00:00Dragonfly has a landed mass of about 450 kilograms. On Titan, Dragonfly would feel as if it only
00:07weighed about 58.5 kilos. And this is where things get really interesting from a physics perspective.
00:13Because this low weight also means Dragonfly only needs 13 of the thrust on Titan that it would need
00:21on Earth. So the rotors have to generate much less lift to take off. At the same time,
00:27Titan's atmosphere is about four times denser than Earth's. That means every square meter of rotor
00:35disc area generates much more lift there than it does here on Earth. Less gravity and higher air
00:40density. That's an almost perfect combination for flying. Basically, Titan is a real paradise for
00:46flight. On Mars, it's exactly the opposite with the extremely thin atmosphere. That's why Ingenuity
00:53has to use huge, huge rotors and very high rotor speeds.
