00:00And I can say the same thing about Penn State taking on Northwestern here tonight, Craig.
00:05Matt Campbell coming into this one off a very disappointing loss to Wisconsin in which they
00:11were up 17-7 in that game and got absolutely demolished and gave it right up by Wisconsin.
00:19Now they got to go on the road to take on a Northwestern team that is rejuvenated.
00:25Have you seen this new stadium, Craig, that they just spent a trillion dollars on?
00:30It is impressive, to say the least, but so is this football team.
00:35So it feels like at 45 and a half, Craig, this one is close, too.
00:41I mean, a lot of people are just going to say, oh, it's Penn State.
00:43What are you kidding?
00:44I got to back Penn.
00:45I don't know that I'm just backing Penn State blindly in this game here on the road.
00:51Yeah, Northwestern seems to have a little bit of a better path than Penn State does the
00:56rest of the season as far as looking at their upcoming schedule.
01:00So, you know, Northwestern, if they can win this game today, they face Michigan State next,
01:05a game they should win or can win.
01:07Then they play Rutgers, and then they square off against Oregon.
01:11So that's the big game for them on Halloween night on October 31st.
01:16Yeah, it's like these two teams sort of control their own destiny.
01:19It feels like all four of the teams that play tonight, the winners in both of those games,
01:25have a real shot at playing in a big bowl game, or at least having their name in the
01:30conversation, maybe for a playoff position.
01:32Unlikely, of course, but the team that loses is probably an elimination, and the team that
01:38wins probably moves on.
01:39I mean, to think Virginia Tech could be 5-0, Northwestern could be 4-1, Northwestern beats
01:44Michigan State, beat Ball State.
01:45They're 6-1 all of a sudden.
01:47And they're going to be ranked going into that game against Oregon.
01:49So I'll have my eye on this one a little bit, but I am more interested, of course, in the
01:55other game tonight.
01:57I tend to think we're going to get some points in this game, Craig, to tell you the truth
02:01here.
02:01I mean, Rocco Beck is the quarterback for Penn State.
02:04It feels like he was the quarterback for nine years at Iowa State.
02:08When Matt Campbell left Iowa State, he had a very veteran-laden team, a lot of upper class.
02:14He took them all to Penn State.
02:16So this is a very experienced Penn State team here who's going to be on the road.
02:21It doesn't feel like more than a field goal game, but boy, does it feel like both these
02:26teams have shown.
02:28And don't forget, you know who the offensive coordinator is for Northwestern?
02:31Chip Kelly.
02:33And he's got them humming right now.
02:36Another team.
02:36Chip Kelly has got Childs absolutely throwing the ball.
02:41They are very good offensively right now.
02:44And say what you want about Chip Kelly as an NFL head coach.
02:47And trust me, there's a lot of people in Philadelphia that have something to say about it.
02:50But as a college coach, I mean, the guy was always succeeded here.
02:57And he's got them succeeding again.
02:59Was he horrible at UCLA?
03:01I forget, as the head coach there.
03:03I don't remember.
03:04Was he good or no?
03:05No, it wasn't great.
03:06But they had a lot of guys on both sides of the ball that ended up in the NFL.
03:11That is for sure.
03:12Yeah, that's true.
03:13But he's always been an off.
03:14He's not the head coach.
03:15He's the OC.
03:17And Northwestern is putting up more points than anybody thought they would ever put up in
03:22this season.
03:23So I'm impressed.
03:25I mean, 29 points, we've seen them be able to move the ball up and down the field.
03:31This is not your typical Penn State defense.
03:34So maybe points could very well be coming in this one here tonight.
03:3845 and a half.
03:39Seems like a little bit of a low total on a Friday night game at Northwestern.
03:44Cool.
03:44Good.
