00:02CME Group is partnering with Silicon Data to launch the first futures contracts tied to the
00:08cost of artificial intelligence computing power, according to CNBC. The two compute futures
00:14contracts are set to launch on October 5th, pending regulatory approval. They will allow
00:21companies and investors to trade and hedge the rental cost of NVIDIA H100 and newer Blackwell
00:26B200 graphics processing units. The contracts will be based on silicon data indexes tracking
00:32hourly GPU rental prices, with each contract representing a month's rent for an NVIDIA H100.
00:39The launch would give AI developers and data center operators a way to hedge computing costs
00:44or revenues while allowing investors to gain exposure to the price of computing capacity
00:49itself. For all things money, visit Benzinga.com.
