00:00Here in Slidell, Louisiana, multiple sandbagging areas have been posted up across the city and
00:06across parts of New Orleans, eastward through Biloxi, Mississippi, and as far east as Pensacola,
00:12Florida, as residents around here aren't taking any chances with Tropical System East Iaas out
00:19in the Gulf. How much will it strengthen? How much will it weaken upon approach? Well, that remains to
00:24be seen, but a lot of the residents here who are no stranger to Tropical Systems are not taking
00:29any chances. They are filling those sandbags because this area is one of the most storm surge
00:35prone areas in the entire world, and that is by far going to be the most dangerous threat with this
00:40Tropical System, and areas especially around New Orleans are susceptible to that flash flood threat
00:47even if they aren't necessarily in the direct path of this future hurricane. Now, some of the folks
00:52that I've been talking to almost feel like it's kind of a kick in the stomach simply for the fact
00:57that we have made it this far in the Atlantic hurricane season without a single hurricane,
01:02and here we are in October staring down the barrel of East Iaas. We're going to be covering
01:08it all week here at AccuWeather. I'm Aaron Rigsby.
