00:00Well, the largest conference in the Midwest for creators.
00:02We've got none other than Robert Collins in the building.
00:06So, so dope to be back with you guys.
00:08I'm glad you came back because when we were talking about CreatorCon
00:12and the idea and everything, like it just seemed so far away.
00:17Yeah, yeah.
00:18Probably not to you.
00:18You probably been like neck deep in it from the beginning.
00:21CreatorCon is a year-long build, right?
00:25So it's, for me, it's right around the corner the entire year.
00:29You know, so there's so many moving parts.
00:32There's so many different aspects that have to be figured out.
00:36And we want to bring the best possible version of CreatorCon every single year.
00:42So we definitely give 120% to making sure that happens.
00:46I love it.
00:46And clearly this is about to be the biggest, the best of them all so far.
00:50In every way imaginable.
00:52So just break it down for us in case people didn't listen to us previously.
00:55What is CreatorCon and why do people need to know about what's happening November 13th?
01:00Yeah, I think I need to give some context.
01:02So CreatorCon started off as a way for me to just really attract creators
01:07because social media and the world was just changing.
01:10The attention for people was moving from just social media activity
01:16to individuals who had influence on the internet.
01:19And so we figured we would build a conference that would bring those individuals to us
01:25and it was supposed to be a one-off.
01:28Next thing you know, we're five years in and it has expanded into this conference
01:34that brings creators from every industry that you can possibly think of into one space
01:41to provide training, education, networking.
01:46And then on the flip side, it gives businesses, organizations,
01:51and people who are looking for ways to grow their brands and businesses
01:55an opportunity to come and connect with these people to create magic, essentially.
02:01So yeah, it's growing and it's getting bigger.
02:05Talk about, so this year five, right?
02:07Yes.
02:07And like you said, when you started, it was just going to be this thing that you did.
02:12How much has it changed from year one to year five?
02:15And what's the one thing that you're like,
02:18man, I've really like had to latch onto this to make it grow the way it's growing?
02:23Yeah.
02:24With my background being in social media management,
02:28it was more like how can I help business owners and founders understand
02:34the importance of finding people who had communities that were established
02:38and they were needles in haystacks.
02:40And this was just 2022.
02:42Even the word creator, like people didn't understand it, right?
02:46That's true.
02:47So just four years later, now creators actually drive the conference.
02:52So last year we bring out over 400 creators.
02:55There was almost a thousand people in attendance.
02:58400 of them were creators who are embarking on using their platforms
03:03to monetize and help different industries grow.
03:07And so I think the biggest thing that's changed is just what a creator is
03:12and how the creator can help you create exposure that you didn't have before.
03:16A restaurant could have no business, no traffic,
03:20and then all of a sudden they hire a creator to do some content.
03:23Next thing you know, you're selling out and you have no problem.
03:27So it wasn't the food.
03:28It wasn't, you know, customer service.
03:30It was lack of exposure.
03:32And now this creator just changed everything for you.
03:35And I like that you point out the fact that this isn't just for people
03:38who are creating content.
03:40Like this is also a conference that maybe a business owner should go to.
03:44Could you explain, again, why this isn't just for people
03:47who you see on TikTok or Instagram or Facebook?
03:50Absolutely.
03:50This is now being titled a marketing and business conference
03:54because creators need framework around how do I create stability
04:02and longevity with this type of activity?
04:05You know, so there will be several workshops around bringing structure
04:10and framework to how you operate as a business owner
04:13through your skill sets and your talents.
04:17And then from a business standpoint, it's additional resources
04:23to help you incorporate marketing, social media, AI,
04:28like all these different tools into your day-to-day activity.
04:32Do you have any one creator in specific that you've kind of watched
04:37enter as like a baby bird trying to fly out the nest
04:40and now they're just above everybody doing their thing?
04:44Is there anybody that comes to mind?
04:45You know what?
04:45There's so many.
04:48I think what's cooler is watching a person that, not just creators,
04:55like watching like a social media marketing company
04:58who was like a one-person show and then looking at them two,
05:03three years later and now they have an entire team
05:06and they have like all these different resources.
05:08And me knowing that, I remember you came to CreatorCon
05:12and you collected talent to fill out your team.
05:16To me, like that's even cooler because you wasn't sure
05:20what you were doing and then now we've helped you
05:22give you some direction and resources that you could tap into.
05:26For sure.
05:27Now we've been talking about how amazing CreatorCon is,
05:30but we didn't tell people how they can buy tickets
05:32because we kind of need to fill it out.
05:34We need it sold out.
05:35Yeah, absolutely.
05:36So you can buy tickets at creatorcondetray.com
05:40through Eventbrite.
05:42And you could also visit us across all the platforms,
05:45CreatorCon Detroit,
05:46to find out where you can purchase tickets as well.
05:49If there's anyone who's listening that's like,
05:52that sounds like me, but I don't know.
05:54It's a conference.
05:55Like I'm scared to go by myself.
05:57Like what is the final thing that you want people to know
06:00so that they can purchase their early bird tickets right now?
06:03Absolutely.
06:04I don't think there needs to be any expectation set for yourself.
06:08Come, just be curious.
06:10There's workshops, there's entertainment, there's fashion shows,
06:14there's a Creator Kids showcase.
06:16There's so many different levels to CreatorCon.
06:20So if you're not looking to do anything,
06:22but you just want a good weekend experience,
06:25you should definitely think about stopping by CreatorCon.
06:27Would you agree getting started is probably the hardest part
06:31when it comes to content?
06:32I mean, even in our show,
06:34like that's one of the hardest parts is where are we starting?
06:37How are we getting this going?
06:37I feel like this is built for someone struggling with that.
06:41One conversation with one individual
06:43could literally reprogram your brain into what you need to do
06:47or how easy it is to just start.
06:49So I think just showing up at the event is the starting point
06:53and then let everything else happen from there.
06:55I like that.
06:56One more time.
06:56One more time.
06:57Where are we getting tickets at?
06:58Where are we getting socials at?

07:14All right.
07:15Period.
07:15It's now the morning rollout with Leisha B, Clay and Robert.
07:19No, he gets billing above me.
07:21It's Leisha B, Robert.
07:22And then Clay shows up when he wants to sometimes.
07:25I love it.
07:26I love it.
07:27Robert, thanks again, man.
07:28Absolutely.
