00:00Does paying over four times more for a blender actually give you a better smoothie?
00:04I put a $30 budget blender head-to-head with the $129 flagship to find out.
00:09To keep it completely fair, I mix the exact same smoothie recipe in both.
00:13Strawberries, banana, yogurt, milk and a little bit of honey for sweetness.
00:17Same amounts, same recipe. Right away you notice the difference.
00:21The $129 model is more powerful, sturdier and easier to use.
00:25It cuts through the ingredients much faster and because of that extra power,
00:28it is louder, but not by much. The $30 budget model by comparison struggles a bit at first,
00:33but it still gets the job done. The result for me on the final taste was negligible.
00:37The $30 blender held its ground surprisingly well, but the real difference was apparent elsewhere.
00:42There were some chunks left at the bottom of the jug and cleaning was a nightmare by comparison.
00:46The takeaway, if you blend daily or deal with tough ingredients or you're in a hurry,
00:50the upgrade is worth it. But if you just need a basic daily smoothie and don't mind more cleaning
00:54time, don't feel like you have to default to the expensive option.
