00:00World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV players can earn a degree and $15,000 by completing
00:05some of the respective titles' hardest achievements. The University of Silicon Valley in California
00:10is offering a very select few students the chance to earn the Max Achievement Scholarship,
00:15however it's far easier said than done.
00:18As the University explains, the Max Achievement Scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated
00:22extraordinary mastery, persistence and systems thinking through the completion of rare and
00:27demanding achievements in digital gaming environments. Yes, that means that aspiring players need
00:32to get to grinding in their game of choice. For example, World of Warcraft players need
00:36to have Loremaster unlocked, all 13 professions maxed and 25 plus Exalted Reputations, plus
00:42the Keystone Master achievement. Final Fantasy XIV on the other hand requires even more commitment.
00:47You will need all 20 combat jobs and 8 crafter slash gatherer jobs at level 100, plus all
00:52role quests and all 12 Extreme Trials cleared, although it's not specified which ones.
00:56The bottom line is that the scholarship money isn't easily obtainable. It's not just MMOs
01:01on the list. There's everything from Minecraft to Dark Souls. You can even apply as a PC or
01:05console gamer, but you'll need Platinums and perfect games galore. Put simply, there's
01:10no quick way to have a go at the Max Achievement Scholarship money. If you think you might qualify,
01:14though, the university is accepting submissions now.
