00:00U.S. President Donald Trump secretly switched planes after last month's NATO summit in Turkey
00:05in an operation reportedly linked to an Iranian assassination threat.
00:10The White House had made it appear that Trump was leaving Ankara on Air Force One,
00:14but he was actually moved to a different military aircraft.
00:20According to a report by The Washington Post,
00:22Trump had arrived at the summit on a newly renovated Boeing 747
00:27gifted by the government of Qatar last year.
00:30But when he left Ankara, he boarded the older Air Force One in front of cameras.
00:35Trump was then secretly taken by an airport catering truck to a smaller military plane.
00:41Trump flew from Ankara to a refueling stop in the United Kingdom on the separate plane,
00:46while the older Air Force One carrying the media arrived minutes later.
00:50The Post, citing officials familiar with the operation,
00:53said the plane switching was triggered by a credible threat to Trump.
00:56At the UK, Trump then boarded the newer Air Force One gifted by Qatar,
01:01which was retrofitted by the U.S. Air Force to serve as the new presidential plane.
01:05The Pentagon has not commented on the report,
01:08which prompted questions about the security of the newer plane.
