00:00We went into the press conference room to talk to Aaron Boone, where he said Giancarlo Stanton
00:05will not be back anytime soon. In fact, it is a question mark whether or not he will be back
00:11for the 2026 season. Here's Aaron Boone with the latest on Giancarlo Stanton.
00:18He unfortunately has strained his other calf and his running a couple days ago had fallen,
00:27and the other calf is strained. It's a moderate grade. What that means moving forward, we're
00:39not ruling anything out. He'll obviously continue to work to try and get it right and hopefully
00:47be available, but obviously we're at a point in the calendar where it gets challenging,
00:53but you also never know. Obviously bummed for him. He's been working his tail off every
01:03single day here trying to get this thing right. I think you all know how bad he wants to be
01:08on that field contributing to a championship. Obviously that's disappointing, but hopefully
01:19we just continue to work to get him right and healthy. Aaron, you said that he fell. What
01:24was he doing that he fell? Running, running the bases. And he went out, I believe, in April
01:29with an extremely severe calf. Is it mind-blowing to you that we have not seen him? I mean, yeah.
01:37Obviously it's been a tough road where he kind of re-injured a different part of the calf
01:45calf muscle halfway through here and now this. So tough news. And just feel for G because
01:56I know how bad he wants to be in there with us. But at the same time, it is what
02:02it is
02:03too. And we got to just keep moving and try and hopefully get him right to where he still
02:10can be in the mix by the end. He's in our hitter meetings every day. He's in the trenches
02:16with the guys as much as he can be. I know myself, I admire him so much and who he
02:27is and
02:28the way he goes about things. And the same rings true for everyone in that room. They
02:34look up to him. They respect him. When he speaks, you listen. It means a lot to him to be
02:50able
02:50to go do this. And he understands who he is and what he means to the team when he's in
02:56there. So I think he has the utmost respect and admiration of everyone in that room and
03:05especially me.
03:07Really an unfortunate situation when it comes to John Carlos Dinn because you know when
03:11healthy, how productive he could be at the plate. But here's a look at the timeline of
03:15the injury. April 24th exited the game in Houston, eventually placed on the IL on April 28th
03:22with that right calf strain. Then it seemed like he was nearing a return. They said just
03:26a couple of days, but he suffered a new injury to that same right calf. And then this week,
03:32the left calf caused a problem. He fell while running the bases, injuring that another calf
03:37strain. So he's played just 24 games this season. And although Aaron Boone did not rule him out
03:43for the 2026 season, we know with the calendar where it is right now, time is not on John Carlos
03:50Stanton's side. So you feel for him and trying to get back and so far not being able to do
03:55so.
