00:05Yeah you ready for a TED talk? So in episode level five transporter accident
00:11everyone's turned as a puppet except for Spock. It's funny a lot of people have
00:17been asking me are you sad you're not a puppet oh if there's no puppet for you
00:21you must be so bummed and no I'm not because I'm the one that gets to work
00:25with the puppets you have talked to her since she became a puppet haven't you
00:31the first time I saw my puppet was at the read-through for the episode and oh my
00:36goodness I can't believe we get to be actual puppets a bunch of the actors have
00:44come to set to visit and see them work because it's really special we're
00:48shooting on the bridge and Celia and I ran over to another stage to check out the
00:53puppets and we lost our minds seeing myself as a puppet for the first time
00:59was one of those like real pinch me moments where like I was like this is
01:02gonna be a huge part of my like life story it's amazing totally biased but I
01:08think puppet Ortegas is the most like her character her likeness my eyebrows I feel
01:14like they've particularly got what the hell did we just turn into my goodness
01:20Kelly as puppet I think is my favorite with her tiny little body and her crazy
01:25big hair they are so talented it's crazy it's really uncanny what they're able to
01:33do the first time I saw a puppet sort of come alive literally in the hands of the
01:40puppeteers it's pretty shocking they have the gestures and mannerisms of the actors
01:46playing the characters and they really honed in on what the actors are doing in
01:51their roles as an actor who wants to be able to do all the things we get to do
01:57all the genres and also get to see our puppet likenesses and so it was very
02:01cool getting to see the puppeteers work and just getting to be on set and see
02:05the way that our our camera team and our whole crew kind of adapted to working
02:10with puppets and puppeteers versus us it was sort of easy for me in a way to
02:18dive into having scenes with the puppets because we imagine so much on the show so
02:25often are we sort of exercising our focus and imagination on things that
02:28aren't there there could be ships outside there could be an alien on the
02:34viewscreen on the ship and so we do I think exercise our imaginations quite a lot
02:38and because the puppeteers are so talented and they really do bring life
02:43and spirit into these puppets it's sort of easy to meet them and their reality
02:48whatever it is Spock do it sorry darling did I get you that's alright I can't
02:54actually see out of these I never in a million years thought I would see a
02:58puppet version of a character that I play so it was really beyond thrilling like
03:02childhood dream come true
