00:00asked over and over again, did Donald Trump win the 2020 election, refuses to say the truth.
00:06This is an eight-year attempt to lie to the American people, and this is their closing argument, everybody.
00:13Right before an election, this is what they want to spend their time on, perpetrating a lie.
00:20This committee's Republicans are more concerned with Trump than the truth.
00:25I'm assuming it's my turn. The chairman has not deferred to me.
00:29My colleague goes almost two minutes over time quoting Javert and Les Mis.
00:33Let me get back to what the reality of the American people and what they're witnessing right now.
00:38This is gaslighting the American people. It has been going on for eight years.
00:44Thirty days before an election, when people are demanding their gas prices go down,
00:50we've got a whole lot of hot wind energy and gaslighting continuing to perpetuate
00:57the big lie in America that Donald Trump was somehow cheated out of the 2020 election.
01:04We are using precious time of one of the most vaunted committees in American history,
01:10the Judiciary Committee, to perpetrate one of the biggest gaslighting attempts we have ever seen
01:16in our 250 years as a country, that somehow Donald Trump won the 2020 election.
01:23And when he didn't satisfy, wasn't satisfied with his loss, he then tried to cheat.
01:29We all know it. This is not shocking evidence.
01:32He called Republicans in Georgia and said, find me over 11,000 votes.
01:37He called members of Congress openly and asked them to find some way to have a peaceful transfer of power.
01:43And then Donald Trump incited people to attack this Capitol.
01:48In his impeachment trial, seven Republicans said he did.
01:54And so here we are when the American people are suffering.
01:57High gas prices, high grocery prices, high fuel prices, and we're dragging an American,
02:03not a partisan, but a prosecutor here to try to perpetrate this lie.
02:08And I'd say this to my ranking member here.
02:13Every person who they bring through to be confirmed for a position asked over and over again,
02:20did Donald Trump win the 2020 election, refuses to say the truth.
02:25This is an eight-year attempt to lie to the American people.
02:29And this is their closing argument, everybody.
02:31Right before an election, this is what they want to spend their time on, perpetrating a lie.
02:39This committee's Republicans are more concerned with Trump than the truth.
02:44More concerned with Trump's crimes than the Constitution.
02:48And I'm watching today, people say, oh, this is an unprecedented investigation.
02:54This man did unprecedented things.
02:56Heck yeah, he did unprecedented things.
02:58Because when has the United States of America seen people storm the Capitol and try to stop
03:05the peaceful transfer of power, beating Capitol Police officers nearly to death?
03:11Brian Sicknick died days after his savage beating.
