00:14Hi, Pepsters! Welcome to PepLive. I'm Rachel Siazon. And I'm FK Bravo. And today we have
00:21very exciting guests with us. From representing the Philippines on the world stage to carrying
00:27their advocacies close to their heart, these three women are proving that today's beauty queens are
00:33more than just their gowns and their crowns. Joining us today are Miss Universe Philippines
00:392026, Bea Milan Windorski. We also have Miss Supranational Philippines 2027, Alison Hetland.
00:52And Miss Charm Philippines 2026, April Smee.
00:59Yes. Okay, so please greet our Pepsters ladies. You all look so gorgeous today.
01:05Hello, Pepsters. Hello, Pepsters. Okay, as is customer with our other PepLive episodes,
01:12we always start with an icebreaker. But for this one, it's going to be a short one. It's just one
01:17question. And we would like to ask you, in just one word, how would you describe your life these days?
01:26Well, for me, I'll go first. In just one word. So maybe it's living, because right now I'm living my
01:34dream. And I'm living to be an inspiration to all the little April Smith out there. And I'm living my
01:42dream to be carrying the Philippine flag soon. Wow. Exciting times. Okay, mine would have to be
01:52blessed. Because just after coronation, the overflow of blessings is insane. And sometimes I still can't
02:00grasp how much has happened after the coronation. But I think that word would be blessed.
02:06Okay, beautiful word. The word I would go with is together, because I really believe that leadership
02:14is not about standing ahead. It's about walking together. So I've been really blessed to use the
02:20Miss Universe Philippines SASH to work with different environmental nonprofits and organizations all around
02:26the Philippines, especially as we're heading into rainy season, making sure that communities are more
02:32prepared and disaster resilient, making sure that there's more on the ground responses. And I'm really
02:39happy to be here with the PT Summit launch today because Playtime Entertainment has been instrumental
02:44in making those advocacy dreams a reality. Yes, together, not leaving anyone behind. Not you and I, I think.
02:53We're in this together. Okay. Okay. So for our first question for Bea, so you are gonna represent
03:00the Philippines for the upcoming Miss Universe. So looking back after the coronation night. So what are
03:08the adjustments that you've been facing and preparing for, especially with the upcoming pageant?
03:17A big adjustment for me is I really love to talk and sometimes even ramble. So I've been working hard
03:24with
03:25my Q&A coaches both at B&D training as well as with attorney NAD from Empire to make sure
03:32that my
03:33answers are as impactful as possible. Additionally, I want to make sure I'm as strong as possible for the fight
03:40in
03:40Puerto Rico. So I've also been working out a lot, making sure that I'm training so that I'm not just,
03:46you know,
03:47standing tall, but standing tall with strength. Do you still get nervous when like when you practice for
03:53the Q&A? I was really surprised competing for Miss Universe Philippines because I love public speaking.
04:00I was part of competitive debate all throughout high school and university, but there's nothing
04:05that can prepare you for when the lights hit you at MOA Arena. So I've been trying to speak publicly
04:11as
04:11much as possible to make sure that I'm really at ease for the international competition.
04:17What part of the preparation process stood out to you the most?
04:23It's honestly Pasarela because the performance and the walk is something that I've struggled
04:30with a lot throughout my different pageants. And working with my trainer, Ian Mendahar, it's really
04:37taught me to be more mindful of what my body is doing and make sure that I'm really living in
04:42the moment,
04:42even when all of those nerves are hitting you on stage.
04:46Okay. Thank you for that.
04:48How about with April and Ali?
04:50Yes. So for Allison, of course, after Katrina's historic Miss Supernational victory,
04:59pageant fans are naturally hoping for a back-to-back win. How do you carry that expectation while also
05:06focusing on your own journey?
05:07Okay. Well, first and foremost, I want to say huge congratulations, Etika. You've made
05:14everyone so proud and the whole country is so, so happy and so proud of you. So the back-to
05:21-back
05:22way. Well, aside from the pressure, no, I'm obviously seeing all of the comments as well online and
05:30um, everyone has high hopes naman, which that's also something I'm hoping for a back-to-back for the
05:36Philippines. Um, but actually a really good friend of mine advised me, um, sabi niya,
05:45aside, uh, put the pressure aside and focus, still focus on your own journey and enjoy your journey,
05:51um, the way you're supposed to. Um, tanggalin ko daw sa isip ko yung back-to-back, um, mindset so
05:59that
05:59this way I can give way to my own journey and focus on myself, focus my fight for the Philippines
06:05and yun, sinapuso ko talaga yun. Wow. Is there like a strategy or like a mindset that
06:13queens have like when you prepare for the pageant? Um, well, ever since I started doing pageantry,
06:20um, it's, it, I, I learned that it was, it's very important na holistic approach lagi ang
06:28ang strategy for training, let's say passerella, Q&A, um, even styling. Now we also have to train for
06:37makeup, hair and makeup, because we won't be able to bring our glam team. So that's something that we
06:42have to work on as well, right girls? Okay. Okay. Does that go for everyone? Do you not like bring
06:50your glam teams with you? Yes. Wow. One of the most intensive trainings I've been going through
06:56is working with my makeup artists, mama, um, Mickey and Jaja. Yeah. And then my hairstylist Jonas to make
07:04sure that I can do everything on my own. And I need to lessen the time because it takes me
07:09three to four hours to do it on my own, but it takes them only an hour. Well, it is
07:15so difficult,
07:16but I know that with enough determination, we'll all be able to ace it. See, this is how, you know,
07:23beauty queens are super women. How about you? Not anyone can do that. Like, um, how do you have,
07:29like, uh, your own personal secret weapon, um, preparing for Miss Charm? Um, so far,
07:38After I had a performance uh, the past um, months ago, um, so maybe we just need to work on
07:46on
07:47um, uh, um, techniques and how maybe excel to the other candidates. So, uh, we're
07:54been working on it still Sa Pasarela, and then, of course my communication skills,
07:59and you and your hair and makeup.
08:02So we need to master that one
08:04because we have everyday events
08:06that we need to do our own hair and makeup.
08:09So, and then aside from it,
08:11of course, we just need to take care of ourselves
08:14so that we can present ourselves internationally.
08:18So we should be prepared
08:19and represent Philippines better way.
08:23Even emotionally,
08:25like do you like make sure
08:26that you're on a good state
08:29or your state of mind is
08:31parang ready talaga?
08:33Kasi minsan, di ba, parang sobrang pressure,
08:35nakaka-stress.
08:35Yes, ayun po.
08:36So we need to take care of ourselves,
08:38so especially our mental health.
08:40So when it comes to our team naman,
08:44hindi naman super sagad yung trainings.
08:46At as much as possible,
08:50yung mga trainings namin,
08:52sakto lang na hindi kami sobrang pagod.
08:54And then also, ayun,
08:57like we need to also settle down.
08:59We need time to ourselves
09:00to focus parang hindi naman sobrang sagad
09:04for the pageantry.
09:05Kasi the best way to present ourself
09:08sa stage is yung, yes.
09:10So yun.
09:11Something that's been important to me
09:13is making sure that I'm off the grid
09:16at least once every two weeks.
09:17So that means going to hike a mountain
09:20or go to a beach where I have no cell signal.
09:23And that's made sure that I'm really centered
09:26and making sure that I'm fully focused
09:28on getting that fifth crown for the Philippines.
09:31Yes, because having me time
09:32is just as important
09:33as all the rigorous training
09:35that we're going through.
09:36Wow.
09:37And I love that.
09:38Social media detox.
09:40Yes.
09:40Absolutely.
09:41Mga trips,
09:42may mini trips then kami,
09:43going to your beaches.
09:45We also need to do groundings, you know.
09:47Exactly.
09:48Well, it's good you mentioned that
09:49because that was going to be my next question.
09:51I don't know if you guys are going to agree,
09:53but I think at least
09:56one of the exciting parts about this
09:59is that you get to travel a lot
10:00and you're going to different countries
10:03for what you're competing in.
10:06What are you most excited about
10:07the country you're going to?
10:10I am really excited
10:11for El Yunque National Park in Puerto Rico
10:16because I've been there before actually
10:18for a reforestation project
10:19and as a nature girl through and through,
10:22I'm excited to finally hike
10:24to the top of El Yunque
10:25as well as meet all of these amazing women
10:29from around the world.
10:30I'm always at my best
10:32when I'm competing in a pageant
10:33because I think that steel sharpens steel
10:36and being surrounded by such empowered women
10:38really inspires me.
10:42Well, for me, going to Vietnam,
10:45so of course food
10:46and then the former
10:48Mr. on the Philippines,
10:49I also shared that
10:50we're going to do a lot of eating.
10:55So we're looking forward for the food
10:57and aside from the food as well,
10:59I'm very excited to meet my co-candidates.
11:02Meeting you, sisters, internationally.
11:06So we're heading to Poland next year
11:09and I'm very excited to, of course,
11:12meet my co-candidates
11:13and grow our sisterhood.
11:16But I'm also excited to experience
11:19the culture in Poland.
11:21So that's one of my favorite
11:23and it'll be my first time
11:25going to a European country.
11:28So I'm so excited.
11:30But now, let's just prepare.
11:33Prepare muna.
11:35Later na yung travel.
11:37Ayan.
11:38Magna ko naalala, FK, no?
11:39So we remember na si April before
11:42worked as an OFW.
11:44So can you share with us
11:46how that experience has shaped you
11:49to become the queen that you are today?
11:51Of course, it's shaped me to
11:54the empowered April Smith right now.
11:57You know, working abroad
11:57has never been easy.
11:59You've been away with your family.
12:02to your support system
12:04and to your comfort zone.
12:05So it's not easy.
12:06But what keeps me stayed
12:08is my perseverance.
12:10And of course, the goals.
12:12So you just need to focus on it.
12:14And it also, for the pageantry,
12:16it also helped me as an OFW.
12:19Because I've learned a lot
12:21when it comes to the services
12:23because I work in a hotel industry.
12:26Yeah.
12:26So it made me even stronger.
12:29And also, I've learned
12:33how would you use those two platforms
12:37in your life.
12:40So it shaped me
12:42and it helped me a lot.
12:45So of course,
12:46all of you guys
12:47came from different backgrounds,
12:49different stories.
12:50But here you are
12:51as Playtime Ambassadors.
12:53How do you think
12:54this partnership
12:54is a good fit
12:56for each of you?
12:58I view Playtime Entertainment
13:00as a really great platform
13:02because they are doing
13:03a lot of CSR initiatives
13:05through their Playtime Cares program.
13:07And something that's always
13:09been really close to my heart
13:11is environmental resilience
13:12for coastal communities,
13:14my family being from San Juan La Union.
13:17And then also,
13:18disaster resilience responses.
13:20So the fact that Playtime Cares
13:22is involving me
13:24in their disaster relief responses
13:26right away,
13:27even before I go to Puerto Rico.
13:29And then we're also forging
13:30a more long-term path
13:31on how we could work
13:33with different environmental nonprofits
13:34around the country
13:35to make a stronger
13:37and more resilient Philippines.
13:41For me,
13:42Playtime is,
13:43they're saying,
13:44born for happiness.
13:46And I think
13:47we girls are born for happiness.
13:49We're always a happy
13:51carry-ray.
13:52You see us very prim and proper,
13:54but I think
13:56we're great ambassadors
13:57in Playtime
13:58because, you know,
13:59we can bring the light
14:00and the happiness
14:01to everyone around us.
14:03How are you like
14:04outside pageants?
14:07Oh, my goodness.
14:09It's a service.
14:10It's a service.
14:10It's a service.
14:11It's a service.
14:11Yes, you may see us
14:13as very,
14:14the others,
14:15we see it's very intimidating,
14:17very prim and proper,
14:18very queenly.
14:20But then,
14:21outside pageantry,
14:23if we're just being
14:24in ourselves,
14:25we are just someone
14:26who's very simple
14:27and then very calog.
14:28So, you didn't expect
14:30if you will get to know us,
14:32we're that type of person.
14:35So, yun.
14:36You'd be in shock.
14:37You'd be in shock.
14:38You'd be in shock.
14:38Yeah.
14:39I think,
14:40I think,
14:40you'd be in shock.
14:41You'd be in shock.
14:41Mga gano'an.
14:42Yes.
14:42Ngayoruan na lang kami.
14:44Yes.
14:45Do you agree, Bea?
14:47Si Bea kasi likes
14:48mountain hiking,
14:50ganyan.
14:50Do you agree with them?
14:51Very different
14:53of cam.
14:54Oo.
14:55I don't think
14:56you'd recognize me
14:57if you saw me
14:57in my kasambahay,
14:59no makeup.
14:59I really prefer
15:01to just not do anything
15:03when I'm not working
15:04and to be away
15:06from social media.
15:07I really like
15:08having no screen time
15:09when I'm with my friends
15:10so that I could
15:11fully catch up
15:12and enjoy their company.
15:15All right.
15:16So, yun, FK.
15:17Ito mas matetest natin
15:19kung gano' sila
15:20ka-crazy
15:21or kaka-log off
15:22sa ating next time.
15:24Ah, ito malalabas
15:25yung personality natin.
15:26Ito malalabas
15:27yung personality.
15:27With our next segment,
15:30our
15:31pep challenge.
15:36So, this one,
15:37this one is called
15:38pageant pitch.
15:40So, we're gonna
15:40hand you
15:41random items
15:43and then you only
15:44have 30 seconds
15:45to sell it to us.
15:47Beauty queen style.
15:49Okay.
15:49And we'll have
15:50someone who'll ring
15:51the bell for us
15:52to tell us
15:53that your time
15:54is up.
15:55Okay.
15:56It's okay
15:57if you're not
15:58proven proper
15:59during this segment.
16:02All right.
16:03I'm really bad
16:03at live selling.
16:04So, I'm depending
16:05on you guys.
16:06You too.
16:06I was like,
16:07oh, okay,
16:08you'll go first.
16:09Who will go first?
16:11Are we doing it
16:11as a group
16:12or individually?
16:14You'll have
16:14each an item.
16:16You'll have
16:16an item each.
16:17Okay.
16:17And we'll have
16:18a timer.
16:19We'll have a timer.
16:2030 seconds
16:21to then.
16:22Don't you give us
16:22a sample?
16:23I don't want to come.
16:24Sample.
16:25Sample.
16:26It's kind of unfair.
16:27Yes, please.
16:28Oh, no.
16:28Beauty queen.
16:30Please.
16:31What's the matter?
16:32Sample.
16:32This microphone
16:35will personify
16:36not just
16:38my physical voice
16:39but my
16:40voice
16:41as an advocacy.
16:43I'm just saying
16:44things out of my head.
16:46I'm so sorry.
16:47That was so bad.
16:48That was so bad.
16:49But you can start.
16:51Yes.
16:51No.
16:52It's so bad.
16:54It's so bad.
16:55You really look at this.
16:56It's so bad.
16:56It's so bad.
16:57It's so bad.
16:58Don't have to worry.
17:00What's the top?
17:01For fun.
17:02Who will start?
17:04Okay.
17:05Maybe
17:06from
17:08there.
17:10My goodness.
17:11Allison.
17:12Your item is
17:13a hanger.
17:16A hanger.
17:17A hanger.
17:18Okay.
17:19Let's
17:19a ringer.
17:22Yes.
17:23Timer starts
17:24now.
17:25Now.
17:26So here
17:27I have a hanger
17:28and I believe
17:29that this
17:30will be life-changing
17:32because if you
17:33use this
17:33you'd be able
17:34to hang your clothes
17:36the way you want to
17:37and it'll be
17:38prim and proper
17:38just how I'm
17:40sitting right now.
17:41So if I'm
17:42in you,
17:42pick it up.
17:45Perfect.
17:45Perfect.
17:47Perfect.
17:48All right.

19:35Let's go,
19:36girl.
19:37Timers.
19:38Starts
19:38now.
19:39Wow! Do you prefer to be a big spoon or small spoon? Personally, I like both. Just like how you
19:48could use the spoon both to scoop soup, whether you're in Vietnam, like Ate April in a few months, having
19:56pho or sinigang at home.
19:58You can also use it to cut. If you're having tortang talon, I personally prefer a spoon to a knife.
20:07And I thank you.
20:09Wow!
20:12Pero lahat sila, no? Parang train the train talaga sila sa pagsagot ng Q&A kasi before the timer, natatapos
20:18nila.
20:20Train talaga, oh.
20:21Okay, so syempre, before we end our pep live, we want to see something. What is it, Ate April?
20:29Ayan. So dahil malapit na ang mga upcoming pageants nila, respective pageants nila, no?
20:35We want to see how they walk their signature walk for the upcoming Miss Charm, Miss Supranational, and of course,
20:45Miss Universe.
