00:06financing the anti-LGBT campaign across Africa and this is particularly visible in that annual
00:13conference that I mentioned which is the African Interparliamentary Conference on Family Values
00:18and Sovereignty. So this is an annual conference of lawmakers from across Africa and self-described
00:24pro-family activists from across Europe and the US as well and a lot of people say that this annual
00:30conference has really influenced anti-LGBT laws in Africa. The first one was actually held in Uganda
00:36in 2023 just before Uganda adopted one of the world's harshest anti-LGBT laws which includes
00:44the death penalty for some same-sex sex acts.
