00:00We're starting to see some of these storms really fire and especially I mentioned last hour I'm watching this storm
00:06in Iowa. I mean certainly watching the storms down into Kansas, Nebraska as well, but we're really seeing an increase
00:11of lightning here over the last hour. That's one of the signs that we look for showing that a storm
00:15is strengthening in intensity there so could see some severe warnings could start to see some stronger wind gusts, which
00:23is within what we're watching for with spotty severe weather tonight's next several hours here damaging wind flash
00:29flooding hail can't completely rule out a tornado or two, but it really is going to be spotty points of
00:36damaging wind gusts. This is all coming though with a cold front that is going to take its sweet time
00:41to get on out of here. So a couple things to point out on future radar. We're going to use
00:45Chicago as an example here. Look at the orientation of the line of storms as we head into the overnight
00:49hours, but also watch what happens as we go into tomorrow morning. So Chicago overnight you start to see the
00:54heavy rainfall continues tomorrow morning. So heads up for your morning commute. But I also want to point out
00:59you notice how the line orientation shifted a little bit. It's starting to move more west to east and be
01:06oriented more north to south and I point that out because it is a surefire sign that flash flooding is
01:11going to start to become an issue. So Wednesday 8am look what happens. We see that orientation even more. So
01:16Chicago you just get hit with every round of rain and thunderstorms until we get to Wednesday evening. Then Thursday
01:22we drop further south with our front. The Ohio Valley becomes the big focus. You can see rain and thunderstorms
01:28into the northeast as well.
01:29So certainly somewhere that we're going to be watching and then finally by the time we get to Thursday later
01:36in the day Thursday we head towards Friday. We start to see some movement. We no longer have the storms
01:42into the Midwest Ohio Valley. It's mid Atlantic and then it's out of here just in time for another pleasant
01:48weekend which we'll talk about more in the big three. But here's the area that we're concerned about for Wednesday.
01:54Now notice it's a green map. It's not a yellow summer risk. I do have one of those to show
01:59you though.
01:59So Wichita up to upstate New York. Flash flooding localized but flash flooding is the biggest concern here. We could
02:05see some stronger storms with damaging wind and some small hail though. Now this is the area where we get
02:11to that severe thunderstorm warning criteria where that's more likely. Cleveland Youngstown up through Erie into western New York but
02:16south of Buffalo here. This is also where if we're going to have an isolated tornado or two this is
02:23where it's most likely to happen. Wednesday afternoon through the evening hours.
02:26So that's your early heads up here for tomorrow. Then Thursday we watched on future radar things drop south. We
02:32also shrink the area that we're talking about. So Evansville all the way up to Pittsburgh through all of West
02:37Virginia again localized flash flooding the biggest concern here with all of the yellows oranges reds that we watched on
02:42future radar. But we could see some of these storms on the stronger side as well. So just have those
02:47alerts on be ready to seek cover if you need to if you're outside. But of course lightning I mean
02:52is going to be a concern either way even if these are not on the stronger side.
02:55So you're going to be able to see some of these storms on the other side.
