== GAME INFORMATION == Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos is a side-scrolling action platformer and the second game in the original Ninja Gaiden trilogy. The story follows Ryu Hayabusa as he faces Ashtar, the Emperor of Chaos, who kidnaps Irene Lew and plans to use the powerful Dark Sword of Chaos. Ryu once again fights his way through a series of challenging stages using his Dragon Sword and various Ninja Arts. New gameplay features include the ability to climb walls without repeatedly jumping and Spirit Clones, invincible copies of Ryu that follow his movements and attack alongside him.
The Super Nintendo version was released as part of Ninja Gaiden Trilogy and is largely based on the original NES game, with redrawn cinematic sequences, updated visuals, and a password system for continuing progress.
