00:00A dangerous flash flood threat continues in places like New Mexico and southern Colorado and heavy thunderstorms are expanding east
00:06into the central and southern plains.
00:08In a moment, we're going to talk about three cities that have been dealing with tremendous drought, looking at very
00:13heavy rain this week.
00:15We're going to see heavy rain expanded in the southern plains and across Texas, including the hill country, Wednesday evening,
00:21Thursday and Friday.
00:22It'll be very heavy. Some areas in a stripe from far north Texas into the hill country could see four
00:28to eight inches of rain.
00:29Also, some very heavy rain right across the central plains from Kansas into areas like southern Iowa as well.
00:36Many of these areas in Oklahoma and Texas have been exceptionally dry in the past 30 days and even over
00:41the past 60 days.
00:43So here are the three cities. Dallas, Fort Worth, only a hundredth of an inch of rain has fallen since
00:48August 1st.
00:49We're looking at three to six inches through Friday.
00:51Down to the south, Waco, Texas, only 11 hundredths of an inch of rain has fallen since August 1st, two
00:57to four inches just this week.
00:59And to the north in Oklahoma City, we've had four-tenths of an inch, very slim since August 1st.
01:04We're looking at two to four inches of rain falling through Friday.
01:06The very heavy rain is going to slide east.
01:08We need the rain, but it's going to bring flash flood dangers, so it's way too much of a good
01:13thing too fast.
01:14We'll see you next time.
