00:08So we're here at the San Diego Zoo in Eturi Forest giving out some special fall enrichment
00:13to some mixed species exhibits. All of these animals are from Africa and we have some monkeys
00:19and some otters. For the otters we put some Taplin fish inside the gourd so that they would
00:24have a treat. And then we put peanut butter and honey on the pumpkins and also some corn
00:32inside. And then the pumpkin seeds themselves are a big treat for the monkeys. And also the
00:40pumpkin so you're having a good time eating that. When we put enrichment out it really
00:46depends on the individual animal. Jerry is an Allen Swamp Monkey. He's probably the biggest
00:52instigator. Over on the other side we have spot-nosed gwynens and there's a trio. They're
01:00all siblings and so they kind of work together to really go after the enrichment. Enrichment's
01:08really important to encourage species specific behaviors. It's great to give the animals something
01:15out of the blue that you know fun puzzle to figure out for them to use their mental and
01:22their physical abilities. And it's fun for people to watch too.
