00:0113 degrees absolutely remarkable considering we're only in the first week of spring. It
00:06was a very abrupt end to winter and a very sharp jump into spring. So as we've heard
00:11temperatures of the low 30s across the Sydney area today 33 degrees is the maximum in the
00:15city but right along the coast we are accepting temperatures in the high 20s to low 30s all
00:20the way up into northern New South Wales and also southern parts of Queensland. It really
00:24is a testament to just how hot the interior of Australia is. We have seen this heat building
00:29for quite some time over the past few days and weeks across parts of northern Western Australia
00:33and the interior of the country. At the moment we've got a very strong cold front moving across
00:38southeast Australia and this is dragging all of that interior heat right across the coast. So
00:43incredible heat and we could see these early season records falling. So that's the
00:47that's the warmest it's been this early in spring. So for today the focus is very much across New
00:52South Wales, Sydney as we've heard but then also across outback parts of New South Wales. Late
00:56morning it has already hit over 30 degrees for places like Burke and up into the southwest of
01:01Queensland and then today we are expecting that heat to really build and we all will also see
01:05those gusty winds picking up into the afternoon. Heat builds across parts of southeast Queensland.
01:10Tomorrow Brisbane is forecast to hit 33 degrees, 35 degrees to parts of western the western suburbs of
01:16Brisbane but there is a very strong contrast with that cold front for those areas behind the cold
01:21front like Melbourne, Tasmania and South Australia. We are seeing much cooler weather and also very
01:26showering conditions as well. Not particularly cold but a very strong temperature grade that we're
01:30currently seeing across the country as this springtime cold front moves through. So if you're
01:34in Sydney and eastern New South Wales it will be quite a warm night tonight. We will see a cool
01:38change pushing up the south coast of New South Wales from early tomorrow morning. It should get to
01:42Sydney around the middle of the day so the temperature in Sydney only 23 degrees is the forecast
01:46maximum but then tomorrow in Brisbane will be very hot. The changes that come through there until later in the
01:51evening and then behind that into the early part of next week we are expecting much cooler weather
01:56really back into the high teens to low 20s. So it is really going to be one or two very
02:00hot days
02:01before we get back into some more typical springtime weather.
