Christians Waiting for Healing: Know the God Who Heals and Find Hope

🌿 HEALING BEGINS WITH KNOWING THE HEALER
Understanding God’s Healing, Christ’s Redemption & Our Hope When Healing Is Delayed

Have you ever...
❓ Prayed for healing but wondered why the answer didn't come when you expected?
❓ Asked yourself, “Does God still heal today?”
❓ Wondered why some people experience immediate healing while others continue to wait?
❓ Struggled to reconcile sickness and suffering with the goodness and faithfulness of God?

YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

Healing is one of the most powerful, and sometimes misunderstood subjects in Scripture.
But what if the greatest question isn't simply, **“Will God heal me?”**
What if the deeper question is:

**“WHO IS THE GOD WHO HEALS?”**

There is HOPE...
God's character has not changed.
Jesus Christ has not changed.
Holy Spirit has not changed.
And our ultimate hope is not limited to what happens in our bodies today.

00:06healing begins with knowing the healer understanding god's healing christ's redemption
00:12and our hope when dealing is delayed have you ever prayed for healing and wondered why one
00:18person seems to recover quickly while another person continues to struggle have you ever
00:23believed god for healing stood on his word prayed with faith and yet the answer did not
00:29come in the way or time frame you expected maybe you even asked does god still heal today
00:35why hasn't my healing happened yet did i pray incorrectly is my faith not strong enough or
00:42perhaps you've watched someone you love suffer and you have struggled to reconcile their pain
00:47with everything scripture says about a good and a powerful god these are not small questions
00:53and if we are not careful unanswered questions can slowly become unanswered doubts
00:58today we are going back to the word of god because before we ask will god heal me we need
01:05to ask a deeper question who is the god who heals because our faith cannot ultimately rest on our
01:13circumstances circumstances change bodies change emotions change doctors reports change even our
01:21understanding can change but god does not change so today we're going to journey through scripture
01:28and discover what the bible actually teaches about healing healing begins with knowing the healer
01:34understanding god's healing christ's redemption and our hope when healing is delayed want to know more
01:42hang around
01:47welcome welcome to lion's roar 3 8 ministries amos 3 8 says the lion has roared who will not hear

02:21very good study yes
02:23we got a very good study on healing begins with knowing the healer bringing us to our main verse
02:31today and our main verse comes from the book of exodus chapter 15 verse 26 again as you can see
02:40on the
02:40screen we'll be reading from the new king james version and said if you diligently heed the voice of the
02:49lord your god and do what is right in his sight give you to his commandments and keep all his
02:56statutes
02:58his laws in another word i will put none of the diseases on you which i have brought on the
03:04egyptians
03:05for i am the lord who heals you amen and amen okay welcome welcome welcome we've got the beautiful

03:43and seeing that there's people around the world we've had people from finland australia mauritius
03:48india us all over the place uh watch these programs and it's always encouraging for us as well because
03:55it's a privilege and an honor for us to be able to encourage our brothers and sisters that's what we're
03:59here for we're not in competition this is not a church group we're here to cooperate to help
04:05uh the body of price the churches amen amen so once again if this is your first time welcome
04:12if uh you're coming back good to see you again and uh hang around if you're watching from the business
04:19channel because yes we can pray for you as well but today's study is actually a very interesting one
04:25on healing and i encourage you to listen to it uh not just once listen to it again because there
04:30are
04:30things we're going to bring up today which are foundational right yes but probably things that
04:35you haven't listened to before or things that you would probably be uh consider as controversial
04:41we've had a lot of people and we've we've seen online as well that a lot of our uh viewers
04:48are
04:48from all over the place which is what god has been doing uh in our ministry so when we've got
04:54pentecostals we've got catholics we've got charismatic catholics we've got baptists we've got all
04:59people from all over the place which is fantastic because the teaching we're doing today is not
05:06pentecostal it's christian it's biblical that's what it's all about we're preaching jesus so we're on
05:12the same side amen amen so um yes i encourage you have your bible with you take notes because there
05:19are
05:20there is quite a few scriptures we're going to be supporting through our claims and things that
05:26we're teaching today that we're studying today uh and it's always encouraging for you to go back
05:31and check these things again for yourself amen amen all right healing begins with knowing the healer
05:41and today we're gonna be understanding god's healing christ's redemption and our hope when healing
05:47is delayed so healing whether physical emotional relational or spiritual brokenness is part of
05:57living in a fallen world so we need to understand this remember we are in a fallen world so brokenness
06:05is part of living in a fallen world healing masters matters sorry healing matters so deeply to us it is
06:12also a subject that can produce tremendous faith but unfortunately also tremendous confusion that's
06:20right so some people teach that if you have enough faith you will always be healed immediately and
06:25maybe we have in the past in some of the circles we were hanging around and and just the lack
06:31of
06:31maturity i would say and knowledge um everybody as the bible says fall short of the glory of god
06:38uh but the thing is others believe that god healed in biblical times but no longer heals today which
06:46is also incorrect some people blame themselves when healing does not happen you know oh you know god
06:54didn't heal you because he doesn't see you worthy enough of it that sort of nonsense others become angry
07:00with god and some eventually stop praying altogether because their experience did not match what they
07:06expected scripture to promise but there is a better way there is a right way rather than allowing our
07:16experiences traditions disappointments or assumptions to determine our theology we must allow the word of god
07:24to shape our understanding that's right excuse me my phone because scripture gives us a much bigger picture
07:34from genesis to revelation the bible reveals god as the giver of life the restorer the merciful father the
07:43faithful covenant god and the one who ultimately brings his creation into complete restoration and when jesus christ
07:54came he did not reveal a different god jesus revealed the father he taught he preached he demonstrated the
08:03kingdom and he healed the holy spirit continues his life giving work in the people of god distributing
08:12spiritual gifts according to his will and empowering the church to minister to others and scripture
08:18teaches us to pray we pray for the sick we pray with one another church elders pray over those who
08:25are
08:25suffering believers believers lay hands on people the church intercedes we believe god can heal but we also
08:33need to deal honestly with another biblical reality which is not as popular and probably controversial
08:43sometimes healing is immediate sometimes healing is progressive and sometimes healing comes through
08:51ordinary means and god's providence doctors etc sometimes we wait and sometimes faithful believers die
08:59without receiving the physical healing they prayed for in this present age and there's many examples
09:05biblical examples including the man with the wounds that the dog would come and lick his wounds
09:10there's present examples including the amazing minister that we've met uh nick vujicic born without
09:19legs and arms he now lives in america he prayed for it didn't never happen he still doesn't have legs
09:24and
09:25arms yet he's doing amazing things for god you see that does not mean that god has stopped being god
09:31it does not mean his character has changed and it does not mean that every unanswered prayer should be
09:36explained by blaming the person who is suffering our ultimate hope is bigger than temporary physical
09:43restoration our ultimate hope is resurrection amen so romans 8 tells us that we are waiting for the
09:51redemption of our bodies philippians 3 tells us that christ will transform our lowly bodies to be like
09:58his glorious body and revelation 21 gives us the final picture there will be no more death no more
10:05sorrow no more crying no more pain so today we are not going to build our theology around one testimony
10:12one disappointment one healing service or one unanswered prayer we are going to build it around
10:18jesus christ and the whole council of scripture amen our goal is not simply to learn about healing our goal
10:27is to
10:27know the healer because when we know who god is we can trust him when we understand
10:35and we can trust him when we don't so the following other topics and subtopics we'll be discussing
10:41today number one god's character as healer knowing who god is before focusing on what god does
10:50number two christ and covenant healing understanding healing through jesus's redemptive work number three
10:57jesus holy spirit and the church how healing is demonstrated empowered and ministered number four
11:05gifts of healing and the ministry of prayer understanding spiritual gifts intercession agreement laying on our
11:12hands and discernment and in this section we'll also have the subtopics of a praying for someone be praying
11:20with someone and c praying over someone and number five timing delay and future hope trusting god when
11:29healing is immediate progressive delayed or ultimately fulfilled in resurrection number six will be our
11:36summary and last but not least number seven declaration prayer all right so let's open our hearts
11:44open our bibles and allow the holy spirit to lead us into all truth amen amen healing begins with knowing
11:53the
11:53healer so let's begin with number one you sing which is god god's character as healer knowing who god is
12:06before focusing on what god does so one of the first great revelations of healing in scripture comes shortly
12:15after israel crossed the red sea and that has to do with our main verse having experienced god's
12:24deliverance from egypt they arrive at marah where the water was bitter exodus chapter chapter 15 god did not
12:33merely make the water drinkable he used the moment to reveal part of his character he declared i am the
12:41lord that healeth thee exodus chapter 15 verse 26 notice that god did not simply say i heal instead he
12:50revealed who he is it is not presented as something separated from god's nature now throughout the bible this
13:00truth remain consistent for god's work flows from his character it's a very important thing to always
13:07remember because he is merciful he shows mercy because he is faithful he keeps his promises because he is holy
13:16his
13:17ways are righteous likewise because he is a lord who heals healing is consistent with his unchanging nature
13:26scripture scripture repeatedly shows that god heals physical sickness emotional wounds and spiritual
13:34brokenness he restores those who cry out to him and brings renewal through his word and mercy and we can
13:42see those in key passages like um exodus chapter 15 verse 26 like we said i am the lord that
13:50heals thee
13:50psalm 30 verse 2 and psalm 41 verse 3 god heals and restore psalm 103 verse 1 to 5 where
14:00he says he forgives
14:01iniquities and heals diseases psalm 147 verse 3 where it says he heals the brokenhearted and binds up wounds psalm
14:12107
14:13psalm 117 verse 19 to 20 he sends his word and heals jeremiah chapter 17 verse 14 and chapter 30
14:22verse 70 says
14:24prayers and promises of healing these are biblical verses which um correspond to the character of god being
14:32the healer let's let me give you a life analogy for it right we're talking about god's god's character as
14:39healer
14:40now imagine discovering serious damage in your home there are broken windows damaged wall leaking pipes
14:47and problems you cannot see beneath the surface you could spend all time staring at each individual
14:53problem and become overwhelmed but then the owner of the house arrives he knows the original design he
15:03knows what has been damaged he knows what needs to be repaired and he knows how to restore it
15:10see our confidence begins to grow then and those who go through that their confidence will begin to grow
15:17not because the house then is already restored but because you know the person who understand the house
15:23completely in the same way scripture introduces god not merely as someone who occasionally performs
15:30healing but as the lord who heals he heals the brokenness around us right so the brokenness around
15:38us may be complicated our bodies may be complicated our emotions may be complicated but god is not confused
15:45by our brokenness we may not understand every step of his restoration but we can know his character
15:53the foundation of our faith is not the condition of the house it is a character of the restorer amen
16:01amen
16:03number two christ and covenant healing understanding healing through jesus redemptive work
16:10all right so healing is deeply connected to the redemptive work of christ jesus isaiah 53 verses 4 to 5
16:19declares by his wound we are healed and matthew 8 16 to 17 shows jesus fulfilling that prophecy
16:27in his healing ministry 1 peter 2 verse 24 reaffirms the same truth by whose stripes ye were healed
16:38see the biblical language of healing further confirms this through isaiah 53 verse 5 which uses the word
16:45rafa which translates directly to to heal to heal to cure or to restore and 1 peter 2 24 uses
16:56the greek word
16:57i o my hopefully i said it correctly i'm not greek which means to heal cure or make whole this
17:07covers both
17:07literal physical restoration and figurative spiritual recovery both point to the healing accomplished
17:16through christ's redemptive work which believers experience according to god's purposes now and will
17:23experience fully in the resurrection jesus did not contradict the father's character he revealed it
17:30perfectly hebrews 13 verse 8 reminds us that jesus christ is the same yesterday today and forever his unchanging
17:39character gives confidence that the god revealed throughout scripture remains faithful today hebrews 13 8 in the
17:48amplified classic says jesus christ the messiah is always the same yesterday today yes and forever to the ages
17:57amen this does not mean every prayer is answered according to our preferred timing or expectation but it does
18:06assure us that god's character never changes so let me give you a life analogy we're talking about
18:13number two christ and covenant healing imagine sitting with a physician with a doctor who has cared for
18:21your family for many years you may not understand every test you may not understand every diagnosis
18:26you may not understand why one treatment is prescribed before another but you trust the physician
18:34because you know their character experience and commitment to your well-being that does not mean you blindly
18:41accept everything without asking questions it means your questions exist within a relationship of trust
18:49our relationship with jesus is even greater we do not trust christ merely because he can give us
18:56something we trust him because he is lord his cross reveals his love his resurrection reveals his victory his
19:05ministry reveals the father's heart and his unchanging character gives us confidence when circumstances
19:12are changing faith is not pretending that we understand everything faith is trusting the one who does amen
19:21amen amen all right number three jesus holy spirit and the church how healing is demonstrated empowered and ministered
19:31now jesus demonstrated the kingdom of god through healing as george spoke before he taught preach and healed
19:39every kind of sickness showing the father's heart in action as seen in matthew chapter 4 23 to 24
19:47matthew 9 35 jesus healed every sickness luke chapter 4 verse 18 and luke chapter 6 verse 19 shows power
19:56went out
19:57from jesus to heal acts chapter 10 verse 38 from the ampc says how god anointed and consecrated jesus of
20:05nazareth with the holy spirit with the holy spirit and with strength and ability and power
20:10how he went about doing good and in particular curing all who were harassed and oppressed by
20:18the power of the of the devil for god was with him now holy spirit continues that life-giving work
20:26in us
20:26believers empowering us and distributing gifts as his will this is clearly evident in 1 corinthians chapter 6
20:35verse 19 to 20 the body is a temple of the holy spirit we're talking about our bodies as christian
20:41john chapter 7 verse 37 to 39 and 2 corinthians chapters uh previous um verse 6 the spirit gives life
20:51romans chapter 14 verse 17 and 1 corinthians chapter 4 verse 20 where it's where it says the kingdom is
20:58shown in spirit power then we have also romans chapter 8 verse 11 from the ampc and it says this
21:06and if the spirit of him who raised up jesus from the dead dwells in you talking about us then
21:13he who
21:14raised up christ jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal short-lived perishable bodies
21:22through his spirit who dwells in you now as a church we are also called to participate in healing
21:30ministry through prayer anointing laying of hands and faithful service this is clearly evident in luke
21:37chapter 9 verse 1 to 2 luke chapter 10 8 to 9 where disciples are commissioned acts chapter 3 verse
21:441 to 16
21:44acts chapter 5 12 to 16 acts chapter 8 5 to 8 acts chapter 14 8 to 10 where it
21:52will describe healing in
21:54the early church james chapter 5 verse 14 to 16 where elder pray annoyed with oil and confess sin
22:02and we have mark chapter 16 verse 17 to 18 from the ampc where it says and these attesting sign
22:09will
22:09accompany those who believe in my name they will drive out demons they will speak in new languages they
22:17will pick up serpents and even if they drink anything deadly it will not hurt them they will lay hand
22:24sorry they will lay their hands on the sick and they will get well so what we're talking is number
22:31three
22:32um jesus holy spirit and the church let me give you a life analogy for it imagine a fire burning
22:39strongly in one place when another piece piece of wood is brought into contact with that fire
22:46it becomes warm and eventually carries the fire itself the second piece of wood did not create the fire
22:54it received from the fire before and became a carrier of what it had received jesus is a perfect revelation
23:05of the kingdom holy spirit empowers us god's people and the church and is called to become us the church
23:13we are called to become a faithful expression of christ's love and ministry to the world we are not
23:18ourselves the source god is the source we do not manufacture healing we do not control holy spirit we do
23:25not replace
23:26jesus we simply become a valuable vessel through whom god may work this keeps us humble when healing happens
23:37and keep us faithful when we pray and the outcome is different from what we expected see the vessel
23:45must never receive the glory that belongs to the source amen amen number four gifts of healing and the
23:53ministry of prayer understanding spiritual gift intercession agreement laying on hands and discernment
24:01okay so there's a bit to cover in this section so now it is foundational to understand the gift of
24:09healing and the context in which 1 corinthians 12 speaks of it paul was teaching about the unity
24:16and diversity of the body of christ the corinthian church was divided and overly impressed by certain gifts
24:23especially tongues so paul emphasizes that all gifts come from the same spirit and are given for the common good
24:31he emphasized points such as spiritual gifts are different but they all come from the same spirit
24:39gifts are healing means healing is one of the spirit's gifts but not everyone has the same gift in the
24:48same way
24:50holy spirit gives gifts as he chooses not as people choose for themselves there's a lot of doctrines going
24:58out there and it's been going on for quite a while where and i'll throw this in quickly before i
25:04continue
25:05uh where we've we've embraced a lot of wokeness nonsense into the church and part of that is basically
25:13saying and i can't get too much into it but it's basically saying that everybody's the same
25:16that everybody has holy spirit everybody has the kingdom of god therefore everybody can do the same
25:22thing if that was the case there would be no levite priests chosen by god in the old testament there
25:27would
25:27be no apostles disciples or any of any of the five-fold ministry in the new testament
25:33and yes we in the past again were mixed with other certain groups that believe that sort of
25:39uh i i would say more like uh ignorant theology because it is ignorant no not everybody is the same
25:47yes we do have the same holy spirit yes we do have the same kingdom of god in us
25:53but everybody is unique and everybody has a different calling
26:00so with that in mind let me continue the church is like a body as the bible tells us different
26:08members have different functions that's right and all are needed it does not mean that i'm bigger and
26:14you're smaller no they're all needed when paul asks are all apostles are all prophets do all have gifts of
26:24healings the expected answer was not yes no the expected answer is no that's right this does not mean
26:32again that christians should not pray for healing it means that every believer has the same it means sorry
26:40not every believer has the same spiritual gift and here's where let me say that more clearly not every
26:47believer walks in the same as powerfully in the same spiritual gifts that's right since you have holy
26:56spirit in you living inside of you as a believer since you have the kingdom of god in you yes
27:01you have
27:02access to all the spiritual gifts but the reality is you will be stronger more anointed more ordained
27:09by god in specific spiritual gifts which are relevant and support your calling than other gifts you
27:19understand what i'm saying because it's it depends on your function in the body of christ the reality
27:25is again like i said because we've gotten into this trend where we tell people to that everything is
27:30fine we can all pray for each other we can all it's asking for trouble what that has caused the
27:37realities in the charismatic churches let's be realistic and truthful here what that has caused
27:42is the vision arrogance pride and then we wonder why there's a massive turnover in churches we wonder
27:49why there is no respect for leadership we wonder why nobody's willing to be accountable to anybody
27:56because of that very reason so one of the biblical points we need to understand is that god is a
28:02god of
28:02order that's right everything he does has purpose and is done with clarity so let's break this down a
28:10little further we need to understand the difference between praying for praying with and praying over
28:17somebody because yes there is a difference that's right a praying for someone okay this is praying to god
28:26god on behalf of another person whether or not they are physically present
28:33it is an act of intercession asking god to work in their life according to his will according to god's
28:41will james 5 16 james 5 16 pray for one another that ye may be healed ephesians 6 18 praying
28:51always for all
28:53saints saints 1 timothy 2 verse 1 paul encourages supplications prayers intercessions for all men
29:01colossians 1 verse 9 amongst others paul says we do not cease to pray for you amen so that is
29:09a praying
29:11for someone now b praying with someone okay praying with someone most of us know what this means
29:20this is praying together with another believer or a group of believers joining in faith and agreement
29:26before god let me give you some biblical references here matthew 18 19 to 20 jesus teaches about believers
29:34agreeing together in prayer acts 4 24 to 31 the early church lifted their voices together in prayer acts 12
29:44verse 5 and verse 12 the church gathered and prayed together for peter amen amen and c praying over
29:54someone that's very important to understand because there is a danger in this one if you don't understand
30:00it go for now so praying over someone this usually describes a believer an elder or a church leader
30:07praying directly over someone often while laying hands on them or anointing them with oil as an outward
30:14expression of seeking god's work excuse me we need to understand that this is in context with someone with
30:21authority who can lay hands for prayer now very quickly i'll give a quick example because i can hear
30:27somebody's thoughts already saying uh but what if uh i am a lot more knowledgeable a lot more experienced than
30:32our pastor okay if the pastor who has been godly appointed in authority over you gives you that consent
30:40gives you that go that uh um permission permission then go ahead because now you're covered you're
30:49covered with god's authority but if you're doing things on your own you're in rebellion and what what
30:55you're doing is you're opening up a door for an attack and there will be retaliation oh yes it's the
31:00truth this is the truth of the matter whether you like it or not it's not popular no we've seen
31:05that
31:06so many times in lions row 38 ministries we do not do popular we do truth hence the reason we
31:12don't
31:13have millions of followers it's hard to hear the truth isn't it but it's the truth nonetheless amen so
31:19again let me say this again we need to understand this is in context with someone with authority
31:23who can lay hands for prayer or someone who has the backing of their church to pray over others
31:28amen let me give you example here a parent over their kids a husband or wife over each other
31:35a priest a pastor or deacon as per the backing as i just said of their leader you may ask
31:42but we all
31:43have the same spirit george the holy spirit yes but contrary to what's trending as i said before we do
31:50not walk with the same authority or the same office in the body of christ again if that was the
31:56case why
31:56we have the powers there's many examples in the bible why do we have the parables of the talent
32:00why did god say you know what take from him and give to him why why would there be a
32:07difference if
32:08we're all the same and everybody can do the same thing everybody should have the same equity isn't this
32:13a work nonsense everybody should have the same gifts everybody should walk in the same power everybody
32:18should have the same uh uh authority everybody should have the same prosperity let's be real
32:24here is every christian walking the same prosperity no so not all of us function the same but as mentioned
32:32before we all have our purpose it doesn't mean that i'm more important than you you're more important
32:38than him no we all have our purpose even in the church it is the same thing it's god's ordained
32:45order
32:45some have been appointed as apostles while others serve as teachers and so on check out the bible
32:52there's biblical evidence 1 corinthians 12 28 to 30 i'm reading from the amplified classic so god has
33:00appointed some in the church for his own use first apostles special messengers second prophets
33:08inspired preachers and expounders third teachers then wonder workers talking about miracles
33:14then those with the ability to heal the sick helpers
33:21administrators speakers in different unknown tongues and then he says this are all apostles special
33:31messengers are all prophets inspired interpreters of the will and purposes of god are all teachers
33:38sounds different when it's in context doesn't it when you don't take things out of order are all
33:43teachers do you all have the power of performing miracles do you all possess extraordinary powers of
33:50healing do you all speak with tongues do you all interpret acts 19 demonstrates the danger of attempting
33:58spiritual warfare apart from a genuine relationship with christ jesus and his ordained authority that's right
34:06acts 19 13 13 16 tells us uh this passage recounts the story of the seven sons of skeeva jewish
34:15priests jewish
34:17chief priests who attempted to cast out evil spirits without god ordained spiritual authority but you just said
34:24spiritual authority yes there were priests and they were had a spiritual authority but in this case what the problem
34:29was was not the god-ordained spiritual authority was the lack of relationship with christ jesus that's right
34:35that's the problem there as well it's hard to go through a lot of things i mean we have a
34:41lot of
34:42testimonies we could give you we we know pastors who went and did deliverance and that while doing
34:48deliverance that spirit talked to that pastor and said this is what you're doing in your house
34:52and that is the truth that is not me making up right this is what you're doing in your house
34:57the pastor had to stop what
34:58he was doing and go because all his secrets came out so thus keep going so they tried to use
35:06the name of jesus
35:07as a magical formula saying i command you by the jesus whom paul preaches to come out see the evil
35:13spirit
35:13challenged their lack of authentic authority replying jesus i know paul i know about but who are you the
35:21the possessed men attacked them with such violence that they fled out of the house naked and wounded
35:30it's funny come on let's be realistic here there's a little religious no church
35:35come on attempting to engage in spiritual warfare or authoritative authoritative command commanding
35:43prayer without a mandate legal right legal right or without genuine submission to christ
35:52and dependence upon his authority is extremely dangerous we're not saying that you can't do it
35:58we're saying it's dangerous unless you have that legal right that um ordained authority from god
36:09and you have a relationship with god god you're setting yourself up for massive retaliation
36:16i'm not scared george okay i'll be sincere with you we were in a movement before for many years and
36:22i i
36:23i saw more divorces in that movement than ever ever in any other church there was divorces there was
36:31affairs there was sexual immorality going rampant in the church gee i wonder why here's some biblical
36:39references james 5 14 to 15 let him call for the elders of the church and let them pray over
36:46him
36:46anointing him with oil in the name of the lord luke 4 40 jesus laid his hands on every one
36:54of them and
36:54healed them acts 28 verse 8 paul prayed laid his hands on poop publius publius father father and he
37:05was healed now even in the church and otherwise we are taught in the word of god to be discerning
37:12not just allowing others to lay hands on us willy-nilly again we've been very cautious and very pedantic in
37:19this section the reason why we're doing that is because we know uh because we we don't just stick
37:25to one movement yes when i met my wife we were a lot in the pentecostal movement but god over
37:30the
37:30years has opened up doors and we've been able to minister and learn not just from pentecostals but
37:36from charismatic catholics from evangelicals from presbyterians from anglicans we've been all over
37:42the place so don't be afraid don't be afraid we're not trying to put fear we're trying to be
37:47bring cautiousness we're trying to bring wisdom that's so important because you we don't we don't
37:53want to be walking in a looseness of the trend that i spoke about where you basically think you're just
37:59invincible and you can do anything you like and you don't want to go to the other side where
38:05they put so much fear into you that you couldn't do anything without their consent even to bless
38:09your household even to whatever you were so fearful you always had to get the priest to do everything no
38:14you don't want to go to that side either what we're saying is we want to look at the bible
38:18what
38:19does the bible say what is the word of god the truth say and that's what we are preaching keep
38:25going so just because there's a manifestation remember just because there's a manifestation
38:28does not mean it is from god we need to test the spirits and check the fruits of it so
38:35matthew 7 22-23
38:37matthew 7 22-23 is a warning that religious words and even impressive works are not the same as knowing
38:45jesus so in the passage people say prophesied cast out demons and did miracles in his name but jesus
38:53replies i never knew you because their actions were not rooted in true obedience and relationship with
39:01him that's very important remember there is power in the name of jesus so yes manifestation can still
39:08happen and most likely will happen nine out of ten times but is there healing so let me give you
39:14a
39:14life analogy in this section we're talking about gifts of healing and the ministry of prayer think about
39:21your own body your eyes do something your hands cannot do your hands do something your feet cannot do
39:28your heart performs a function your lungs cannot perform different parts have different functions
39:35but they belong to one body paul uses this precisely kind of picture when teaching about
39:42spiritual gifts the church is one body the holy spirit distributes different gifts and functions among
39:49its members that means we should never compete over gifts we should never boast because god has used us we
39:56should never feel insignificant because we do not operate in the same way someone else does
40:02some may have particular gifts of healings others may have gifts of faith gifts of mercy gifts of
40:08administration teaching prophecy helping or other forms of service but every believer can participate in
40:16prayer we can pray for people we can pray with people and in appropriate biblical context church leaders and
40:23others can pray over people the power belongs to god the glory belongs to god the gifts belong to holy
40:32spirit
40:33and the purpose is the strengthening and serving the unity of the body of christ different vessels one spirit
40:43one lord one body amen amen all right number five timing delay and future hope trusting god
40:53when healing is immediate progressive delayed or ultimately fulfilled in resurrection now healing in scripture
41:00happens in different ways and at different times some would even argue there is a very thin line
41:07between healing and miracles one being progressive this the second one instantaneous whatever the case the
41:16biblical reality is that healing often comes during obedience sometime after persistent prayer and
41:22sometimes it delays or even not fully experienced in this life timing of healing can vary as
41:30seen from this scripture instantaneous you have it in matri chapter 8 verse 3 and um 13 mark chapter 1
41:39verse 31 mark chapter 2 11 to 12 and acts chapter 3 6 to 8 progressive healings found in match
41:47uh sorry mark chapter 8
41:49verse 22 to 25 verse 22 to 25 during obedience luke chapter 17 verse 14 2 kings chapter 5 10
41:56to 14
41:58after persistent prayer 2 kings um 20 verse 1 to 7 delayed or unhealed in season you have you you
42:08can look at
42:08those characters in the bible you have those characters in the bible you have paul peter i'm sorry paul timothy
42:13oh trump i hope i said finals to primus and epaphroditus those words is a mouthful we are called to
42:26wait
42:26well when healing is delayed scripture calls us to encourage each other speak grace-filled words avoid being a
42:36stumbling block just because you're not healed yet you don't need to be a stumbling block onto others
42:41as you bless you shall be blessed trust god's timing not measure god by experience bear with each other's
42:49burden confess struggle honestly so that you can receive hope persevere in goodness in terms of future
42:57hope the bible also point to a final and complete healing in the resurrection and new creation
43:03found in romans chapter 8 verse 23 redemption of our bodies philippians chapter 3 20 to 21 our bodies
43:11transform like christ's glorious body revelation chapter 21 verse 4 no more death mourning crying or pain
43:19healing is not only about what god does now but also about the full restoration he promises in the future
43:27while we wait we live in faith hope and perseverance perseverance looking ahead to the day when healing will
43:35be fully complete so what we're talking about is about timing delay and future hope let me give you a
43:41life
43:42analogy about that imagine planting a seed you put it into the ground you water it you protect it you
43:49wait
43:50for days nothing appears to change if you judge the seed only by what you could you could see on
43:56the surface
43:57you might conclude that nothing is happening but beneath the soil processes are taking place that you
44:04cannot see eventually something breaks through the ground growth becomes visible but even then the harvest
44:12does not appear overnight the christian life also teaches us to live by faith rather than merely by what our
44:18eyes
44:19can immediately see however there is an important distinction we must never use the analogy of a seed to
44:28guarantee that every physical healing will eventually happen in the present life scripture give us great hope
44:36hope sometimes we see restoration now sometimes we wait sometimes god uses medicine doctors rest community
44:43or an ordinary means and sometimes the final healing comes through resurrection we ask christian hope is
44:51our hope is therefore not on i will definitely get everything i want in this life the christian hope is
44:58god is
44:58faithful christ is victorious death will not have the final word and one day god will make all things new
45:06that hopes allow us to pray boldly today while remaining faithful to god when we must wait
45:13we pray with faith for today and we'll live with hope for eternity amen amen amen all right let let
45:19us give you
45:20a summary of the whole study amen all right so god reveals himself as the lord who heals healing is
45:29consistent
45:30with his character of mercy compassion faithfulness and restoration but scripture does not give us
45:36permission to reduce healing to a simplistic formula that's so important jesus christ perfectly revealed the heart
45:46of the father his earthly ministry demonstrated the kingdom through teaching preaching deliverance
45:52and healing while his suffering death and resurrection stand at the center of god's redemptive plan
46:01holy spirit gives life dwells within believers and distributes spiritual gifts according to his will
46:07the church is therefore called to pray intercede serve encourage and minister to those who are suffering always
46:15remembering that god is the source and we are the vessels not everyone receives the same spiritual
46:22gift including gifts of healings yet every believer can participate in prayer and compassionate ministry
46:29we pray for people pray with people and in appropriate biblical context church leaders and others may pray over
46:36and anoint those who are sick scripture also teaches teaches us that healing does not always happen in the same
46:44way
46:45or the same timetable some people experience immediate healing others experience progressive healing
46:51some were healed after obedience or earnest prayer and scripture also records faithful believers who remain
46:59sick for a season therefore we must never measure god's character solely by our immediate experience our
47:06ultimate hope is greater than temporary physical restoration romans chapter 8 verse 23 speak of
47:12the redemption of our bodies philippians 3 20 to 21 speaks of the transformation of our bodies
47:18into the likeness of christ's glorious body and revelation 21 verse 4 gives us the final promise
47:26there will be no more death mourning crying or pain now let me say something before george got you i
47:32could hear
47:32say someone says oh it's you're just saying that because you haven't seen let me just put it out there
47:36and that is
47:37with lots of love and humility we are saying that because we want people to understand the foundation of it
47:44without you
47:44without anybody keep trying to figure out why the healing is not coming or why this one had healing quicker
47:50than the
47:50other have we experienced it yes we've experienced straight away healing we've experienced persistent healing
47:57and i'm talking i'm not even talking about those we prayed for i'm talking about personal life right
48:03we've experienced all those things as well we've experienced um we've prayed for people who who um
48:10who was in a coma came back to life gave their life to christ two days later they call and
48:15said you know
48:16the person's gone back to in coma pray again the person sat up and then i don't i forgot what
48:21happened but
48:21the person died didn't didn't last that long i had infection for over four years
48:25ear infection on both sides of the ears it was a progressive healing i got completely healed of it
48:32but it took four years i saw with my own eyes on stage over 20 000 church in india two
48:41young boys
48:42two brothers who were born deaf uh deaf and mute could not hear could not speak and their very first
48:49words
48:50was jesus both of them in a row we've seen people who get off wheelchairs that they're born retracted
48:58straight away instantaneously so what we are saying is not something that um oh it's because you didn't
49:04experience it or you're bitter or anything no we truly also saw people who died without being healed
49:12we saw also people who became bitter in their heart and even left christ and stopped believing in
49:19healing because they haven't seen it happen in their life and but they've seen it in others
49:25and that is the point of this keep going so we pray boldly we believe god heals we seek him
49:34faithfully we minister compassionately we discern carefully we wait patiently and we trust completely
49:44because our faith is not ultimately anchored in a particular outcome our faith is anchored in the one
49:51who never changes amen amen so healing begins with knowing the healer which is the title of today
49:58and when we know the healer we can trust him whether we are standing in the breakthrough
50:03walking through the process or waiting for the complete restoration that will come when christ
50:08makes all things new amen amen all right this brings us to our declaration prayer so we're
50:15going to be doing a declaration prayer as usual finish with a declaration prayer so we're going to be
50:19declaring uh the word of god most of the scriptures that we've been using today we're going to be
50:24declaring it speaking it out loud that's right praying over our lives with those scriptures amen so you can
50:30just listen to it receive and if you need healing right now these are the declaration that we are
50:36speaking of receive it receive your healing as by faith as you're listening to it okay amen amen
50:44go ahead yeah exodus chapter 15 verse 26 and psalm 103 1 to 5 these we were going to say
50:53the verses
50:53with um where we got it first before we do the decree lord we thank you lord god father because
51:00you
51:00are the lord who heals us we praise you for your mercy faithfulness and unchanging character we place
51:07our confidence in you in who you are and trust you even when we do not understand your timing
51:14hebrews 13 verse 8 isaiah 53 verses 4 to 5 we declare that jesus christ is the same yesterday today
51:23and forever we trust in his redemptive work and remain confident in the faithfulness of god romans
51:30chapter 8 verse 11 and john chapter 7 37 to 39 we decree and declare that the holy spirit dwell
51:36in us and gives
51:38us us life we trust the work of the holy spirit and acknowledge that god distributes spiritual gifts
51:45according to his will james 5 verses 14 to 16 and ephesians 6 verse 18 we declare that we will
51:53pray for
51:53one another encourage one another and seek god in prayer when healing is needed 1 corinthians chapter 12
52:014 4 verse 4 to 11 and 28 to 30 we decree and declare that we will honor the different
52:08gifts and function
52:09within the body of christ knowing that the holy spirit gives gifts as he chooses romans 8 23 philippians 3
52:1920
52:19to 21 we declare that we have hope in the redemption of our bodies and look forward to the transformation
52:26promise through christ jesus revelation chapter 21 verse 4 we declare that our hope is in the day when
52:33there will be no more death mourning crying or pain we will continue in faith hope and perseverance
52:41as we wait for the complete restoration god has promised we pray all this in the mighty name of
52:47the lord jesus christ amen and amen and for every single one of those out there that needs healing not
52:53just physical healing trauma trauma healing from trauma mental healing um whatever it is that you're
53:01struggling with right now in the mighty name of jesus lord over the word that we've just studied the word
53:05that we just um yeah that we've dived and and and and uh tasted today it is very good so
53:16right now in jesus
53:17mighty mighty name we command every single body out there that is suffering every mind that is suffering
53:25emotions emotions we commanded to align with god's word right now you must obey in the mighty name of
53:31jesus whether it's progressive whether it's immediate lord it's your will but we command nonetheless based on
53:38your command that we should pray we're praying right now yes over our brothers and sisters right now in the
53:44mighty name of jesus by the blood of jesus it is done it is done in jesus mighty name amen
