00:32The union says the statewide strike comes off the back of ten months of negotiations with the government with little
00:37to no progress made.
00:39There's the wages, there's the workload issues and then there's the career structures and we need them to deal with
00:45all three of them.
00:46It's left 43 sites across Victoria operating on limited staff today, affecting all non-emergency patients.
00:53The hospital doesn't run without us, I feel we are the forgotten workforce, you know, I've seen the state get
01:01around our teachers and our nurses and our doctors but what about us, what about us?
01:05The government says it is committed to securing a deal and believes negotiations are continuing in good faith but the
01:12union says if a viable offer isn't brought to the table soon, it will not rule out striking again.
01:18My focus is to make sure that we are progressing these negotiations and reaching an agreement that is fair and
01:26recognises the incredible contribution our health workers make.
01:30If we don't fight, we lose but also public health loses in Victoria.
01:33And that fight is far from over with public hospital doctors taking their turn to down the tolls on Thursday.
