00:01Hi, I'm Russell Brownlee, Liberation Club at Devonport Northampton, here to talk about my experience in 1967 bushfires. It was
00:10a horrendous day. I believed the world was finishing. The sky was on fire and embers were flying everywhere and
00:19nine homes here where I lived were destroyed and 1,200 something I'd lost on the day and a lot
00:27of those people who lost their homes were my school.
00:30Friends and family and friends. I'm sure it's been influenced by thinking over many many years of being able to
00:41volunteer to give back to a society that's looked after me.
