Interponen querella formal por envenenamiento masivo de animales en Las Guázumas

SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS. — Representantes de la Fundación Patricia Blanco Animal Foundation, acompañados por comunitarios y la abogada Yasmín Correa Mena, acudieron ante las oficinas del Ministerio Público para depositar una querella formal con relación al envenenamiento masivo de animales ocurrido en la comunidad de Las Guázumas.  De acuerdo con las declaraciones de la licenciada Correa Mena, el hecho provocó la muerte de unos 184 animales, entre ellos mascotas domésticas y animales comunitarios. La representación legal y los afectados expresaron su indignación ante la medida de coerción impuesta al presunto responsable, consistente en una garantía económica de 150 mil pesos, la cual consideran insuficiente dada la magnitud y gravedad de los hechos.  Durante la manifestación, afectados como el señor Domingo de Jesús denunciaron entre lágrimas las pérdidas sufridas en sus hogares, donde el agresor habría lanzado embutidos envenenados desde un vehículo en marcha, provocando la muerte de perros, aves de corral y otras especies. Asimismo, manifestaron el temor de que la sustancia tóxica ponga en riesgo la vida de los niños de la zona.  Por su parte, Patricia Blanco, presidenta de la fundación protectora de animales, hizo un llamado a las autoridades judiciales para que este caso marque un precedente en el país contra el maltrato animal, asegurando que darán seguimiento al proceso legal hasta las últimas consecuencias.
