00:08Wadi Nation and this land we are on today and pay my respects to elders past, present and future.
00:15This is great. I've got a chance to try and get people to see what sort of change we can
00:22make
00:23here and I want to make positive change. I want to talk about active transport and getting more
00:30people cycling, more people walking, finishing this coastal walkway that is half built going
00:35through this seat. I want to talk about bringing down the cost of electricity in the home, getting
00:41more people on solar, getting batteries attached to their solar panels so they can then use that
00:47battery to charge their EV but making that more accessible for everyone so we don't have to put
00:54up with this fuel crisis that we've got at the moment where those who are fortunate enough to
00:59have an EV don't feel the effects of diesel going through the roof. I want to talk about bringing
01:04down the cost of healthcare so that we can have these community facilities where you can get access
01:10to free dental and subsidised mental health services. I want to talk about all of these things. I want to
01:16talk about protecting the water catchment that we have here, the Warrenora water catchment and keeping
01:25the water clean and transitioning the coal mine that is contributing to problems with that water
01:33catchment, transitioning that and the workers there to a new future. I don't want to talk about this. I want
01:40to
01:40talk about protecting the ocean. I mean we are living here, a lot of us, because of the access to
01:46the
01:46beach, because of the access to the escarpment, because we're surrounded by this beautiful nature.
01:52So let's protect that. Let's look after the beaches. Let's make them safer. Let's talk about shark nets and how
01:58they're killing a lot of sea life but also the other measures that we're using that are making the beaches
02:04safer using drones and other technology. So let's use the new technology to improve what is on offer now and
02:12make it
02:12safer for everyone. So that's that's my theme really is let's move forward. Let's adopt new technology.
02:19Let's come up with new ways of improving what we've already got to make it a better place to live
