they're a real big challenge well and it's on principle too because
06:49they're the rival and they just won the super bowl and so if you go backward on teams in your
06:56division who've won the super bowl seattle has won two the rams have won one and i'm going back until
07:02the last time the niners actually won one and even at that arizona's been to one and the niners have
07:07been to three and not won them so i do think that that stings the fact that seattle sure got

07:12one and i think it is a little bit annoying that it happened here i think that if for example

07:18candlestick were still around and candlestick were a super bowl venue which i know is kind of laughable
07:23in many different ways but that would hurt to me more because levi's stadium it's where the niners play
07:30but it doesn't really feel like home i mean you said am i wrong you're not at all not that

07:36soulless and it is you know bang bang niner gang and it's where we all congregate for niner games but
07:41it doesn't have that same soul i have a hard time with this if someone texted in and said the

07:46that it's levi's i don't care if this had happened at candlestick i would have been a problem now super
07:50bowl would never that's what i'm saying it would never no but they never even would have taken it there
07:54of course yeah right so um i'm with you i always have a hard time with this discussion
08:00because i love this whole area and and i want to make sure that our show and just my own

08:09fandom is represented by every single corner of the bay area go sharks so like i i don't always love
08:17the conversation of making san francisco and santa clara sound like they're at odds with one another
08:23so i think there are levels to this for some it is that you're the san francisco 49ers and santa
08:30clara and san francisco are not close like if we lived in another state we would consider that
08:35like a vacation you know what i mean like if we lived in massachusetts that would be halfway across
08:41the damn state to get from san francisco to santa clara it could be multiple states away it could be
08:46so um i get that there's that aspect for some for others and i think this is what you just
08:52touched on levi's stadium has its detractors it's not overall a wonderful perfect environment
09:04for games whether it's the substation whether it's the sun side whatever it may be whether it's the
09:10you know the traffic jam that happens on the way to get in and you got to be there four
09:15hours but
09:15whatever it is that's bothering you but all of these things over a decade in are still a part of
09:21the
09:21discussion and i think they're relevant when we bring this up yeah like i don't i don't think that
09:27that stadium has a full-blown connection to the fan base where they go that's our damn house it's
09:35more like that's our team and that's where they play and i think that it is that very thing when
09:40you go out there on a sunday and you get there early and you get in the red lot of
09:44the blue lot
09:44and you're tailgating and it's like okay it's a niner game and this is what we're doing
09:48and this is where we are doing it but you don't have that deep rich history that you had at
09:53candlestick which there was something ominous and personal about going to candlestick for giants
09:59and or for the niners because it was not always easy to get to and the weather could turn on

10:05it was us and we were there and it was our home field advantage and levi's it doesn't really have
10:11that soul and maybe someday it will but they don't have that yet years ago when i worked with usc
10:16they used to talk about their rivals in two very different ways there was ucla and then there
10:22was notre dame ucla was a hatred that was a i don't respect you i want to i want you
10:30to end up
10:31naked in the town square when we're done playing with you and then there was notre dame where they
10:36were like that's a rival and we really want to win that game but there's a lot more respect to

10:43that was it's different animal and it was over here because it was out of conference
10:50and um it was kind of the only time that year that you would even think about notre dame
10:57ucla and the pac 10 or pac 12 schools you're kind of thinking about that constantly and they've all got
11:03their own thing there's a little bit of that here within the division to me with the rams and the
11:08seahawks the seahawks to me is a more respected more respectful rivalry the rams are the ones where
11:16everybody wants to kind of point and laugh when you win that's family it's gone back for more and
11:22more years i don't think the niner fan base respects the rams fan base they think it doesn't exist
11:27the seahawks fan base might annoy you but it's they annoy you because they're loud they have a name for
11:35themselves they hold the number up well they stole the name okay and honestly i see this completely
11:41the other way where really yeah for me seattle gets the blood boiling and the rams are whatever
11:47like notre dame the usc notre dame it's just a game and stanford would play notre dame it's like okay
11:52you're playing notre dame it's a tradition you play the rams because you've always played the rams
11:57i don't feel the blood boil unless you get into a big spot like last game of the year and
12:03you need
12:03drake greenlaw to make a tackle or it's a playoff game for me seattle is much more to me anyway

12:09the usc ucla that's interesting i just to me i look at it as when you and i were born
12:13the niners were
12:14already playing the rams twice a year period well the seahawks weren't around exactly when i was born
12:20and then and then then they were around but they were in the afc correct so and the falcons were

12:25the nfc west exactly as were the new orleans saints makes sense yeah exactly west anyway so they were
12:31west of something right maybe florida was ground zero they're like that's west i don't know i don't
12:36know how that got born but that's what happened but yeah i i just i see that very very differently
12:41because to me the rams have been the rams and niners have been around you know just swapping
12:48paint in helmets for twice a year every year for as long as i can remember breathing and so there's
12:55there's just something and i know they've been through their whole thing we're going to a different
12:58city now we'll come back this that and the other but the rams the rams and the niners that's been

13:03thing since i watched football the seahawks is this it's more of a new deal that showed up with
13:08russell wilson and and pete carroll and so they're annoying again but they're not as annoying as they
13:15were the first time around they're just good which is annoying it's annoying that the 49ers haven't
13:20cracked the code yet and i think it's annoying that it seems like many people think that they have
13:25a mike mcdonald problem so go out sunday and put up 30 points and solve that thing
