00:00Obviously, oil prices are elevated, which people see at the pump, but they have come down substantially from their high
00:06point, and that's because we've been able, despite the Iranians shooting at commercial vessels, we've been able to get a
00:13lot of oil and gas out of the Strait of Hormuz through the great work of our military and some
00:17of our folks on the commercial side.
00:18And so we've got to get more out, but that has been a very successful thing because that is the
00:25Iranians' leverage point.
00:26They are trying to close the Strait down, and if we can not even get it back to where it
00:33was before, but if we can get enough oil and gas out to give some Americans some ease at the
00:40pump, some ease on energy prices, meanwhile the Iranians are punished for shooting at commercial ships,
00:46that just applies a lot of economic pressure to them, and that changes their calculus for what kind of a
00:53deal they want to make, what kind of arrangement they want to have with the United States of America.
00:57Do they want to have their economy strangled for the rest of time, or do they want to have a
01:02better relationship with the West?
01:03That's always been the option that the president has put to these guys, but if they're going to shoot at
01:09ships, they're going to engage in terrorism against commercial vessels,
01:12we're going to do everything that we can to make sure that they're not able to do that, and I
01:17think we've been quite successful.
