00:00Hello, I'm Jackie Elliott and I'm the Founder and Managing Director of Rural Women's Day.
00:04I live in the Southern Grampians, Victoria at Biodac and I started Rural Women's Day right
00:09here in Dunkeld. Rural Women's Day, I started in 2019 as an opportunity to connect with other
00:16women locally and that has grown into a national organisation and we've hosted 50 events across
00:24rural and regional Australia, connecting rural and regional women through community collaboration
00:27and celebration. Supported by 20 volunteers across rural and regional Australia to help deliver these
00:34events, we are so embracive of supporting rural women and it's about women connecting through
00:40friendship, collaborating in their business and connecting in their communities. It's an honour
00:44to have Rural Women's Day nominated for the Australian Agricultural Awards and to be recognised in the
00:51category of wellbeing and safety. To be recognised as an initiative that supports the wellbeing of rural
00:59and regional women across Australia is really important to me and I'm just so passionate about
01:04being able to create these opportunities for women to come together, to connect,
01:09collaborate and celebrate in their region and in their communities.
