00:00Another really interesting one, too, here, Craig, coming up, I think, with the Texas Rangers tonight who are taking on
00:08the Angels.
00:09And you and I talked about Detmers.
00:11I really thought he was going to be traded.
00:13And ever since that moment, he has been awful.
00:17I mean, you want to talk about a guy that looks completely uninterested.
00:21I don't know if he was really hoping he was going to be traded or what was happening there, but
00:25it's the Angels.
00:27You can't fault the guy for that.
00:29But Mackenzie Gore, first start back off of, I believe, paternity leave.
00:34This is his first game.
00:35But it's a huge game.
00:36It's in the L.A. and the Rangers very much alive.
00:41And you got to love when a guy like, you know, DeGrom invokes his no trade clause and says, I
00:48have no desire to go to Atlanta.
00:49I want I think we can win here.
00:52That's got to play well in the clubhouse here, too.
00:55No.
00:55Yeah, I saw the Angels play this weekend, Joe.
00:58They don't have a terrible offense.
01:00It seems to me that four or five guys in that offense I saw and I was on the pregame
01:04and postgame for all three games that they played.
01:06They do have a pretty good top of the lineup, a pretty good middle of the lineup.
01:11Trout is still a good player.
01:13He's playing well.
01:15Detmers is OK.
01:16The issue, Joe, zero pitching.
01:19Zero.
01:19Zero.
01:20Like when I say zero, it is zero.
01:22I saw this kid Urania pitch this weekend and he's been really good and he had a bad start.
01:27However, Joe, I'm not backing the Angels the rest of the way.
01:31It's it's a better way to play the Angels for me is as long as they're not up in any
01:39game.
01:39Like, let's say you're looking at one one in the second one one in the third.
01:43Nothing, nothing in the fourth.
01:45You just blast the other team halfway through the game.
01:48That's the way that I would play it.
01:50Real bullpen is.
01:51Yeah, their bullpen is awful.
01:53They they went to the catcher yesterday.
01:55Heinemann.
01:56He was throwing Ephus pitches at 40 miles an hour.
01:59They are playing toward next year.
02:01They're playing a lot of young guys.
02:03Three guys, I think, made their debut against the Marlins this weekend.
02:06Joe, there's nothing wrong with a team doing this, but you'd be crazy to back them.
02:12Now, in the steel cage match of death between the A's and the Angels, I don't know who I
02:16would take.
02:17I mean, these are two horrendous teams, but my guess is if you're asking me between those
02:22two, I think I still would take the Angels because the A's don't have Nick Kurtz and the
02:28Angels do have Mike Trout.
02:29So if you're looking to fade one of those two teams, I keep on fading the A's, mostly
02:35fading the Angels based on the matchups.
02:37But my goodness, Joe, I've seen almost every team play now, either on TV or in person this
02:42season.
02:42The Angels, unfortunately, are right there, right at the bottom, like right at the bottom
02:47of the league with a lot of those other teams.
02:49They're awful.
02:51Now, the good news for Texas is they've got a four game set beginning tonight with the
02:57Angels.
02:57Then they go to Sacramento, right?
03:00They take on the athletics back to back winning situations here.
03:05Then they come home and take on the Nationals, and then the Angels come back to town after
03:11that.
03:12So the next four series for Texas could set them up pretty well into making a run for
03:23this.
03:23And I'm going to be very into me, do the Rangers have the bullpen?
03:28Do they have enough arms back there that can hold it down?
03:32I think of all day, I think the Grom, I think obviously tonight with Gore, I think they have
03:38the starting pitching.
03:39I believe that the bats are going to come around.
03:42But to me, it's all about the back end of that bullpen.
03:46Can we trust them?
03:47Because if you can't beat the next three or four series that, I mean, the Angels twice,
03:51the Athletics, and the Nationals at home, then you ought to just hand it.
03:56You ought to just hand it.
03:57Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
03:58Like, shouldn't, yeah, shouldn't Texas go like seven and three in the next 10, Joe?
04:02That's a great point.
04:03That's what I'm thinking.
04:03I didn't realize they had that home schedule.
04:05And they do have a really good ninth inning kid, Jacob Latz.
04:08But you're right.
04:09Beyond that, it's hard to get to the ninth inning with Texas.
04:13I totally agree with you there.
04:15But yeah, but yeah, this, wow, that schedule really sets up for them well.
04:21And again, I think Houston has done such a good job jumping back in that I have to just
04:28acknowledge that I was wrong about them.
04:29But I could absolutely see those two teams, Houston and Texas.
04:33And if I'm not mistaken, I think they play each other the last three games of the season.
04:37So going right down to the end in September.
04:39I do not give up on Texas.
04:41Seattle, I'm giving up after the weekend.
04:43That's it.
